  1. I have a really limited sample size to draw from, (I travel into Buffalo only once a year from Hawaii), but I was at the Bills vs Packers game, (Seated in the lower bowl - section 139 no less) on 30 October 2022, and during most of the game, you could almost hear a pin drop.  Fans around me were practically falling asleep and / or were not really into the game - shocking, to me any way.

I was the only one screaming my like hell when the Packers had the ball, most everyone else was just looking at me; not an intimidating environment to our opponent, (On that day, the Packers).

Anyway, one game probably should not be considered what's normal at the stadium, but should'nt be ignored in the debate either.  Any thoughts as to why it was so quiet at that game?

In a way I’d rather see MIA in than the Jets. Don’t get me wrong I want the Bill to crush the Dolphins this week but the Jets D is pretty tough.

MUCH Agreed, "I'd rather see MIA in than the Jets."

Would love to see the Dolphins at Orchard Park in January.  After that fiasco earlier in the season, (Buffalo at Miami), the payback would be very nice to watch.  The "fiasco" I am referring to:

    - Rigged stadium conditions in Miami, (Shade for the home team, no shade for the visitors - NFL competition committee / NFLPA should seriously look into that).

    - Dolphins "defeating" what was largely the Bills practice squad, then Dolphins / Dolphin "fans" celebrating as if they achieved something - what a pathetic joke.  Super proud of our Bills that day! Despite all the odds, they worked like hell and never complained one bit.

    - Putting Tua back in that game after he clearly suffered a significant head injury. Then lying about, it stating it was a back injury, then impeding the NFL follow-on investigation, (If those reports are to be believed).  Tua is a really great guy - he's from the area I live at here in Hawaii, so I have some additional insights which admittedly make me a bit biased in his favor.

I previously never ever disliked any sports team, (Belicheck, Brady, Bryan Cox, Dallas Cowboys, etc., all fine by me.  This 'Fins team in pathetic - from the ownership on down).

Bottom line - 'Fins are vastly overrated and its showing.

What about for those that don't live in Buffalo (or Miami)?  From what I can tell, the only way that we can watch it (legally) is with a paid subscription to NFL's streaming app or FuboTV...?

    Not accurate.

Get the Amazon Cube, (At Amazaon.com), then you can watch from anywhere in the world.  I watch Rochester and Buffalo TV, live, with local commercials, all the time out here in Hawaii.  Its great!  It makes me feel like I'm back home again.

If the games are blacked out on Western NY television, I just select a market that is showing the Bills game, just check out "506 Sports" for the regional broadcast maps.

Bottom line, it's 2022 and no way any Bills fan should ever be missing a Bills game ever again - regardless of your location on the globe.

By the way, the Cube is slightly larger than a rubix cube, and you can take it with you anywhere in the world, (With an HDMI cable + using a Smart TV, unless you want to use your laptop as your monitor).  Living overseas or traveling to another continent for vacation during the NFL season? Take the Cube with you and plug it into Smart TV at your hotel or wherever you're staying).

Over 8800 channels from around the USA and around the globe.  Highly recommend.

It's gonna be so funny when the Dolphins are 10+ point underdogs in Buffalo, and we win by 20+.

Their fans really think they did something today. I almost feel bad for them.

The Bills will be monster favorites in all of their remaining games.

If you’re interested in the study of completely delusional people, or just want a good laugh, suggest you visit the Dolphins fan page, (Finsider - or something like that). Their “writers” + fan comments, (About how superior Dolphins are to other teams in the league - and  especially the Bills) are truly stunning, I’ve never seen anything like it before.

Just pulling your leg. I'm glad you had a good trip and got to see a W.

    Maybe see the Sabres tonight?

Unfortunately I was wiped out till 6pm the next day, so couldn’t do anything else. Going back to Honolulu 6am Wednesday morning.  I’m really going to miss it here - A LOT!  Im not being sarcastic, people in western NY may not realize how lucky they are to live here.  Great people everywhere you go around here!  I’m going to miss it - badly.  Can’t wait to move back - been gone since 1989, my day will come - soon I hope.

Rookies...gotta play the long game on days like that.

No rookie here - not by a long shot; a fan since 1980, 42 years and counting.  I flew in from Hawaii, departing on Wednesday, so had to make the most of everything there was to offer.  I’d say I did my share to contribute to a jovial environment.

  8. I was there since 11am - and of course throughout the entire game.  The tailgating and pregame activities were better than phenomenal!!  Then once the game started I sensed a significant lack of energy.  As for me I was totally whipped; was drinking for 9 hours already at that point.  Many people around me were yawning, I was in section 140, 8th row, (corner of the end zone) which usually has a ton of energy.  Not tonight.  At game time -  I was wiped out !!! Many others around me seemed to look and feel the same way.  That’s my experience and my observations.

He’s got it made! He came from Hawaii AND he has his 12 year old son! Who wouldn’t want to celebrate with him for sharing that adventure with his child! I took my boys to their first home game from Florida when they turned 16 as a rite of passage. Our amazing Bills fans were begging us to join their tailgates. It’s great that the team is now almost as good as the fans! Almost.

Have a blast, @BillsNutHawaii!  You deserve it!

    .

Augie, as you may or may not recall, we had our chat a few years ago - about our children. Coming back to the area - Today that day has finally come - I’m back home and loving it more than words can describe (tears, with a bit of whiskey mixed in; coming from my eyes now).  It’s gonna be a great night .   Great to correspond with you again and best!

I did 7 years active duty including a fun field trip to Iraq.  You more-or-less quadrupled me.  Thank you for your service and hope you have a great time.

I haven't been at a home Bills game since the Bills Monday Night upset of the Raiders where OJ got hurt.  I envy you.  My Filipina wife, who has heard so many stories about the Bills Mafia and our tailgating traditions, is wondering when I'm going to take her.

Hondo, thank you and likewise.  I’ve also been to the PI, a heck of a place! And really kind people !  Not having been here since 1988, I thought I held the record or close to it ….. you got me beat  there …… come join the fun !!  It’s fantastic …… in the next hour or so; I’m  about ready to go jump through and break a table in your honor / our honor.

    Hammer Lot IMO.

Your best bet is to take the 90W to the 219 South, get off on the Big Tree Road (Route 20A) exit, and park at one of the first houses on your LEFT that are offering parking for $20ish.  Then walk to the Hammer Lot on Abbott Road (about a half mile away) and have a great time.

Then after the game you have an easy out back to the 219N entrance.

I followed the directions exactly - I MADE IT !!! Thanks very much to all who assisted!!!  Now at Danny’s then off to Hammer’s…… a dream come true to be back home with all these great people!

I agree KDiggz.  Tell anyone who wil listen how far you came for a game.  You’ll get a warm welcome from everyone.  Best NFL fans by far in the league.  If you don’t have Jerseys for everyone in you’re group, you can always grab one at the Bills store.

Much appreciated- thank you!! To be clear, I grew up in Rochester (Webster), but left to join the Army in 1993 - and just retired in 2020 so now I can travel and visit as I want.  Last time I was at the stadium was 1988 - LA Raiders were in town - an extremely cold game.  So extremely happy to be back!
Currently at “Miss Batavia Diner” for breakfast and having to the time of my life right now!   Time to go to the stadium!  Thanks for the  endorsement and best to you !

  13. - Flew in from Honolulu this past Wednesday, (the jet lag is working me over).
    - In the last 4 days proceeded to gain almost 10 pounds (Mostly wings, pizza and alcohol - about ready to explode from over indulgence).
    - Published a TBD post (last night ) soliciting ideas for game day at the stadium.
    - Meet high school friends (Class of 1989 - Webster, New York).

It’s been great !! But the anticipation of game day is killing me - my head is spinning - extremely happy to be back in New York surrounded by so many fantastic people.  Soon, will be departing to the Stadium.

No problem!  I had a much longer post typed up chastising you for getting to OP so late… but then I remembered, it’s a night game.  Duh 😂

Also, this is all assuming you and the people you’re with don’t mind making that trek back to the car after the game.  It might be a little more than a half mile.  Like I said though, I’ve NEVER had a problem getting back onto the Thruway when parking there.  (I usually park at a house between Kings Place and Queens Court, I think).

Getting there 9 hours before kickoff though, not sure if all the houses on Big Tree Rd will be “open for business” for parking yet.  But some will be.

Your detailed guidance is perfect - just what I was looking for.  I’m with another friend and my 12 year old son (yes I pulled him from school to make the trip - but this can also be considered an “education” - right?). He keeps telling me he’s dying to jump through a table - well see about that one. 1/2  mile walk is just fine, but thanks for the warning.  I can’t wait for the kick-off … the anticipation of it all is eating me alive !!

Thank you - I really appreciate it.  I want the full day of activities- it’s my one game of the year that I usually attend, but my first evening game so I wasn’t sure what the best approach to the day would be. Again, thank you.

  16. Hi, I just came in from Hawaii for Sundays game against the Packers.  I’m seeking any recommendations for pre-game activities / tailgating. I plan on arriving in Orchard Park (From Rochester / Webster) at about 11am.  Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide, it’s much appreciated!!

On another note, can’t emphasize enough how fantastic this area is because of the great people!  If you don’t already know it, or just need a reminder, it’s a true blessing to live in Western NY.  I’m so happy to be back again!!!

Your post makes zero sense.  First, we weren't missing 11 starters.  Second, all I was saying is other teams have injuries too and not all injuries or missing players are the same.

Correct, Bills were not missing 11 starters, they were missing 12 starters to be precise, (My source - either of the last 2 weeks Buffalo Bills officially published injury reports).

True, every team has injuries, but not every team is missing a dozen starters - by week 4 no less.

  18. No joke, if I don’t watch, they are practically undefeated, and I’ve been a fan since 1981. My father used to tell me, I could be a very rich man if the Bills were aware of this, in other words, they would send me a weekly check in order to ensure I don’t watch their games.  This is a true story - I’m not exaggerating.
