I could accept a D player if rounds 2-4 were OL and WR and there was not the value at 27. Question to me is, is LB a position we want to have cost controlled for 5 years?
-
- It's not about Frazier not being an above average DC, it's about what happens in those franchise steering defining moments.
- Interesting point about underperforming D linemen. I've assumed that Epenesa, Boogie, and Oliver are exactly what we see, but perhaps there is a bit more that a different DC and line coach can "Granato" out of them.
- Sal/WGR feel McDermott will be calling the D next year on game day. I'm fine with that. We'll see if McDermott can adapt better to individual teams and plays. Will McDermott be quicker to implement Milano to blitz the gap or move up coverage from 10 yards back when the opponent only needs 6 yards for a 1st down? Its' those kinds of things I'll watch. Frazier set a pretty high bar for regular season.

What is it they say about never believing anything a GM says leading up to the draft?
Beane is playing poker. He's not showing his cards.
Yes. Expressing any disappointment in Davis tells the team drafting near your position to take the receiver you want before you get a chance.

It was never going to be good enough for some.

I think the Bills stay with Brown only bringing in a midland veteran for competition.

I don't think Poyer is walking because he thinks Miami is better than Buffalo. He is walking because the Bills don't want to pay him.
I think his wife is highly influential in this matter.

You can pick need if the value is there.

No. Not making the team younger and cheaper.

I don't blame Lamar, but what will he consider as having been important when he's 60 years old?

18 yard run with punishment delivered along the way.

Shakir being the best Shakir he can be independent of the total Bills WR picture

Bills will have to make do with who they have. If Beane loves him some Edmunds and/or Oliver then absolutely no money for a rush end. Maybe he uses the 1st on an end while the offense sputters? My prediction is that Frazier/McDermott will be loath to adjust scheme and personnel but ultimately will have to as they are not going to get consistent pressure with the four they're able to field - at least not until Miller comes back 90%.

Then they are not committed.
I too want OL improvement, but I think they can do that without a higher 1st round pick. If they pick OL in the 1st, I'd have it be at their current position and only if there wasn't better value at receiver. Arguably, the Bills' issue will be more is their talent assessment than whether they get linemen in the (example) 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th.

If the team is committed to rebuilding the line, I think we need to borrow a first round pick from 2024, and combine it with pick 27 to move up in the draft.
Not for an o-lineman.

Trading draft picks for 30 year old expensive players instead of getting younger and cheaper? No thanks.
-
I probably won't like paying Edmunds at his open market value. However, if he leaves, I see Beane/McDermott drafting his replacement in the 1st or 2nd - thus sidetracking the offensive upgrade.
-
The cap has to force Beane to move on from at least one or two players.
-
The regular season feels about one game too long.
Two teams per conference should have 1st round playoff byes.
Any insertion of politics makes me tune out.
Sterile, serious, PC culture instead of cheerleaders and Spuds McKenzie. The whole NFL and game coverage is just soooo serious.
Insultingly stupid sideline reporter questions and Chris Collinsworth being a fanboy.
Making the run game obsolete.

Beane prone to trading up for a player only he can love. Hopefully not this year. Time to increase our pool of picks by trading a franchised Oliver.

While thinking about this, not sure if that much would be needed to fix the oline for next year.
LT Dawkins
LG Bates
C Morse
RG Seumalo eagles FA target
RT Move up for Broderick Jones in the first round of the draft.
Perhaps this and a plan for when Morse gets concussed.

I like the mindset of the OP. That really is the level of player we need given the laid-out factors. Add to that Diggs going down for a couple games and having _____________?? as your #1.

I thought Rihanna did OK. Clean look. Show looked well-rehearsed. Besides Prince and Bruce, I've never expected a top-level musical performance. I expect more of a visual show than a memorable musical performance.
Commercials had a bit of the usual "try hard" vibe. Biggest objective there is not to offend anybody. Gone are the days of whimsical humor and pretty women. I miss you Spuds!

I'd improve the OL by two players (leaving Dawkins at LT) to include trading Oliver to get the necessary draft capital.
Last year my tantrum was probably about a 1-tech DT, but signing Jones made me happy.
