We aren’t taking defense at 27.

    I just know it.😀

We are taking defense at 27, I just know it.  Here's why:

    - Coach McDermott will be the defensive coordinator for the coming season.  For his professional pride, he will stop at nothing to ensure the defense will not let down from last season.  He would not be able to tolerate the perception that a mere defensive coordinator (Leslie Frazier) could possibly out-do him.

    - Generally speaking defense is easier to learn than offense.  As a result, your defensive draft picks are more likely to contribute sooner.

How do I know all this?  I live in Hawaii and have a smart phone.  And the clincher, in high school, I was on my 3rd string punt coverage AND punt return team!  So there!

In my opinion, acquiring 2 "mid-level" free agents, plus the annual drafting of Offensive Lineman in the 6th round, is in essence "overlooking" the O-Line.  Wish our team would draft O-Line like the Eagles do.  Nevertheless, I get your point, but what our team is doing with the O-Line just doesn't resonate with me.

the posters on TBD tend to skew older. They want a white LB with a mullet and a neck pad, like it was 1995. Edmunds was a modern LB and was hated here because he is a coverage LB and not Shane Conlin.

Lol…. You had me at “1995”

And yet, the Rams won the 2021 superbowl with Rapp starting 17 games.

Go Figgur how such a stupid team with such bad personnel evaluation that the "average fan" can do better pulled that off.

Honestly, do you ever logically think through what you're posting here?

No, we don’t think here.  We just attack everyone and everything - regardless of circumstance.

Then everyone here will talk about how awful our picks are and that they want Beane fired immediately.

Then in 8-12 hours everyone here will be raving about all of the UDFA's we have signed, and that Beane is a wizard.

Then I can start talking about the 2024 draft…. Well wait,  I already am…….. fine the 2025 draft.

With mock draft season in full swing, what are the worst mock drafts you have seen for the Bills.

    I'll start: https://www.nfl.com/news/four-round-2023-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-qbs-go-1-2-3-after-colts-trade-up

Chad Reuter just posted his 4 round mock on NFL.com.  It has the Bills TRADING UP to 20 and losing its 3rd round pick for........Pitt DT Calijah Kancey.  Still available at #20: Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who goes next to the Chargers, Hyatt, who goes following that to KC, Trenton Simpson (MLB) to NJG, Dalton Kincaid to Dallas, and OT Darnell Wright to Cincy.  If we traded up for any of these guys I could live with that, but for a DT....NO!

But the carnage is not yet over, in the 2nd round Reuter picks: Drew Sanders, LB Arkansas.  Look, I like this pick, but not if round 1 is DT.  Picked 2 picks later is Jack Campbell, and about 5 picks later centers Luke Wypler and then Steve Avila in the early 3rd.  Our 3rd round pick becomes Seattle's, and they take AL LB Henry To'oTo'o.

In the 4th we take Tenn-Chattanooga- OG McClendon Curtis.  (who?!?!)   Taken several picks later are both Oklahoma RB Eric Gray (to Cincy) and Wake Forrest WR A.T. Perry, to NE.

    YIKES!!

Unbelievable!  Moments ago I just reviewed Reuter's mock draft and came here to comment - with the same sentiments you have - only to see you beat me to it.  "Carnage" as you put it, is right on the mark!

What if the draft were held later today?

    …..or tomorrow?

    …..or the day after tomorrow?

    …..or the day after that?

    It is maddening!

Not maddening, its actually a great idea.  Then we can do this every day.  24, 48, 72 hours out (and so on) all the way to draft day in April '23.  In fact, take it to another level, and do this for NFL draft day 2024, with a "current list" 365 days out and so on.  I love it!

Are we going to do this with every player that gets cut from here until TC?

Yes we are.  Let's just cut to the chase right now and ask this about every possible available player.

I'll go first, Tom Brady, available, should we do it?  I say yes, think about the endless possibilities here, to include setting a new record for most TBD pages to a thread, even exceeding the "Mario Williams" record.  Are you starting to see the benefits of this brilliant idea?

Who's next? (We are in off season mode - so why not?)

    - Mochiko Chicken

    - Grilled Ahi

    - Kalua Pork with Cabbage

With an extra gallon or 2 of Jack Daniels on standby, should the unfathomable happen.  I know, I know.  It's pathetic that Buffalo Bills football means that much to me.  And that's exactly why I'm here, I know I'm not the only one - and that "makes me feel safe" (To borrow a line from the T-Mobile commercial).

Tough to find that price, I haven't found anything under 6. Tough pill to swallow. But also could be a once in a lifetime chance. My biggest issue isn't the money it's spending 8k on a weekend and then... I won't say it but... if a certain team I'm rooting for were to not score as many points as another team and I paid 8k to watch it... needless to say I would be spending the next few days at the brewery.

"I won't say it but..."  What wont you say? But what??

"if a certain team I'm rooting for"  I thought you were a Bills fan ??

"were to not score as many points as another team"  You mean if the Bills lose?

"and I paid 8k to watch it."  You mean if the Bills lose after you having paid 8 grand - you would do something terrible?

I don't get these cryptic posts - why??  Some people around here, I tell yeah!  SMH.

    Motorin'!

I've been a fan of Motor since he was drafted by the Bills, but I swear he looked quicker against the Bears, than I've seen in a while.

    James Cook also seemed faster.

Hopefully a sign of good things to come!

(But may have only been an indicator of how bad Da Bears run defense is.)

I agree.  They may have very well have looked, (And actually were) "quicker" and "faster" because on a near frozen field, the offensive player will have a greater advantage, (With regard to footing and the ability to respond / adjust) over his defensive counterpart.

Why in the world is anyone talking about this with our biggest game of the season less than a week away? Threads like this shouldn’t be allowed

    I'll answer this question.......

It's because this is what the Bills, (GM, Personnel Dept., Scouting Dept.) are "talking about" right now and have been discussing / evaluating since the season started, continue to do at this moment, and will do up through free agency and till the draft.  As a Bills fan, it interests me, (And apparently many others), what the team is doing, not just on the playing field, but in all aspects of the organization.  More specifically, what the Bills are planning today are indicators of what the team will look like in the future - and that interests me.  It's what all teams, all organizations do.

On a personal level, quite honestly, the planning process interests me as much as the game itself - that's not an exaggeration.  And that's why I am reading "about this with our biggest game of the season less than a week away."

Edit — 500 degrees in Miami earlier this season …… for what was largely the Buffalo Bills practice squad.  Everyone else, (Miami Dolphins & fans) enjoyed 87 degrees in the shade.  Bills were at 107 degrees - we saw the thermometer on tv demonstrating the difference.

  14. From Hawaii - its an annual thing now for me to come back home to Western New York once a year to see a game.  Cant wait to move back to Rochester, (Suburb of Webster), and get my season tickets.

Been considering getting Bills season tickets for 2023, (Even while residing in Hawaii), and just fly in to Buffalo for as many games as I can.  Expensive, but worth it!!!  Love the Bills and love the people of Western NY!  Due to my career choice, I've had the opportunity to see the world and meet people from all over.  You people in Western NY are the best - I'm just not sure you know it.

Did anyone read the article and not just the clickbait tweet?

He wasn't in the building b/c his wife went into labor. He's not immediately coming back because he has a knee injury and going to IR.

Last week, Smith addressed the press and gave a preview of the looming decision to make a change at quarterback.

“We will have some very intense meetings in the next couple of days. Obviously, I know where we’re at. We understand, too, that we’ve been in some close games lately and we need to get back over the hump,” Smith said. "There will be changes made. Everything that we decide to do I will be as transparent as possible.”

That day, Smith also informed the press that Mariota wasn’t in the building because his wife went into labor with their first child.

Smith added on Monday that Mariota was also likely to be placed on injured reserve with what Smith described as a “chronic” knee injury.

No, I generally don't read, I just go on the attack around here, its more fun that way.

Maybe a great back up QB pick up for the Bills

Oh!  There's an angle I didnt think of.  Then I will get to watch every single Bills game out here in Hawaii.

As I mentioned in a previous post,

"(FYI, for those outside the Hawaii market, if a "local Polynesian guy" makes it in the NFL, then the team he's playing for is what's usually broadcast here in the islands - often taking priority over a much preferred, more competitive, meaningful game)."

    Soy boys?

You got it!  It's another reason why I truly appreciate my annual return visit to Western NY.

Long story short,  I am "forced" to live out here in Hawaii.  In summary, I got a native girl pregnant, (While assigned out here with the US Army), had the child, and per custody arrangement, cant move to another state, (Unless I want to leave him behind - not happening!).  He's almost age 14, so I am almost free.  And best of all, son is a Bills fan and seems to truly love Western NY - especially the great people at the "Miss Batavia Diner!  He's been to a game the last 2 years.  Anyway, that's my story.

Backup QB is the best job in the world. He could easily make $5 mil per season for the next 10 years. He's going to flush $50 million + down the drain because he got his feelings hurt? Boo hoo

He's treated like a god out here in Hawaii, where he's from, (A truly overhyped pathetic display).   The guys out here are usually extremely sensitive types, so him leaving the team like he did kinda lines up with everything else.

  19. Does this mean I no longer have to watch:

    - Non-stop First Hawaiian Bank Marcus Marriota commercials?

    - Non-stop Island Insurance Marcus Marriota commercials?

    - And most frustrating, Atlanta Falcons games always taking priority over the Nationally aired NFL games? (FYI, for those outside the Hawaii market, if a "local Polynesian guy" makes it in the NFL, then the team he's playing for is what's usually broadcast here in the islands - often taking priority over a much preferred, more competitive, meaningful game).

    Truly nauseating!
