i think a lot of that has to do with us having Allen gobbling up a lot of the praise.... But i have to admit i've been a bit surprised by the lack of national talk surrounding our defense.
Little media and NFL push to celebrate defensive greatness in my opinion. No buzz like with the Steel Curtin, '85 Bears, Bermuda Triangle, etc. Probably doesn't sell or play well with the casual highlight loving fan. Anyone can digest a long pass or run and keep their dopamine flowing. Defensive stops? Not so much unless there is an interception or forced fumble involved. Plus, there is little promise you'll see the brutal head-hunting hits of the past.

A 2nd and a 1st spent on RBs this year? No way.

Stream the daily Locked on Bills podcast and the Cover1 shows instead.

I would expect that Miami game to have added a day or two to their normal recovery period.

I would love it if he turned into prime Tolbert, he was a beast in short yardage and goal line. I celebrate if Moss makes it past the LOS. Moss needs to be GameDay inactive and free up a spot for OL or DB depth.
I'd take 2010 Tolbert for sure.

I like Moss, but he's becoming the new Tolbert.

It is actually Criminal that Leslie Frazier is still here as a DC (good for us) instead of HC somewhere.
Same with Eric Bieniemy. Guys not getting differentiation between themselves and their head coaches. Frazier would stand out more with the Chiefs and Bieniemy more with the Bills.

Oh, and I don't know why but I'm not worried about Cook, for now. I feel like's he'll have a coming out game when given the opportunities. Wouldn't be surprised if he's on eggshells every snap he plays.
Agree. Game seems to overwhelm him a bit but tough to say. Rookie.

You're right. I misread your post.

Mad, freaking out, scolding his coaches, etc........you know. He lost his composure.

Seeing Peters flip out was awesome. That broken look on the Ravens' D when we ran the clock down was also solid. I don't care for Baltimore.

Loss really reminds me of last year's first game with NE. After the loss where Jones only passed 3X really got Pats fans blabbering. Next 2 against them really told the story.
Only Mother Nature can slow this team down. Whether it be ungodly wind or sweltering oppressive heat.
All things equal neither Miami or NE can compete with Buffalo, not even close.
Now that we can stop the run, we only have the heat as our enemy.

If the Miami punter (who had an absolutely outstanding game by the way) had gotten the punt off from his end zone, I'm guessing that the Bills would have had the ball around the Miami 40 - 45 yard line with a little over a minute left, no timeouts and still needing a touchdown. Would that have been better or worse than the safety? I think it's probably a coin flip. If a safety was the smarter play, Miami should have taken a safety on purpose. Anyone have the analytics?
...and miss out on seeing a butt-punt live on TV? No way!

Runningback is the one position where we have good depth and no injuries. We need offensive line depth.
Absolutely. It's the line more than it is the RB's. Also, any assessment that is based on the "heat game" is skewed.

He is coming along nicely...he was lining up as a WR in the 4th quarter as the Bills were seriously down to him, Quentin Morris and Reggie Gilliam for their WR packages.
Meaningful snaps for Cook. He trending up little by little. He'll be up and down in use but I looking forward to seeing where he is mid-year.
Also enjoyed the Gilliam catches.

The US Army, at least as far back as 1988, would modify training based on a heat index. Still, you would see heat exhaustion occasionally - soldiers getting dizzy, losing coordination, even getting listless. Include headache and nausea as common symptoms. Even in the days before red card and coddling, the ARMY took heat conditions very seriously.
In my opinion, this was the case yesterday with many of the players right on the edge - motor skills, strength, cognitive, all being challenged. Allen's throw into the turf on the missed TD likely doesn't happen unless he's totally gassed. Maybe Davis make the football move and maybe Milano has better focus and intercepts the ball. Who knows............ I'm rather surprised that the heat management solutions aren't better - even for the visiting team.

Having an understanding of how pass rush lanes work would help you understand what and why you are seeing what you're seeing. Go read up on box rules and being a low box vs. high box player.
Haven't found much on high/low box rules yet, but the Cover 1 segments have softened my critique. His sack and tip were great plays.

I love how you still take a shot at him when he makes a good play. "Yeah, he got the sack, but it was unopposed so it's still not that good." As if other guys on the team don't get sacks "unopposed" and then get called out on it here. Never once have I seen Milano, Hyde, Poyer, etc get called out when they get to the QB on a blitz because they weren't blocked...isn't that the idea behind a blitz?
He's good at other things, just surprised they called his number as a Blitzer.

Jets didn't have to contend with Tennessee or KC and other than Buffalo, their remaining schedule isn't that difficult.
