  1. hybrid 6-1 or 6-2...220-225 lbs

a big nickel that can play the run, cover TE and RBs in pass coverage and blitz so it confuses the offense by allowing more variety and diversity to your scheme and formations as such allows other LBs to blitz without sacrificing one slower in pass coverage.

Can also play safety as backup and while developing experience will contribute on special teams.

But I wonder if Dugger is gone before we pick what they would do ?

Think there's a good chance that Jalen Hurts, Ashtyn Davis, and Bradlee Anae all go in the first round which would be higher than their consensus Big Board rankings.

Hurts is the pre-draft hype or is it disinformation....Davis is a track star transitioning to football and plays stiff...Anae maebye

  3. depth

if Trey or Micah or Singletary sprain an ankle who can we rely on

there is decent depth at several position groups but not all

thats why I like a DB, edge, RB, WR, OL in that order -

I would be happy with 5 picks this draft given Diggs acquisition  makes 6 and trading up in the middle rounds for quality or quantity in the mid-range...

if you want to draft a P in 7 round be my guest

  4. kmet is coming out - check the draft boards he is first or second rated TE -

big guy his father played NFL and was drafted by our Bills in 1992

Kmet is also one heckuva baseball player and seems to be picking NFL over MLB career

likely 2nd or early 3rd round pick - if we were to pick him this board would have a mushroom cloud over it for week

  5. historically the Bills have not run effective draws and screens...and I think Chan G ran the best ever schemes for us for screens

more woeful history...yesterday Joe B from the Athletic had an article where he listed the stats for our TE over 60 years

our top 10 for passing yards for TE were

    1) the legendary Dave Costa 1967 with most yards..19 freaking  effing 67

    2) Charles Clay 3x and Scott Chandler x2. - name the greatest TE in Bills history and some will say Paul Seymour because of his blocking helped OJ..but pass catching TE - Pete M ?  Charles Clay ?  Scott Chandler ?

    3) We dont have a TE with more than 725 yards passing in 60 years - we are one of three franchises to never have a TE collect 750 passing yards in a season and Jax is one of the others and they are relatively new historically speaking...so the on-going dialogue about drafting a quality TE will continue until...Dawson Knox develops or we draft one early

(first round TE busts include Ruben Gant from the 70s and Tony Hunter the golden domer selected before Jim Kelly that year)

  6. 1. Bills have the least draft capital going into draft, but it all levels after the first round more or less

    2. So unless they have a first round grade who slips into the 40s I dont see them moving up.

    3. I dont see a RB having second round value based on other needs and depth. more of a 3 or 4th round choice where they have  better chance of moving up.

    4. CB or Buffalo Nickel is my hunch followed by edge or vice versa for rounds 2 and 3.

  7. it was over for this dude after opening day 1977... he missed 2 kicks on that rainy day at home against the Dolphins  when it was close game...during the zero for the 1970s run Shula and company laid on us; same more or less as Brady and BB did to us this past decade

    .

He also went 3 for 15 from 50 yards plus for his career which lasted several years; hard to fathom why drafted (Bills 5th round) and why he last so long.

  8. the bloom is off the rose with the Pegulas...do they see a recession coming, did their vision change?   Man years ago I thought working for a Buffalo professional sports org would have been a dream come true.  They must have their reasons and they dont have to justify as plans and more importantly results change.  They may have been overzealous in their vision, who knows for sure.   I wouldnt want to work for PSE now and I have to wonder if other execs and even rank and file workers would have second thoughts about hiring on in the future  Optics aren't good with the significance of the quantity and quality of jobs lost esp with a pandemic.

  9. warning this may induce vomiting:

Walt Patulski - first pick of entire draft - at least he got traded for a #2 which turned out to be Joe Delvin who played well for us for years

    more 70s misses

    Phil Dokes -

the Nebraska twins (LBs Rudd and Nelson)

Tom Cousineau - never signed - went to CFL and Browns after crapping big-time on Buffalo

Rueben Gant - as in can't - TE

    80s whiffs

Booker Moore - Guillen barre disease

Tony Hunter - TE from ND taken before Jim Kelly

Perry Tuttle - beware WRs from Clemson

    90s super bowl misfit

Darryl Williams (and his flame ######ant jersey)

    20th century busts

Erik Flowers - John Butler reach

    Aaron Maybin

JP Losman - not just a number 1 but we traded more pick

Leo McKelvin (first cb taken in the entire draft)

Torrell Troupe (2nd rounder taken right before Gronk)

  10. high expectations

qb is the highest paid position in the game so there is concern about the looming extension in 1-2 years

Is Josh a later bloomer can he get better with accuracy and pocket presence and avoid stupid negative plays, picks, fumbles, etc

if we dont get it right with him yeah we are kinda screwed like any other team

i think he is doing his part, the OL is solidifying, we have improved the WR positions over the past two seasons,  the schemes-plays-coaching is refining as well, I am sure the game is slowing down for him esp against good defenses and schemes

hoping for the best, but as some point a decision will be made and expect this place to have a mushroom cloud over it

I wrote an article on Cover 1 regarding the Bills future cap space (will link if the Mods approve? I'm not sure but it may be against the rules here as spam)  and it shows a little bit of a tight cap moving forward after this off-season.  Essentially, after re-signing Tre White, Dion Dawkins, Matt Milano, Jon Feliciano and accounting for rookies on the cap, the Bills are looking at roughly $6M of cap space in 2021 -- and that $6M is assuming that Milano takes a little bit of a discount.  That's tight on the cap and while there are ways to get around it and create more cap, it's worth at least being aware of the possibility that one of Dawkins or Milano might not be retained next off-season.

I'm curious as to which one Bills fans would rather retain if it does come down to choosing between them.

As of right now, the market values listed on Spotrac are 4yrs/$57.5M for Dawkins and 4 years/$52M for Milano.  Being a solid LT on the open market I think that Dawkins may command more, and I also think that Milano may command a little less.  I'm not sure myself which one I would rather have and am curious how the site feels about it.

On one hand, I personally wouldn't want to pay an average offensive tackle an elite rate in Dawkins.  On the other hand, keeping the offensive line together will be crucial for the offense and Josh Allen while paying Milano $11M+ per year next to Edmunds who might make $15M+ per year once he gets paid is a lot for 2 linebackers.

I did all of this work in Excel and attached the sheets here in case anyone wanted to play with it themselves.

    What say you?

good point about paying 2 LBs, Edmunds is a must and ttwo LBs at 25M per season is very steep that alone makes the decision for me

  12. Diggs, Brown, Beasley maybe the best trio since the 90s ?  Name a better trio between now and then ?

Then give Josh some better protection and better schemes-calls (no fly patterns for fullbacks come to mind for some off reason)

Add some accuracy, maturity, touch from Josh and Diggs could be our first all-pro WR since ?  Moulds, Lee Evans, Price ?
