I get it to an extent and can understand the "draft disappointment" label but he's definitely not anywhere near Trent Richardson. He's still got a future in the league. And he's coming off his best season, 2018 could have been the outlier. It would be a different story completely if he put up those numbers last year, but he put it all together a bit last year and is still only 25. I'd take a shot on him.
I understand where your coming from, but adding Fournette doesn’t immediately make the team better. Plus he’s gonna demand a big contract at the end of this year, it’s obvious in the NFL of today you don’t pay RBs you just keep drafting them. RBs don’t have a market anymore like they used to. I guarantee Carolina cuts McCaffrey after a couple years just like the Rams did to Gurley. The guys in the draft have more upside than Fournette. Plus we don’t know if he’s want to play here to begin with. He doesn’t like Buffalo
9 hours ago, Buffalo03 said:What I was saying was that WE can pick up his 5th year option, not them. So, we would have him for 2 years. Secondly, no he hasn't been a draft disappointment. He has ran over 1000 yards in 2 of his 3 years in the league. He missed most of his 2nd year with an injury. And last year he had 1152 yards rushing and 76 catches out of the backfield for another 522 yards. He had over 1600 combined yards. You're way off on this
No I’m not, he has been a draft disappointment, I’ve watched him his last 3 years in Jax and I’m not in the slightest impressed. He paving the same direction Reggie bush went. Yes he’s talented but but he’s injury prone and until last year he hadn’t played a full season. Plus he doesn’t like Buffalo and I highly doubt he would play for us if traded or released.

They still haven't picked up his 5th year option yet. It could be a 2 year deal. If it comes draft day and the top 3 guys in my mind are off the board which are Swift, Taylor and Simmons then I might be all for giving a 3rd or 4th. Beane is gonna go best player available. There is no guarantee we get AJ Dillon or anyone else in the 3rd or after
They’re not gonna pick up his 5th year just to trade him that would make no sense lol. I think they wanna get rid of him quickly as possible. He’s been sort of a draft disappointment in some ways
1 hour ago, Nelius said:He's coming off an 1100 yard season?
I don't really get the hate. I like Edwards-Helaire better, but there's certainly no guarantee that you're going to find a RB in the 4th-7th that's going to rush for 1,000 twice in his first three seasons...
Edit - 1100 yards rushing, and it was actually 1152. Guy put up 1674 total yards last year! What a bum.
He’s been injury prone most of his career and hasn’t until last year played a full season. He’s definitely not a draft bust but more of a draft disappointment. Even Some Jacksonville fans feel the same way. And the year before last he was beyond horrible.

Drafting RBs is the way to go. It gives you payroll flexibility and a continually fresh set of legs. No need to pay that second contract, unless it's for a real difference maker...
Agreed the position just isn’t as valuable as it used to be. It’s a dime a dozen position and as long as you got a top 5-10 O line you can make any RB look good
1 minute ago, wppete said:Id do it for a 5th and nothing more than that.
That might be too much. I’d say a mid 6th to early 7th. That’s also because he’s injury prone

His contract expires after 2020, that would be stupid to trade a high pick for a 1 year rental. Plus like another poster said on here he definitely has a Checkered history here in Buffalo due to that fight he got in with Lawson and I believe he also got verbal with some fans although I could be wrong. Also on top of that he’s injury prone, he had a good year last year but that’s definitely not worth the pick

if Miami drafts a QB, who do you think is leaving? Fitz or the Rosen one?
I think Rosen will be gone, they’ll probably try to trade him although I doubt Rosen has any trade value especially of how bad he played last year and that he got benched in favor of Fitzpatrick who was benched after the first 3 games.

I might be in the minority but I didn’t care for him when he was playing here. I knew he was near the end of his career and the Bills had no interest in bringing him back after the 2009 season ended. Him and Fitzpatrick had a cool little run toward the end. Love that 97 yard bomber against Jacksonville but overall was not a fan of his.

I think 8-8 is their ceiling, and a very unlikely one. Since they lost Robby Anderson they now have one of the worst WR groups in the league and the consensus is they will not be drafting a WR in the 1st. They haven't made any meaningful upgrades and it sounds like the best player on their defense is about to be traded. Plus they have the same difficult schedule that we do. I have them at 5-11.
8-8? I think that’s being too generous , their roster looks like garbage and will only get worse especially if they ***** can Adams. Their roster is shaping up to look like what Miami’s roster looked like during Gases last year there. Again it’s pretty noticeable that no one wants to play for him. I say 4-12 at the worst 6-10 or 7-9 at the best

The Jets are too cheap to pay they’re players lol. Most players that play for the jets end up wanting out lol

I really wonder what New England is going to do this year. Letting Tom Brady walk was a huge mistake, I wonder what Belichick is going to do.
Idk if letting Tom go at this stage In his career was a huge mistake. I think he’s going to crash and burn in Tampa. Just like Bledsoe, Belichick knows that Brady is done and that his best years are behind him. Tampa bought themselves a huge pile of fools gold. I think New England takes a big step back this year. They lost some key players on defense like Van Noy to a divisional rival in Miami. And their QB situation isn’t very good, they don’t have any WR’s and their o line looks shaky especially since they lost their center again to retirement

The Jets did sign the LT out of Seattle, they could snake around in round 2 and help their O-line at RT.
George fant? Lol Overpaid the guy 29 million too much. He’s beyond horrible, teams defenses are gonna have a field day playing against the jets oline

Ouch. And none of the OT's are studs, right?
No, Gase is an offensive (pun fully intended) guy.
No none of their OT’s are any good. He took Minikah Fitzpatrick in the 1st round 2 years ago.

Speaking of which, who are their WR's? I'm assuming they're taking one of Lamb, Ruggs or Jeudy.
I doubt it, I bet they try to draft Adams replacement

Im not as down on the Jets as most, but we’re clearly much, much more talented than them, and even last year almost beat them with Matt Barkley throwing to Duke Williams all game.I am, they technically have set Darnold up to fail. He’s got no WRs to throw to, an overpaid overweight RB coming off of statistically his worst year, no O line and they are about to get rid of their best player on their defensive side of the ball. Gase is the modern day Richard Kotite

Nobody wants to play for Gase, unless your name is George Faunt and you give him 30 million lol, Beane should just give them a call and see what they’ll take to get him
-
This is when I had wished we never got rid of Fitzpatrick. Should’ve sat EJ and developed him on the bench while playing Fitz

jumpin’ the gun a little, doncha think? A full, quick recovery should be anticipated as he’s in fantastic health otherwise and has the wherewithal to receive the best treatment. That’s 2 known NFL cases. How many players are there? How many more people are around these guys in their professional life circle? Current standard is 14 days quarantine with treatment and 2 negative tests.
Hardly speaks to shutting it all down for a year.
but what do I know..?♂️
You never know, crazier things have happened and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did or at least postpone it for the time being

He’s already working on a deal to get Chase Young.
Now that would be the move if the century, he pulls that off and I would give him GM of the Year lol

So I think he can start but he will be one of those starters you are thinking you might need to replace if that makes sense.
Yeah it makes sense, definitely a bridge/stop gap QB. But I think Miami has been through enough of those lol. Probably the best one they had post Marino was Jay Fiedler.
Would anyone look at maybe calling the Jaguars about Fournette?

That was the defense that was carrying them that 1 year not Fournette lol. Plus Bortles looked like he’d somewhat gotten it together that year as well. That team was fools gold as they regressed
