The blabbering Boston media thread
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Motorin''s topic in The Stadium Wall
Can’t argue with the media part lol they are professional agitators. Honestly if the pats win Saturday with a banged up dugger and Barmore and missing Jalen mills it’s gonna be pretty hard to deny the media hype of how masterful belichick was so I will be on your side if people complain about the media haha I don’t see a lot of excuses on the bills side if nothing changes with Covid/the weather forecast. if mac plays well it really doesn’t matter he struggled down the stretch of the regular season so I wouldn’t be surprised if the mac jones is the next tom Brady talks resume -

Still stuns me…clearly he had some method to kick low liners into the wind but after the first shank why did he keep trying it 😂 -
First part I def agree with…they probably would’ve kept him if they could find a gm that would work with him. I think behind the scenes judge is an absolute sh*tshow though…he brings the whole ‘patriot way’ thing of being very much in no way a players coach but the team was not winning so he ended up just losing the locker room players talk and I’m sure they were gonna struggle big time trying to sign free agents. Usually when a coach is on the hot seat players go to bat for them but a lot of the players supposedly wanted him gone.

Haha I always wonder if the whole ‘let’s start an unproven qb we know is terrible to see what he’s got’ thing is intentional tanking or roster evaluation. I’ve got a lot of nfc east fan friends I’d def have a soft spot for the giants if Daboll headed over there lol
-
They’re doing something wonky with testing where tests you and I would consider positive end up being negative according to the NFL…not sure what metric they look at but they’ve set some bar for ‘recovered enough to play without being contagious’ Pats players that get into commentating end up being the biggest homers 100% of the time I’m kind of with you…he really hasn’t been asked to do much. He had one impressive game against the browns where he dropped all kinds of difficult throws into tight windows but that seems like an outlier now that we have a whole season of data. Pats are very much a high floor/ low ceiling team that is going to consistently play pretty well but struggle to keep up with the top afc teams.

Funny looking back on that…all the armchair GMs in the media said we were tanking and we ended up making the playoffs lol -
Yea I’m not sure where the fear of the cold is coming from…it’s just as much an issue for a team that likes to run the football as it is a team that likes to throw if not more so. I don’t think it’s as big of a deal as the OP made it out to be but obviously you’ve got the science behind it. It’s a kicker standing next to a heater all night kicking a mostly warm ball
-
Judge did a hell of a job long term by accidentally tanking to get the giants two early first round picks lol paved the way for the next coach to have some success at least

There’s probably going to be a lot of offensive changes next season whether Daboll stays or not so I’m not sure how much of an issue that will be…of course that hinges on us being able to draft a few guys that can actually run block lol -

I wish I could visit the alternate universe where we have someone other than edmunds starting at mlb in mcdermotts scheme lol it’s a darned near impossible position to play…he asks so much of his linebackers so that he has more options to disguise coverages with dbs -

Alright you sold me on it 😂 -
I get stuck watching a lot of giants games living an hour north of nyc lol they’ve got some weapons on offense that they can’t get the ball to because they have an offensive line that was even worse than ours back when we couldn’t block anybody. Defense is pretty solid though when they’re not stuck on the field for 75% of the game because Mike Glennon is the worst qb of all time. offensively they’re capable of being pretty far ahead of where we were the year josh started…still can’t believe we threw him in there with Robert foster at wr1 and it actually ended up working out for him. Honestly josh Allen’s crowning achievement so far for me is going .500ish as a starter his rookie year with that awful roster
-
McDaniels cheated exactly like him in Denver and was promptly caught 😂 more fun evidence that spygate was a big deal lol why risk it again if it didn’t help the team much

Not bad for second place…we still could’ve used Tyrod though as peterman was absolute dogsh*t and it led to us forcing our rookie qb into action on a terrible roster earlier than planned. I feel like cordy was completely expendable when we traded him. -
I wonder who he’d prefer given the choice of Chicago and the giants. Giants roster actually doesn’t seem that bad but judge coached them straight into the ground it felt like. They were pretty competitive for long stretches then it seemed like judge lost the locker room and they shut down jones for the season whos not very good but nowhere near as bad as mike Glennon
-
Bill O’Brien seemed like a good coach but a bad gm…not sure if he’d ever agree to give up front office control though. side note…I love when Eric mangini beat the pats because he knew exactly how they were cheating and used it against them lol pretty fun evidence for the people that said spygate wasn’t a big deal cuz that guy was a pretty bad coach otherwise

That’s gonna be tough to top…you’ve set the bar high lol I don’t think cordy has even played in years -
A front office or two that has been gone for years was irrelevant with fans…this current group has completely turned around said irrelevant franchise with probably the gutsiest player evaluation/draft pick of all time in josh Allen He would have likely shown things to Daboll in practice and walkthroughs, doesn’t matter much what he’s shown to fans

Shaq Lawson possibly returning to Buffalo

They’d be buying him very low which I’m into…his play for the Texans and jets is impossible to evaluate on an individual level since the guys he was lining up next to were so bad -
My case for Trubisky to the Colts
Generic_Bills_Fan replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
The eagles offense got even better with him injured though which definitely should’ve raised some red flags lol I wonder if they win that superbowl if he started in the playoffs. equally puzzling was Blake Bortles absolutely balling out in the afc championship and being a tipped pass by Gilmore away from getting his team to the superbowl -

I feel like he deserves at least some of the criticism for his team feeling confident they could roll with Carson wentz in the offseason. -
I’m a lot more worried about me dying at the game than how the cold affects the players 😂
-
People have done a lot of analysis on that and cold does not really have a correlation with any offensive metrics. Sure if you’re standing out in the cold for hours your hands start to feel like bricks but these dudes are standing by big @ss heaters in huge puffy jackets at least half the game wind and rain sure, but cold is not as big of a factor as you think. biggest thing cold air does is makes it difficult to breathe and that affects both teams at all times. Qb grip could be an issue as prolonged exposure would hurt grip on the football but qbs use hand warmers and the football deflates a little bit in cold temps They played outside for a year or two while their stadium was being built.
