What coaches or players said McDermott blamed the offense? I didn’t see any name’s attached to said events. Did you? Not saying it’s not true but there’s zero proof that it is true.

I don't like Tyler Dunne either but I'm going to doubt that he's just making stuff up.  It's in line with what we know about regarding his views on complementary football as well.

I mean.. imagine the shock after losing that game though.  Obviously he's deflecting blame and pissed off.  In a loss like that, everyones pointing fingers - the seasons over and everyones unhappy.

I like the idea of getting some understanding of the locker room and the long form story.  But to just take like... quotes about something that happened years ago and not really contextualize it.  Were people arguing?  People say dumb stuff when they're arguing.

It's understandable to give him the benefit of the doubt, I just don't think that leeway is appropriate anymore.

Y’all are going to be even more excited when McD and BB go heavy on defense this draft and FA. The only DL under contract for next year are Groot and Oliver and we should be replacing both Hyde and Poyer.

If they draft a WR in round 1 and keep the same O-Line then I'm actually fine with the talent.  Shakir looks like a great depth piece, and a high investment in WR will take pressure off of Diggs/Kincaid.  Knox is your RZ TE and Shorter might be able to work his way into a WR5-6 role.

One way or another, I think this spells the end for Von. He's been a JAG on the field, and now he's repeating a previous pattern of behavior off of it. Whether he's suspended by the league or not, I expect him to never see the field for the Bills again.

He's been worse than a JAG.  150 some snaps and only 2 tackles.

I've said this before. It's understandable, injuries can be really difficult to come back from. What isn't okay is that the coaching staff keeps throwing him out there despite the extreme lack in production, that's insanity to me.

As has been mentioned, offensive coaches are the best way to super bowl success in today's nfl. Even when Bill B. was winning in NE, even when Brady didn't have as many weapons as he deserved, it was because Bill was the BEST defensive coach in the nfl. if you are going to be a defensive head, you better the best, or near it. Not just GOOD at it.

At least be the best in the 4th quarter.  Decent to Great for 3 quarters and 32nd in the 4th can't and shouldn't be acceptable.

He was arrested. Lots of details for no report.

Its not at all uncommon for the victim to recant or later minimize the incident.  This is unfortunately a common occurrence in DV situations.  I believe law enforcement typically calls it a day at that point.

Oh sorry, I wasn't talking about Von Miller, but expanding on an experience I had with a coworker who had a DV incident at work.

I agree with you and that the situation is different with Von.

It's really hard to win a case without a cooperating victim. Usually DAs like to win, and only take on cases they are pretty sure they will win.

A few years ago a the husband of a coworker walked into the school we both worked at, and started screaming for her.

When she came out into the hallway he immediately grabbed her and tried to force her to come with him. When she refused, he began to choke her out, in public. Two custodians (who happened to also be football coaches) and I forcibly removed him from the premises. He luckily didn’t fight back much, I think he realized that the odds weren’t with him.

She refused to cooperate with the school resource officer who showed up soon after, even though it was blatantly public.

I'll reserve any judgement or comment on the DV stuff until more is brought to light. That's a lesson we all should have learned by now. Even when information comes out we will never know the whole truth anyway.

However, I still care about the Buffalo Bills and how it impacts them. So, yes fair question to ask is IF he's arrested and so on...how does it impact the franchise and any guarantee money going forward.

Of course. I don't want to make it out to seem like I've already decided his guilt or innocence.

  9. This is wrong but my first thought is "Does he have a morality clause in his contract we can leverage?"

EDIT: Just in case this needs to be said.  Abusing anyone is wrong, but especially a loved one.  It's horrific behavior that creates generational trauma.  I'm not saying Miller is guilty, just that the act of domestic abuse is disgusting.

The defense has let us down badly by giving up multiple game losing drives this season.

Yesterday, was just another example. We would be in great shape for the playoffs but for the defense not being able to close out games.

We would have lost 1-2 games if that was the case. We would be at the top of the AFC if McD didn’t fail so spectacularly at the end of games.

The offense left three TDs off the board, the Cook drop, and the Sh/t twin and Gabe running the wrong routes.  We needed just one of those plays, and we win.

We needed McDermott to call a competent 4th quarter and we win. 32nd in the league during the 4th quarter over the last 8 games from our defensive head coach.

Instead of blaming the side of the ball who got the lead with 1:45 left on the clock let’s call a spade a spade here.

If the offense needs to be so much better then the defense is in the dumpster.

Unmatched rate?!?!? 15 td passes to 9 ints in the past 8 games. 😂

The league leader in turnovers 3 years straight and that's not a problem?!? Since 2020 he's thrown more picks than Derek Carr, Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff. You name him and Josh has him beat. That pick in the Philly game was VERY costly. It was in the 4th qtr, at OUR 25 yd line. We HAD the lead at the time.

"scoring rushing TDs at an unmatched rate" is what I said that you conveniently ignored.

He's scored more touchdowns than anyone. You'd have a point if that wasn't the case. The pick was costly, then we marched down the field and took the lead again.  Know what was more costly? The defense failing to get two stops in a row to end the game.

Do you mean to tell me that the McDermott strategy of protecting a one score lead by letting the opposing team move the ball past mid-field with ease against off coverage, only to then zero blitz them when they get in FG range, isn't sound play-calling?

It turns out that when you leave guys open the opposing quarterback is more likely to get completions.  It's a mind blowing concept, I know, hopefully McDermott can wise up to this bold new NFL strategy of throwing the ball to guys who are wide open.

Maybe I should have had the statement "this failure is a team effort, Josh included". Josh gets all the excuses. 8 games in a row with a pick. Can't keep doing that.

You can if you're throwing 40+ times a game, and scoring rushing TDs at an unmatched rate and are a top rusher for your team.

The average NFL game ends around 20-17.  The average number of points scored by both teams is 46.  If you're scoring 30 points you should win the game. This was a failure on the defense and the head coach primarily.  It's a false equivalence to say the offense has equal blame.

  15. If they do go 5-0, it's because Allen is getting red hot with Brady at OC and they're blowing the doors off of teams.

McDermott has shown without a doubt that he can't close out a game with his defense, you can argue whether or not it's personnel, scheme, or decision making but the numbers are out there. He's probably the worst 4th quarter defensive playcaller in the league right now.
