Somebody needs to write the pre-emptive version of this thread for the Browns game so it can be pinned for quick access to deep breath instructions postgame.

Actually, let's be proactive, and send out glossy posters to every restaurant in WNY.

On that 4 & 18 play,  I would have preferred bringing an extra man and forcing the ball out quick,  we 3 rush guys and Cousins has time for receivers to get beyond the sticks.

No doubt.  I wish it was like that all game long, but I suspect that the issues in the secondary required making other choices.  Still it's maddening.

How many late game collapses because our defence cannot get off the field under Frazier do we need to have before changes are made.  I could go back to the Houston playoff game where we gave up some crazy 4 and long play.  Last week,  same thing against the Jets.  Tired of watching him coach not to lose

The problem with coaching not to lose... is that you lose.  A lot.

If the defense makes a stop on 4th and 18 the game is over and there's no fumble on the goalline or pick int he endzone. The D couldn't do that so the rest is a consequence of that failure

But that's not the game that played out today; the D couldn't hold, so it was JA17's shoulders, and he couldn't get it done this time.  You take what's given and you minimize errors.  There's no shame in holding JA17 accountable like the rest of the team that willed itself to lose this one.

I gave you two shots and you're still fixated on the completely wrong thing. Allen did everything he needed to do to win today and then his defense cost him the game and he took them to overtime anyway.

Allen lost the ball on the goal line and also threw a pick in the EZ.  Doing everything needed to win a game involves neither of those things, much less both of them.  Lots of blame to go around after this horrible game, but Allen is a part of it most certainly.

We hadn’t seen postseason unstoppable Josh Allen yet.

It was pretty ugly, but we didn’t have the lofty expectations for him.  They were high.. like MVP high, but not unstoppable force high.  Same goes for the team.

There were definitely games at this time last year where we all agreed Josh was losing us games with his off play.

I don’t ever remember him literally throwing to opposing teams with frequency though.  There’s picks and then there’s picks.   Cousins throwing a high pick to Benford happens.   Cousins throwing directly to Dane Jackson doesn’t.   And Josh has done that like 3 games straight.

Forgot to add earlier: the AFCE is pretty competitive thus far this year, and that wasn't the case last year.

What was ugly about Allen's game today? Until the last play he was 29/42, 69% (giggity), 1 TD- 1 INT 330 yards passing and 6 carries for 84 yards. That should be considered a very good game by anyone and he did all of that with a throwing arm injury.

Bad picks and the fumble.  Oh, and not throwing to wide open guys to keep the play running; I think that Allen is great, don't get me wrong, but sometimes you have to take what the game gives you.  Doing so doesn't make him Trent Edwards, not by a long shot.

Lots of other blame to go around.  Giving up 3rd and longs on defense, questionable play calling on O, not taking the FG, and so on.

The Colts and Jets covered eight quarters out of 12. He actually played better today overall than he did in either of those games. Then we had his performance against the Falcons, which closely reflected what happened last week and that was week seventeen.

He was certainly better today, even at not 100%.  But, bad picks, and the fumble.  Not good.

I think that JA17 is great, make no mistake.  But the only chance they have is if he gets it together.

It's the picks and the fumble in the EZ, so let's hope that it's rock bottom.

  10. Why sign another player who will be misused?  Yeah, OBJ can probably still play, but why sign a guy when you can't run, your secondary is steaming trash at the moment, and coaching won't put points on the board when they can?  Plus, if I'm OBJ looking in from the outside, the sheen on this team now than it was in September is night and day.

Try to help your inexperienced secondary here and there by making the QB throw quicker than he wants.

This exactly, and (1) take the points when the opportunity presents in a game with an unknown outcome and (2) coach your QB to take the easy throws to keep moving the chains.

Why neuter your star player? The only way he's going to get past the struggle is by actually working through it. Allen is not someone you try to cover up. You call it the way you know he can play because he's going to work through it eventually. And that's how you get him ready to make all the right decisions in the playoffs. He has to learn from it now, not later.

He should've take what was given today. If he didn't that, no one would be blaming coaching because the fact is that coaching had them in position to win.

I agree with you in part.  Even though JA17 isn't tip top at the moment, I have faith that he can get over the hump.

Where I disagree is about coaching.  Those 3rd and long conversions were absolutely brutal.  Not taking the FG was a huge miscue.  Plus, watching the first half was a great joy, where the second half was the exact opposite in a number of facets of the game.  Yeah, players have to execute, but at some point you wonder about stinker plays on O that lead to near turnovers or punts.
