Agreed with original post.  Every week is a challenge in NFL no matter who you’re playing.  Contrast Josh’s interview to Mahomes after he wins at least 5 ugly games like this every year.  Get the dub and figure stuff out.  They count the same whether you win by 30 or with help from the refs.

Excellent point that I almost brought up in my post. It sounds different when Mahomes and the Chiefs win these.

The decision to kick a 53 FG when already up 4+ points knowing your kicker has been shaky and shanked another 53 yarder earlier in the game.

Missing the kick would put the Giants in good field position w/ a time out to work with and ample time to dink & dunk their way down to the red zone.

If McDermott would’ve punted, it would’ve placed the Giants around the 10 (who haven’t scored a TD in multiple games) and made them drive 90 yards! This decision would’ve eliminated all those Trent Edwards check downs and forced Tyrod to make multiple big plays. I’m sure the analytics would back this up all day.

I know it’s irrelevant now, but the Bills are darn lucky to have escaped this game w/ a win.

It was a tough situation. Both choices can be argued for and against.

  3. The Bills won. It didn't look anything like we hoped or expected, but they won.

Bills Mafia and the media are responding like it's a loss. Tony Dungy remarked postgame that Josh Allen sounded like a quarterback who lost.

There was a lot of talk about the Bills possibly benefiting from less pressure this year, but I don't think that's the case. I think there's a lot of internal and external pressure on this team to not only win but also win big and pretty.

I'm not sure this feeling exists in other NFL cities. I think we might need an attitude adjustment, or the weight of expectations could undo this team.

It's so true. The question is... Is it worth it? I have been wrestling with this for some time.

To the best of my knowledge Terry Pegula and the former president of the Bills have a romantic relationship.

    What?

This is why you don’t have a romantic relationship with somebody who reports to you.

I learned that lesson the hard way myself. Best of my life, though.

Figured it had to be workplace romance - firing the GC and COO on the same day is beyond unusual.  Those Harborcenter parties must be something else!

This is crazy because I literally just finished a massive project on workplace romance yesterday.

Uncle Terry no likey workplace shenanigans.  Tell Russ Brandon and Lauren Hall hello.

Wait, it was Hall? Isn't she like 30 years younger than Brandon? And isn't he short?

anytime someone tells you to calm down it's only one game early in the season, tell them to get back to you when they're playing a playoff game in arrowhead once again.

mcdermott isn't good enough, dorsey is just plain bad. this franchise is going to waste allen's entire career flipping the field with pansy ass punts.

We were playing the Bengals at home last year and it didn't mean crap.

  7. I told everyone this was coming and everyone ridiculed me as if my suggestions were completely preposterous.

The Bills are a historically great team, and that didn't change today. Look back at the '90s Bills. There were always games like this, and today's result had a lot more to do with circumstances and crap than it did the quality of the teams. Also, the injuries suck, but the season isn't over. Every team deals with major injuries at some point.

All that being said, yes, I will avoid mainstream football media all week because the narratives are going to be nauseating.

And, the expectations this year should probably be a Wild Card team, unless Miami gets similarly struck with injuries.

The Jaguars are not better than the Bills.

This game came down to a failure by the Bills offense. They were healthy and the unbelievably injured defense kept giving them opportunities, but they couldn't do anything against a Jacksonville defense that seemed to have their number -- again, I think that was one of the biggest factors going into this game. Belief is a huge thing in football that doesn't get talked about enough.
