Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Ray Stonada replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don’t remember this. Everyone agreed that Marino was the most productive passer ever but no one I remember said he was the best quarterback. Yes, he was the best at amassing passing yards, 300 yard games, etc. But Marino was also a statue who needed to get rid of the ball quickly, and didn’t create off script as well as other guys, like Montana or Elway. -
You nailed this one. And not only are the receivers not worrying about stats and glory, Allen isn’t either. He’s throwing checkdowns and outlets that he used to ignore, searching for the hole shot. Ironically, the stats pile up this way anyway. And they come way easier.

He can be a jerk, it’s true, but he just posted a clip of Damar’s first INT on his Instagram. Reminds me why I loved Diggs!

Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?

A Chiefs fan's comment on the Athletic: "Eric H. · 5h 33m ago @John P. As a neutral chiefs fan I saw it coming. Sure they shedded some talent but they focused on building a more balanced roster. And as much as everyone (bills fans included) has ***** on McDermott he’s done an excellent job getting good defensive play while dealing with injuries. And of course Josh Allen is still a freak and should be on his way to back to back MVPs (should have won it last year and I don’t see any way he doesn’t win it this year unless he gets hurt). He’s better than Mahomes right now and it’s not particularly close." -
Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Ray Stonada replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
The crazy part is Josh is the best pure passer the Bills have ever had. And there is no better pure passer in the league. He's also the best running QB the Bills have ever had. And there is no better running QB in the league. And he's as clutch as anyone we had, or anyone in the league. It's pretty insane. -

Josh Allen vs Patrick Mahomes: The changing of the guard?
Ray Stonada replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
Passer rating through 3 games, 2024 Season: Josh Allen: 133.7 Patrick Mahomes: 89.9 Josh is putting every ball on the money. He's really spinning it out there, even on short throws. -
When the Bills have a decent team I basically hate all the other teams. But during the drought I found myself becoming a “football fan” and enjoying lots of other games and teams especially in the playoffs. That was weird.

Von Miller proves the doubters wrong
Ray Stonada replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't get why people are so down on Von. The guy played great for us in 2022, tore his ACL, took an absolutely normal amount of time to come back fully. He even gave money back after his knee didn't cooperate last year. Now he looks good again. This is something to be happy about, no?- 630 replies

Week 2 - Bills at Fins - Post game thread
Ray Stonada replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Two years ago we had 500 yards of offense against them and lost. Last couple years, in general, seems like we had to play so much better than other teams to win. This game, we won by a lot without it feeling so hard. THIS IS THE WAY -
THIS. End of story.

To expand: when Diggs fumbled on the first play of the Chiefs playoff game, I had a weird feeling. The guy has 8 fumbles on 800 targets in his career. Then he dropped the long ball and I thought, could he be purposely tanking his way off the team. I hope I'm just being paranoid.

Is anyone else haunted by the thought that Diggs dropped that deep ball on purpose? I am

He engineered leaving the Bills in 2023. Started to do just enough to make it look like he wasn’t full on tanking. But he was. He was coming off the field on third downs. I was at the Chiefs playoff game. He fumbled the first snap of the game, took the air right out of a super pumped crowd. Dropped the long one, same thing. Got his wish. We were right to trade him.

The Athletic Survey: Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson?
Ray Stonada replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Allen is clearly better than Jackson at playoff football, which is what matters. But Josh's turnovers are mentioned nationally because they are too high. His interception rate has been increasing. 2018: 10 TD, 12 INT 2019: 20 TD, 9 INT 2020: 37 TD, 10 INT 2021: 36 TD, 15 INT 2022: 35 TD, 14 INT 2023: 29 TD, 18 INT I hope he bounces back this season and throws 40 TDs and 10 INTs. -
All our backups have looked really bad in the Josh era. Very unlike Frank Reich in the Kelly times. Josh is truly carrying our whole offense. You see it by how all our backups struggle.
