McDermott has no control of this team. I love Allen. LOVE Allen since day 1. But he's on the sideline chatting with Allen about going for it... McD needs to be assertive and in control, no discussion no thinking, you make the call.

It's in his head. But don't expect the Bills to make any adjustments. McDermott will allow everything to go wrong then blame everyone in a presser.

Harbaugh in Jacksonville with Lawrence is a great fit. This needs to happen but the team might be gun shy about another high profile guy from college ranks even though Harbaugh has NFL experience and success.
That division is ripe for the taking too, you think he wants to go to Vegas and go against Mahomes and Herbert every year? No way.
IMO Chicago is the worst job on the table because you are going to have to make it work with Fields who I don't think is an NFL caliber QB.

It's not critical of Allen, it's just mischaracterizing a play that has zero chance. Allen didn't slip he got a lineman thrown into him.
Straightforward play? A QB sneak under center from the 3 yard line? Your chance of scoring is next to 0. Our offensive line was getting manhandled all game too.
I don't mind going for the TD but go for the TD, they were trying for a first down with 20 seconds left and then still needed a TD after that.

The good news is that this team is good enough that it can take a bunch of tough losses and still win its division and be well-positioned for a deep playoff run. And next year we can look forward to "regression toward the mean" working in our favor.
No offense but I'm tired of the slip narrative. His guard got thrown in his lap off the snap and they were on the 3 yard line, that play was a horrendous call and blown up of the snap, zero chance to sneak it in from the 3 yardline. Just a baffling call.

I'm honestly amazed they keep trying to jam players in the booth.
The most successful commentator in history that was widely loved was John Madden. He was a coach. And yet none of these networks are putting coaches in the booth, they aren't even trying! Why? They put coaches on pregame and analysis but not in the booth.
Everyone wants the next John Madden, but they keep trying talking heads and former players... for the love of God will someone get a coach in there?
Madden worked so well because coaches are used to explaining, teaching, and most of all speaking in front of people.

Last time the Bills started a backup QB the final week to rest for the post season he had a great game vs the other team's backups... the owner pulled rank, the head coach cowered, and we started a backup vs the Titans who played absolutely abysmal losing a game we should have easily won.

Many fired coaches are fired because they don't have the guy at QB. Many new coaches on bad teams also have a QB change.
It won't preclude Dabol from also drafting a QB. And even if they have a young one it's good to have a vet that knows the system in the room.
And it's not a given it will work out like that, if Dabol goes to the Jags Mitch will probably go elsewhere. But it's a good opportunity if it works out.

If he in shape, sign him. He can't be worse than Mario Addison who is one of the worst signings in Bills history. I don't know who was worse Addison or Chris Watson.

Play him and get Darryl Williams off the field, monster liability. Williams should have been benched from the play at the end of the Jags game where he didn't know the snap count and allowed Smoot to go unabated at Allen. Dude is trash.

I'll tell you why I believe Mitch signed here. He saw this staff do a great job developing Allen, and offensive system that is very QB friendly, and a starting QB with a style of play that is perceived as higher risk for injury. He wanted to take a year to refocus.
But ultimately, here's the main play... him and his agent know Dabol is a hot Head Coach candidate last year and marked as a guy to get a job soon. So what he does is get in here on a 1 year deal, learn the system alongside Dabol, then when Dabol gets an expected HC gig next year, Mitch goes with him as his QB. That's the play.
