  1. I think the Browns will be competing with the lesser of Colts/Texans for that 6th seed. The Bills will be either #1 or #5, depending on how things go with the Patriots.

The two teams with a shot at the #1 seed appear to be the Patriots and Bills...

Kansas City is going to take more lumps with Mahomes out

Houston and Indianapolis will continue to grind in that division with the winner being 9-7 or 10-6

Baltimore will win the division but probably finish 10-6 or so

The #2 seed could really be 10-6 this year. It's crazy. The Bills could be 12-4 and be stuck with the 5 seed despite a better record than the 4, 3, and 2 seeds.

But here's the interesting thing... We are one New England injury away from being the favorite for the #1 seed, folks, and we have a fighting chance for it even without that. Beane needs to go all in to put the pieces in place to secure that #1 seed! It's ALL about New England. Jets beat them tonight and the race for #1 is officially ON...

  2. This is not a good result for the Bills. Are the Eagles really going to lose three in a row? They'll be desperate. You'd have really liked to see Philly win tonight.

Doug Pederson is 1-4 in second away games. Hope they’re too eager to get home this time too.

This will be the third in a row though, not the second.

I'm not sure what thread you're talking about having been locked.  We have a number of positive and negative threads.

There's a perfectly useable, neutral "what are your expectations?" thread where the OP put in a great deal of effort - it was never locked but slipped off the first page for lack of activity.  Therefore in accord with board policy, one duplicative negative thread and one duplicative positive thread have been merged with it.

Thanks for the response. The thread I was referring to is titled "Anybody else concerned this team might not be for real?" It's at the bottom of the first page at the moment.

  4. Let's just be abundantly clear here. 9-point lead for the Lions. They get a sack on third down, and a late flag comes in for illegal use of hands to the face. Completely bogus call. Packers score TD. Then Lions throw deep and Packers commit interference, but it's not called. Then Packers drive and are stopped on third down, but another bogus flag comes in for illegal use of hands to the face. This allows Packers to run out the clock and kick a field goal to win as time expires. The refs took control of and changed the outcome of the final three drives of the game, directly causing an illegitimate Packers win.

  5. Crazy how many good teams there are in the NFC.

In the AFC, it seems pretty clear... Swap the Raiders for the Colts and I think those are your playoff teams.

The weakness of the AFC HAS to have Bills management thinking about what they could make of this season... It won't be like this every year.

Thank you for that scintillating correction.  I stand in awe of your perspicacity.  You are a towering example of truth and brilliance to all of us, and a credit to the board.

And if you haven't figure it out yet, I'll tell you what I really think when you hit 250 posts.

I find it odd that you seem to measure posters' worth based on their level of activity on the board, as if that has some bearing on the validity of their perspectives. Someone could be the world's #1 football expert, just coming to this board for the first time, and you'd still belittle him and his post count just because you've been on this particular forum longer? Seems ignorant.

Average yearly turnover is between 6-7.  Big question is what teams, other than WAS, do it in-season.

Kitchens is horrible; should have never been promoted.

    Garrett is done.

Quinn is likely done, unless they make a very unlikely Super Bowl run.

    Tomlin is done.

    Rivera is done.

That makes six, with Gruden already gone.

    I can't see any other in-season firings.

Flores and Gase are both on the bubble.  Could be a record year for turnover.

Stretch to say Tomlin and Rivera done. I don't think the majority of analysts would agree.
