  1. vary things a bit more

like walk up and have an immediate snap instead of slow-walking and then the usual long, drawn-out usual hard-count where the D knows he doesnt get the snap until the play clock is down to 1-0

then maybe snap it on the first count

this way the O keeps the D more honest

its like playing poker, you dont want to show your hand until the end

  2. Josh Norman cannot cover a number 1 receiver - nobody on the roster other than 27 can it appears

Milano - would love to keep him and keep him healthy - but how given our cap and need to pay Josh the massive big contract ?  Also Milano is smallish and has shown some consistent injuries which further cloud the decision to re-sign him

Pass rush - no pressure whatsover from the base rush package and any bliztes were not effective as well.  Addison, Jefferson and Butler were invisible last nite other than the PF for late hite that cost more points.

Run defernse - need Star back to anchor and makes Oliver more effective as Milano does for Edmunds.

The draft - given the DE age and Murphy likley leaving the pick of DE esp in the second round with a first-round grade makes sense, but right behind is a CB and LB so that is priority for 2021 draft

Roberts was garbage last nite and so was the coaching - if the defense continues to suck does Frazier get canned (like if we dont make the playoffs after 4-0 start ?)

  3. the good teams are going to find ways to move the ball; the Rams ran it well the entire game too; so at the very least the term "elite" will no longer be debated on this portal of higher thought.

So the question has been answered how good is Daboll and Allen and they have stepped-up this season; Josh is in top 3-4 of all the desirable qb stats; TDs, yards, completion %, QBR, etc

So now, how good is our D; where was the pass rush esp the second half ?  should we have blitzed more; why did we give up huge chunks of yards on the ground the entire game when Milano and Edmunds were back which was a problem last year.   They blew-up the screen passes all game, but the middle is wide-open again where the TEs roam.

These questions also pertain to the entire NFL where the offenses are really coached and executing well, so the defenses are more challenged than ever...

  4. that means Milano and Edmunds are in or game time decisions at the very least...Dodson playing some or more is not a concern based on the Fins game

this is Moss second injury (toe) his first was a neck injury during training camp where he missed several days...way too early to categorize as injury prone, but...he did miss significant time in college due to injury and his run-to-and-thru-contact style does concern me

  5. favorite home game - my first game ever 1970 home opener versus Cowboys (Craig Morton, Walt Garrison) at the old War Memorial Stadium - quite a high-scoring game and OJ scored right in front of me; Tony Greene debut, smallest player ever to wear an NFL uniform I believe...

least favorite - watching Bert Jones and the Colts come from behind to score a lot of points and beat us during the Lou Saban run on O and hide on D days or is it daze

  6. Marrone will oversee the taking thru week 14 and the last 1-2 games some assistant likely a minority will be the interim.

Seems coaches get fired over the bye week - so the next scalp is NYJ Gase fired after 11/15 game against Miami right after game #10 and the start of bye week.

Cincy hangs on to coaches for long streches, BoB in Houston is the GM and coach so that likely would be a right-after-the season decapitation, and it could be a long season in Philly as well...

  7. with Moss the only run to contact RB,if he gets hurt there is no physical runner on the roster or PS ,so does that provide more value than what TJ offers is the question in my mind...Miller does have some injury history as well...occupational hazard of the position

conversely if Motor misses time is TJ of more value than Miller....

He wasn't a winner. He won one great, historic game and that is why he is in. And I think he probably deserves to be in just because of how momentous that win was, but it is pretty sad for the franchise that Namath is the best they've had.

Namath is to the Jets, what Seaver is to the Mets...1969 made the legends...Seaver's body of work much more impressive and Hall-of-Fame beyond any doubts, so dont go there friendoes

This is great. Have to say though I do get all misty eyed when I see clips from the late 80s - early 90s. Not just because we were really good then but it just looks like such a different time. I showed a kid I work with some clips and he couldn't believe how different the game looked. I much preferred the way the game was played then, I also preferred the sportscasters and the way they talked about the game.

do you find yourself yelling at clouds as well now ?

how is Nathan Peterman getting paid a million dollars? i felt bad for the guy whenever he got on the field but then realize he is getting paid for practicing football.

    it happens...

harken back to the Bills 3rd string QB during the Super Bowl runs...he held a clipboard and pretty much nothing else, but is a historical note and or triva question:

Gale Reed Gilbert is a former American football quarterback who played eight seasons in the NFL for the Seattle Seahawks, Buffalo Bills, and the San Diego Chargers. Gilbert is the only player in NFL history to be on five consecutive Super Bowl teams, none of which won. Wikipedia
