At this point, Bills are outside those 3 teams. I kept watching the AFC game and thinking what would the Bills be doing in this game? I just don't see how their defensive philosophy could have stopped either of those teams. Bills have no rush without Miller and playing the Bengals receivers 10-12 yards off the line of scrimmage is just insanity. Probably would not have been able to stop Kelce either.

On the offensive side of the ball, can you imagine the Bills OL against those pass rushes last night? Disaster in the making, Allen would have been our only offense as he would have been running for his life.

Unless something major is done in the offseason, I can see Bills passed by Dolphins for the division. Probably still make playoffs, but could see out in Wildcard round.

    The Dolphins?  Really?!

Who knows what they'll get out of Tua going forward (godspeed to that guy as concussions are no joke)?

I agree with you that the Bills, based on performance from the second half of the season through the playoffs, seem light years behind KC and the Bengals.

  2. If only the issue was QB coach.  McD, unlike many of his predecessors, is not a clown, and actually built something where the team has been competitive for consecutive years for the first time in, like, forever.

However, the end of the season, which for anybody who was paying attention throughout, ended with that expected thud, and once again without a chance to win the SB.  Players coming out and saying that they were done means that the team doesn't need a new QB coach.  It means that it needs a new HC, and a new regime from there on down.

It appears that's it isn't going to happen, and that's fine 'cause I have zero say in it, but it really should.  When you look at the drop off between KC, Cinn, and Buffalo, it's significant.

Just for kicks, can anyone remember anything that was suggested on this site that was implemented by the Bills?

As a joke, I recommended that they draft EJM.  As a callback, I recommended giving up picks for Watkins.  har har.

    Ah yes, some great memories.

I recall SaviorEdwards when he/she superimposed Trent Edwards face on a picture of Jesus in his flowing robes.

And McAddict, he came in with outlandish tales.  Once McAddict claimed he was going to bet everything on the upcoming bills games, he would even up his mortgage and people were begging him not to do it.

And who was the poster that claimed he was in a drug store and come across Lionel Dotson who taught him blocking moves like the swim move and pushed to poster into a row of feminine hygiene products.

    I must've missed THAT one.

Oh, I remember now.  I changed jobs to a tech/sales role, and was basically on the road 4 days per week.  So I kinda worked a LOT and lost touch with BBMB on the daily.  And then it disappeared, at a time where all I wanted to do was to drink my coffee, read BBMB after another nauseating game, poop emoji, shower, then get out of Dodge to come back home.

Wow good memory. I forgot all about that stuff and those posters lol. I have ***** memory nowadays though

@jrober38 continued his schtick here until JA17 proved himself to be good.  If memory serves, @jrober38 apologized for his doubts, got the badfinger from several people here, and hasn't been heard from since.  @The_Dude was here for a bit, I guess a bunch a people left a few years ago or something, and haven't seen him since, well, not unless he's contributing under a different name.  @The_Dude was a smart guy, and was also a riot, if I recall.  But he also said that a suitable replacement for EJM would be... Blake Bortles.  So there is that.

    the ***** you don't.

i haven't read through this so i'm not sure if it was menntioned, but that savioredwards character...he's here and i think was recently banned as filthybeast.  he's always around.

I wonder if jeffismagic is here as well?  He was fun too.

  6. I was more of a lurker than anything, but I remember five things:

    1. Diesel-USMC, after watching EJM play QB for this team, would constantly write these lengthy essays that insisted EJM would be fine.  Oops!  Diesel-USMC was then accused of stolen valor, yet nobody was banned, which was odd because the mods were always banning some person or another.
    2. @jrober38 and @The_Dude went on massive crusades against EJM, like hundreds and hundreds of pages, and were never banned, well, until they were.  I used to enjoy reading their screeds over my morning coffee.  And then @jrober38diversified and suggested that the Bills should bring Cutler on board, and that Jameis Winston and Carson Wentz were bluechip players.  Again, loved reading it.  The hour I spent each morning reading the absurdity of it all -- showed me a bunch of people who had too much time on their hands.
    3. BBMB had a rule (TOS) about being banned if you got banned then returned under another username.  Well, @jrober38did it when he returned as spursfan.  It was clear for all to see, and I got to enjoy the show for a second time, and spursfan wasn't banned before BBMB was shut down, but goddamn.
    4. I once decided to troll a couple of the people mentioned above by appearing with the nickname of VealCutlerWillSaveUsAll, and got banned in about a week.  Interesting choice in moderation, and frankly, glad that BBMB is gone.  We're all better off.
    5. One poster asked if EJM was the most divisive Bills' player ever.  Really?!

  7. I can't believe the number of 6 baggers this teams plays.  Wow!

I'm fair weather, as indicated earlier (like way earlier) in this thread, but goddamn.  When I get a chance to see the Sabres with an offensive output like this, I'm kinda thinking that there's something here.  The Hasek years... were largely Hasek, but this is something different.  Can't believe what I'm seeing, but am thoroughly enjoying these games as I get to see them.

  8. Real Genius.  A house filled with popcorn and a bouncy girl in a sweater during the end credits?  I'm totally in.  Wait, you ask, aren't you happily married?  My wife likes the Thor guy from MCU, and I enjoy the bouncy lady, ok?

One of my childhood favorites. I remember once when my mom was making it while the Maytag repairman was fixing our dryer. When he finished, he said something about it smelling great in the kitchen. Mom told him it was city chicken and he said he'd never heard of it before. Next thing you know, there's another place setting at the table - Mom insisted that he join us for dinner.

Bingo!  Such an easy recipe and a crowd pleaser.  We used to shop at Broadway Market and Federal Meats ahead of the holidays, and many a time a new guest at our table would marvel at the simplicity and deliciousness of this recipe.

Great memory!!!!  I, like most, was never a Marrone fan.  But the passion with which he discussed bologna in this interview is one of the greatest things I've ever read.

    https://www.espn.com/blog/jacksonville-jaguars/post/_/id/23749/doug-marrones-last-meal-bologna-and-cheese

“And I always like bologna because bologna, you never have to throw it out. In other words, if it’s in the refrigerator and you get a little film on it, then you just fry it and it tastes just as good.”

    What a quote!!

Best Interview Ever.  I was kinda hoping that he would turn into Bill Parcells when he was here, but EJM, not being a good coach, walking away with loot, nope.

Still, this interview tickles me to this day.

    Ever try Maytag blue cheese?

It's the best.  My father in law introduced me to it, and I admit that I love the back story as well.  After his career (retired) as an iron worker, my father in law took up making gourmet meals at home.  Watching a guy with hands that look like anvils make a souffle or judiciously use blue cheese is a thing of beauty.

A couple times/year, I get a serious hankering for bologna.  I always get Old Neighborhood Beef bologna and always have it sliced thick.  I've made plenty of fried bologna sandwiches, but never with onion and pepper.

Say hello to my first bologna hankering of 2023!!!

Thanks for joining TBD, Coach Marrone!
