You are insanely overvaluing Allen then.  This is the problem with evaluating qbs.  Very few young qbs can go into a situation and just elevate the team by themselves.  We have had a top 3 defense both years Allen has been here.  A lot of qbs would have been solid here.

Rosen may suck but it’s insane to say so after the situations he was forced in.  Allen would look a lot different if he got drafted by Arizona.  Our situation isn’t perfect but we have a team carried by a really good defense where a qb doesn’t have to score a lot of points to win games.  It’s a good situation for a young qb to grow in.

He got a fair shot in Miami??? They traded away their starting LT, had the worst groups of skills players, and a bunch of starting defensive players. It was an awful situation.

and I know people like to sell him short but Fitz, a 10 year veteran qb, is like the 20th best qb in the nfl.  Fitz is better than the majority of 1st and 2nd year qbs.

But He couldn’t even beat out Fitz in competition and that was before they traded their LT and Stills. Also the fact that the team rallied around fitz more and begged the staff to bench Rosen and put back fitz says a lot as well. That’s two teams that’s given up high draft picks for this guy and both have given up on him. There has to be a reason

    That's a fairer assessment

Don’t get me wrong I liked the guy in the beginning before all the problems started coming about. Then after the problems arose I wanted him off the team, same with Lynch, despite his talents he wasn’t worth the headache and the Bills backed him up and gave him several chances and he pissed them all away just like lynch did

He was changed from 3 tech attacker to a 0tech plug

The worst statistical position in football

He was my favorite player for a long time. Even when he 'mailed it in" watch him take doubles without giving a foot, and shed and make the stop

He was unlockable 1 on 1

Always got into trouble with the law, got suspended multiple times, got

caught with drugs. He was a head case that had a on and off switch. He wasn’t worth what we were paying him, no matter what scheme he played under

He cried after he was traded and said Buffalo was the only place that was ever home outside Alabama

    He loved it here

Yeah but I don’t think he’s welcome back, I for one was happy to see him leave, idc what anyone says the fact is after he got paid he phoned it in and stopped giving a ***** also he said he couldn’t wait to get revenge when we played against him in the playoffs in 17. That I remember and he was still being a baby about being traded

I would totally do it for league minimum.

Rex took a generational 3 tech and made him a plug and that was stupid

He could replace Phillips easily and at the 3 tech would probably be juiced up to play again

I don’t think he ever wants to come back to Buffalo. I remember he didn’t have nice things to say about us and the coaching staff after he got traded, I think he said he felt betrayed or something to that degree

Guessing here but I don’t think Baker or Rosen were on their board.

i always felt it was Josh, Darnold and then maybe Lamar or Rudolph.

    Rudolph looks like crap lol

I feel bad for Rosen, who never has had a chance.  He was ruined in AZ and then didn't get a real shot in Miami, and both teams were suck-o.  With a better team around him his career could have been completely different.

However, I'm very happy we got the right guy.

I think he did get a fair shot I Miami minus the whole team being crap around him. But then again Fitz was able to do more with less than Rosen did

4 years, 32 mill has been the going rate.

If an NFL team wants to give him more....................

thank you for your services Shaq.

I hope he doesn’t leave he’s really turned it around, thought he was a bust in the beginning but he’s really turned it around and became a leader

I don’t like him much.. He’d be a number 1 but he doesn’t seem to be able to dominate when you need him. Dallas was a train wreck this year and Amari was nowhere to be found for games at a time. I’m not against him coming here, but I am against paying him big bucks the next 5 years. I’d rather a 2 year contract or easy outs after two seasons

But is that all Coopers fault or is it due to the fact that Presscott wasn’t looking his way much and the fact that Dak was struggling most of the season

    This.

Chemistry with Beasley - but what if it's "bad Chemistry"?  Beasley did move on after Cooper came to town.

I think there was a lack of chemistry between him and Prescott.  I don’t know if there’s bad blood between him and cooper

Really - Hunter and Hooper are some of best pass catchers in the NFL.  Please describe where they rank with all the WRs, RBs and TEs.

    Hunter has in injury problem

I dont know...was it really different?  I mean cardinals went and invested a lot in getting Rosen, its not like they didnt go all in on him that first year.  Their roster wasn't much different than our roster that year offensively.  OL issues were similar, and Rosen had a better cast of weapons to use...wasnt great, but it was better than Bills offensive weapons that year.

Cardinals didn't see enough in Rosen to stay the course.  Then in Miami, they quickly dismissed him too.  Something isnt right here...two teams with significant draft capital investments into him quickly gave up on him.

Time to face the truth, he just isn't the guy some thought he would be.  Personally, I think it mostly stems from his lack of ability to be a leader, to command the team.

You are definitely right, I think Brian Flores said the exact same thing about Rosen, also heard neither Rosen or Flores get along. Also read the team doesn’t care for Rosen and pretty much begged the coaching staff and front office to put Fitzpatrick back in as they respected him and liked how he played

There is an unwritten rule here that you can't start a new thread until you come to a final consensus on whether we should have drafted Rosen.

Rule #2) AJ Green was not mentioned in your WR thread above.  You must include AJ Green in any WR thread.

LOL I’m glad we drafted Allen as I wanted Allen to begin with. I was just curious on everyone else’s opinion is about Allen now. And 2nd I don’t want Green, he hasn’t played a full season in a couple of years and is on the wrong side of 30 and is injury prone

Would love to have someone like Amari, but he's pretty much already said he's not interested in playing for Buffalo even if they offer more money than everyone else.

When did he say that? Also money talks at the end

Like I said, I can't personally speak to Rosen's pro readiness as I have not watched him a ton. I just don't think Allen was that pro ready. I just think his superior physical abilities have been an effective fall-back for him. And I think he is smart, humble, and driven, so he is making strides in his development.

I don’t know what it is but something about Rosens attitude rubs me the wrong way. Like all I see is Cutler and George without the big arm. Like he just doesn’t look motivated. Maybe being traded away damaged him a bit mentally or maybe he’s just mentally weak idk. I’m just glad we got Allen

Honestly, no idea.  I wanted Rosen but that’s why I’m not a GM.

I wonder if Rosen’s performance would have been any better if there was an actual plan for him.   His situation has been the worst of any rookie QB’s. I wonder how Allen would have fared in the same situation.

I think Allen would’ve made Arizona more competitive than Rosen. Rosen would’ve gotten creamed behind our line back in 18. Allen’s ability to pass and run is what saved us and kept us in most games last year. His best last year was against Minnesota, Allen also got better down line and showed more promise where as Rosen statistically regressed last year. I think Allen had more fire and rallied his team up especially when the chips were down. Rosen put his head down and didn’t inspire anyone on his team. I think the team celebrated when they drafted Murray and traded Rosen away
