Serious question here. What are the different ways *NFL* HCs handle things like undisciplined penalties from players?

-Can't fine them, don't know that'd be a good option even if you could

-There's running laps. Pretty universal, but many would think that's soft. (Runs small risk of belittling players, i.e. Urban Meyer)

-Can obviously reduce playing time especially RBs WRs, but what about OL? Hard to bench (and a bit nuclear this early) a DDawk for a series, cutting of nose to spite face.

-Position coach/Hc can call them out during film

I know each situation calls for different options, but am I missing anything? How do players get held accountable? Anybody a little more in the know have some nuance to add?

At this point I'm just as curious from an overall league perspective, not just Buffalo

Kitchen Patrol (KP) Duty - After normal duty hours. Literally serve up the “slop” to your own teammates.  That should teach’em.

I def understand the logic here, but (And I'm seriously asking - not being sarcastic at all), based on his performance to this point, would he even merit a 7th round pick?  Perhaps a trade for another player who was a high draft pick who has also significantly underperformed?

Good morning. After more than 20 years as a fan of the Bills, this year I will fulfill one of the biggest dreams of my life and I will travel from Argentina with my brother to see them play live against the Raiders at home and then with Comanders (or whatever they are going to be called at that point in the season) as a visitor.

First, I wanted to thank everyone who day by day makes this forum the best sports forum in the world and who have helped at least my passion for the Bills grow to unsuspected limits.

Although I have been following this forum for years, there are some doubts that I have and with which you may be able to help me:

    - We will be stopping, I think, at the Lenox Hotel. Looking at google maps I see that you can go to the stadium with the bus number 14. I ask you if this is possible and how long it takes approximately. Will it be very complicated then the return? If there is any other better option, please tell me.

    - Regarding the tickets, I have doubts whether to go to home side (I understand it is the sunny side) or if it is better to go on the opposite side.

    - What time do you recommend we arrive at the stadium? ¿10/11 am?

    - Apart from Niagara Falls, which other places recommend we visit in the city (we will only be there on Saturday and Sunday of the game).

    - To go for a walk around the city I see that there is a public bicycle rental system, is this correct?

    - What place do you recommend us to eat? It does not have to be luxurious but something that makes us feel that we are living the Buffalo experience.

Any other recommendation you can make would be appreciated.

Sorry for so many questions I'm Go Bills!

Ps: If someone comes to travel to Buenos Aires, do not hesitate to contact me!

I nominate this for, “Best TBD post ever!” for more reasons than I can list.

I dunno why this is being attacked as unreasonable. All these are more relevant than stats. Game in, game out, "did the defense do its job today."

We're we getting pressure? Stopping drives? Struggling on 3rd and long? Did we keep or lose containment all day?

OK we got gashed by the run today on paper, but we were up 2 scores all day, when the offense was hot, and sold out to stop the pass?

All this ^^^, in the context of a game is much more relevant than chalking everything up to #3 scoring defense.

Heck you're admitting that the defense did not look the same in the playoffs, as we looked on paper during regular season.... did you use stats to come up with that? Orrrrr feelings, emotions and perception?

Weird to condemn the eyeball test when it goes against you, but embrace it when it goes with you.

    Was just having fun .....

By the way, I never admitted anything, (As you claimed), except to my proctologist.

My bad your are right. The defense will be rated nicely during the regular season.

Come playoff time it's a whole different animal and theme.

Look back at that vaunted top defense of the Bills entering the playoffs. Fraizer defenses come playoff time had more holes in it then Swiss cheese.

But I get it, McD will be the savior on defense. Just like when he took over the defense in 13 seconds in KC.

But I'm the biased unreasonable guy here. Oh OK if you say so.

You're a bad boy, a very bad one, one of the worst.  I don't think there is any room to forgive you.

She will probably declare bankruptcy, which eliminates that debt.

The objective of his counter suit is to cause a burden.  Declaring bankruptcy will meet the “metric” of incurring a burden.

Additionally, she could also have her name on a property, be in a will, may want to get married some day - which would impact the marriage partner, maybe there are accomplices supporting her.

Just my speculation here, Matt doesn’t need or want her money  (he’s more than competent to make enough money on his own).  This is about retribution.

One more thing, let’s finally get “her” name in public.

  7. A few thoughts about Andy Isabella:

    - That was quite a jump to go from UMass to the NFL, let alone to be drafted in the 2nd round, and then needing to meet the expectations of a 2nd round draft choice, (Producing sooner rather than later).  I'm willing to bet he's learned a lot about an NFL offense (Which he likely saw nothing of at UMass) in the last few years and he's much more ready to contribute.

    - The Cardinals organization isn't exactly a place where players become the "best version of themselves" as is often something our Bills often pride themselves on and which our team has the "system" in place to allow this to happen.

    - I'm not so sure the types offense employed in Arizona and Baltimore were a best fit for Andy.  I think the Bills offense, quarterback, and the role they have in mind for Andy will be a much better fit than at his previous stops.

Conclusion:  Getting Andy in for a mere try-out at this point is an excellent investment by the Bills.  Hopefully it leads to something productive for him and our team.

Was this reply better for you ??

I actually don’t care about the grammar, ( I really don’t).  Im interested in communicating and understanding what you’re trying to convey, I would think you want that.

If that makes you so happy, (To continue to write / communicate the way you do - and to do so on purpose), that’s great, I wish my pleasures would be that simple. Cheers!

It's a new season McD & Beane have brought in some really stiff competition for roster spots this year, one of them being the safety that was with the rams Taylor Rapp and after last season with all the injury's i feel Rapp was brought in because of his experience and his upside .

That being said I was looking at pictures of mini camp & Rapp was working out next to Damar & it is clear that Rapp is much bigger & has had more time on the field than Damar . Both have there deficiency's in their personal games Damar had some lacks in coverage last year but did pretty good in relief of Mica & I read that Rapp has a few areas where he could get better too .

Just by looking at the pictures seeing how much thicker Rapp is than Damar then Rapp having a guaranteed 1 yr contract & given what Damar went through last season i was wondering how Bills fans might feel if McD & Beane felt that Rapp was the one they wanted to keep because he would be the better fit for the team & where it is headed ?

I know all of our hearts have been with Damar ever since his mishap last year & we have all been routing for him & his come back to play once again in the NFL & for the Bills but what if ?

McD & Beane are always looking to field the best team they can to ultimately win a Super Bowl & what if they think that Rapp is the one that is better fit & better suited to help them get to their ultimate goal ? Would you feel that they owe Damar a spot on the final 53 because he gave the ultimate sacrifice for his team or would you agree with the decision to move forward with out Damar ?

I appreciate your insight and enthusiasm about the team, (and I know I’m gonna get nailed for this - so here it goes)….. have you ever heard of a “run on sentence” while you were at school?

  10. I am ABSOLUTELY stunned.

On the 9th of July in 2007, I had a son who was born with the exact same condition and prognosis.  So unfortunately,  the little guy passed away on us in 2008.  Fast forward to a few minutes ago, I was wondering and struggling with how I can best approach the 9th of July (His Birthday - this coming Sunday) as I do every year; he would have been age 16.
I then settle down for the evening and read what has transpired with Eddie, (The first I have heard of this entire matter).  The irony for me is incredible right now.
May these children (My son Rolf, Eddie, and so many others like them) have the peace they deserve in the after life.
For those of you who are parents, with healthy children, when you’re struggling with anything else (Finances, relationships, work, etc.- or a Bills loss, LOL) remember to cherish your children’s health and well being, it’s truly a gift a parent may not realize  - until you don’t have it anymore.
Sending lots of love to those families who are struggling with similar circumstances.

I heard a report that the Bills are privately open to trading Josh Allen.

I can't wait to be quoted by the media in two days. 😂

As seen with the stupid "Diggs isn't happy that we didn't get Hopkins report", one part of the media says it and then the rest of the sports media latch on citing the single report with no basis.

It doesn't have to be true. It is content that gets them clicks in one of the most content sparse times of the football year.

You asked, 'What report?"  I answered.

What's truthful and accurate - that's an entirely different question.

Couldn't disagree more with your comments.

First, this rumor is not close to being true.

Secondly, I wouldn't consider him much of a leader at all.  Quite the opposite actually.

He's selfish and puts his own interests ahead of the team when he feels like it, with no concern about the disruption caused to the team.

    That's not a leader.

    Great WR though.

A few things, (In response to your quotes):

    - "First, this rumor is not close to being true."  I stated, "I strongly suspect..."  What inside information do you have to validate / invalidate what's being reported?  Do you work for the team?  Are you an agent?  Family member / close friend of Stefon Diggs?  Not even close to being true" - that's one hell of a definitive statement for someone to make.  What makes your assessment more accurate than mine?

    - "Secondly, I wouldn't consider him much of a leader at all.  Quite the opposite actually."  Again, what''s your assessment based on?  I stated what my assessment is based on (My work experience in a demanding field for 26 years).  What is yours based on ?  How do you know ?

    - "He's selfish and puts his own interests ahead of the team when he feels like it, with no concern about the disruption caused to the team."  Hmmm,              Prior to each game, he engages with the fan base.

He's served as a "Captain" on the team each year he's been in Buffalo (Voted on by his teammates no less)

He makes a lot of charitable contributions (Nationally and locally to the residents of Buffalo).

He's absolutely consistent in his performance on the field.

He always encourages his teammates to do better, to be better.

And to you, "That's not a leader."  Interesting.  I would like to know what your leadership credentials and experience are - to validate your assessments.

A “new report”. What report?  From who?  There was no report- it’s just a statement

    this smells like ****

Google it, the number of media 'reports' are increasing.  That doesn't make it accurate, but there are "reports."

  17. Stefon Diggs, what a GREAT leader!

Probably my favorite player - mentally tough (Exactly what a majority of the Bills are missing), + completely devoted to the team, the game and our fans.  I can honestly say, I would go to war with this guy (I served 26 years in the US Army, served in a variety of leadership roles and supporting deployments - that doesn't make me right on this subject, but I think it says something good about Stefon).

I just love his leadership, which probably doesn't come across as refined sometimes - but I suspect he doesn't have any formal leadership training.  However, I can clearly see he has all the intangibles of a great leader!  Mental toughness, endurance, totally dedicated, loyal, says and does what's right - even when others challenged by others.

I am going to miss him - I strongly suspect these trade rumors are spot on / accurate and are feelers put out by insiders at One Bills Drive to protect the management (GM, et al) in case things dont work out.

Right circumstances - probably something which mostly mitigates any financial / salary cap catastrophe + gets some receiving help in return.  I just read the Denver Broncos are interested here.  So (only my thoughts, speculation here) .... Jerry Jeudy? Plus some salary cap compensation ?  .....TBD.

I hate the thought of him leaving but I sense its going to happen - hope I'm wrong.

Bring up a good one with trump

one has to wonder if McDermott would have been here at 13 seconds with trump as the owner

I thought we had two shut down corners when they brought in vintage davis

    lasted a half

Everyone wants to hate marrone but he was right pretty often about his team

Oh, I forgot that one!  I was a huge Doug Marrone fan, (I'm a big fan of Bill Parcells -that's why), no he wasn't perfect, but he is / was good!  Coach Marrone has the mental toughness the current Bills team is sorely lacking.  Imagine this:

    - HC Doug Marrone with Josh Allen

    - HC Sean McDermott with EJ Manual

Putting those comparisons in perspective could get a person to significantly change their opinions on each coach.

    Further,

    Owner - Trump

    HC - Marrone

    QB - Allen

I realize that will make some people gag, but I prefer the stronger personalities - now on to the "Trade Diggs" thread ...Bottom line - love the guy, I would go to war with him!

Amazon sells a device that gives you every channel and sporting event around the world?  Or is it jail broke which then gives you the above?

    No "Jail break."

I just set it up - per the directions, followed some additional instructions with options.  Its similar to setting up a new computer.  Initially you set it up per instructions / preferences offered, and then its all about what you make of it.  For example, I went through the effort of downloading channels (By continent) that I preferred, such as North America / USA, Europe, Asia, South America (Individual countries are further broken down into "folders") and I didn't go through the effort of getting channels in the Middle East or Africa. My USA folder is a bit different.

For the purpose of this exchange, I will use the obvious point of interest here, how to watch the Bills. I will turn on my tv and cube, selct the port witht he HDMI connection.  I will get a view on my monitor to select a continent, the country, then all US cities (Example, Buffalo) listing in alphabetical order or by network (Example, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, etc.).

Of course on game day (Bills gameday to be specific), I will watch CBS in Buffalo, if Buffalo is on the road.  If its a Buffalo home game, and its blacked out in Buffalo, I will select a CBS / FOX channel in another city.  I just check the viewing map at 501sports.com to see where its being aired.  And then I watch and have fun (Or cry) depending how the game goes.

If I want to watch tv in Europe, I go to the front page on my cube, select the "Europe" tab, and then it shows me all countries in Europe with the corresponding number of channels, example:

    Italy (126)

    Germany (149)

    Switzerland (38)

    and so forth......

Ill click on the country and see the listing of all channels available.  Just for the sake of comedy, you need to watch "Law & Order" being translated in German, hilarious!  Gangsters in the Bronx speaking perfect German.  I also enjoy the South American, Italian, Korean, Japanese game shows - unreal!

Anyway, I got carried away.  Just go to Amazon, search for the Amazon cube, they seem to be on sale every 3rd month, they keep coming up with newer better versions.  I havent missed a Bills game in a few years now - and its great to see via a Western NY broadcast - When you're far away like I am (In Hawaii) its special!
