http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nf...1-bledsoe_N.htm Yup, looks like he's done.

Cowboys released him, right?

While it's not too surprising, I do feel slightly bad. I wish the guy well.

Public trust? Because everyone likes the way it is, eh?

Crappy places you've never been.....

My mother-in-law's craft shows. -
I saw that Pantera tour too but at Darien Lake. That was the one where Phil hit the security guard in the head. It sucked because they didn't sell out and wound up opening the seating area to the GA folks (which means they paid half as much as I did but got in just as close). They only played like 6 songs because of that incident. I've seen Nickleback too, with Chevelle, though I missed *all* of Chevelle due to Atlanta traffic. That was my wife's first. Another good one was the Metallica at Darien Lake in 1994.

First one was Therapy? after Nurse -OR- Aerosmith; I don't remember which was first. The best show.... Ok, here it goes... I've seen Metallica 16 times now. It's a habit of mine really. Two of those concerts were in Melbourne Australia, I believe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (may have been Tennis Center for all of you Aussies we have here). I spent about 6 weeks with some friends out in Croydon, Victoria. I used to run a Metallica related fan site (www.intersandman.com). About 4 months prior to my trip down under, I started posting "Play Killing Time in Melbourne!" on that web site and on various fan forums around the 'net. Mostly as a gag. I had bought tickets to that show months ahead of time - to two shows, they were playing back to back. The first show was uneventful. The second show, though, was a blast. I walked up to the will call and asked if they had any tickets or passes for me because I had a "friend" that kind of worked for them. Surprise, they did. Nice. But they didn't leave just two, they left four. There were only two of us. I ended up giving the extra tickets/passes to a couple of teenagers that didn't even have seats to the show. About 2/3 of the way through the concert, I heard the intro to "Killing Time." I had seen them 8 or 9 times at this point and had never heard Killing Time live. Could it be? Nah. They got about half way through the song and stopped playing it. I was excited, but not sure if it was "for me." Well, as I had those passes, I went to the after show meet and greet. I didn't get a chance to bring it up with anyone as the lines were huge, never got to meet any of those guys. I think Lars and Jason showed up to sign autographs. On the way to the car, though, we took the back way out. Half way down the side walk a black minivan pulled up and a big santa-clause looking guy got out and started pushing kids back against the fence. Kirk got out after the guy and proceeded to sign autographs for the lucky kids who just happened to be walking out late. He came to me and asked my name and whatnot.. I told him. He must have caught my accent (or lack thereof) and asked where I was from. I told him the 1 minute version of the story and he said, "Yes! You're Jeff? The Intersandman.com guy? We played what we could remember for you tonight, sorry we couldn't do more!" He then signed my shirt that I had with me and jumped back in the van. Since then I've worked the fan club booth and whatnot at a couple shows. It's always very fun. Meet some cool people and swap some stories. Good stuff. That was my favorite concert. http://www.bootlegs.ws/met/met98-04-06.html Jeff

"The Sopranos" Final Season Thread

Could it be as predictable... he rats in order to stay with his family? -
Yeah, we've been watching it to. Sigorney Weaver does the narration and she's also a producer. Great series.

NJ tied it with 0.8 seconds left. -
Yeah, I came across that a couple weeks ago. I spent a good chunk of time trying to figure out how to get it to skip across the Pacific.

Could be anything from dark brown to the color of the thread holding the leather together. -
On a human level, I feel bad for the guy, of course. He obviously has some issues and I do hope he's got that worked out. It's sad to see people with talent like his have problems like that. I also firmly believe every should get a second chance. People screw up; that's how we learn. There's more insight than you realize. He's gotten his second chance, and his third, and his fourth. At some point in time the chances have to stop coming. He's a role model and a professional athlete. He's not a 13 year old kid having discipline problems. Every kid watching learns that they can commit the same offense over and over with minimal consequence. I agree with you. It wasn't a violent crime. He's not a terrible person. He doesn't belong in jail. I have my doubts as to if he belongs in the NFL, though. Millions choose to respect the rules in order to remain employed, why should he be any different? Couple that with the unlimited chances and it doesn't sit right with me. It's not about smoking pot. I don't care about the actual offense one bit. Get stoned and eat a box of Twinkies; that is none of my business. It's not even a pot issue.

That about sums it up.

It's apples and oranges to me. Of course I wouldn't want a guy that's playing as you describe Price's play. Ricky on the other hand has broken the law at least four times, ignored the consequences (both legal and NFL dictated), and gets yet another shot at it because he plays good football. How many real world workplaces have "four strikes and maybe perhaps you're out, we're not quite sure" polices? Regardless, I'm sure he'll be reinstated and he'll probably be an asset to whichever team he plays for. I'd personally like to see the NFL (MLB, NBA, NHL) be a bit more strict when it comes to enforcing this kind of stuff. The head hits in the NHL, the steroids, the thug attitude in the NBA. There's no place for that crap in professional sports.

They ought to deny it. It was his forth suspension. Right up there with those juiced up baseball players. I don't understand why these guys get chance after chance. When the whole world is looking at you and you're a role model to thousands of kids, you get one chance. Screw it up and you can fall back on your Physical Education degree.

Whatever the reasoning, it was a stupid thing to put on that label. That I agree with. I have real trouble believing it was intentional though. It would be like an American company shipping bathing suits called "Wetback Shorts" to Mexico and expecting them to sell. No point in arguing it though. I guess if the Chinese company has four employees and is run out of a small garage it's possible. I just don't see it happening intentionally at a larger company. Too many unknowns I guess. -
Yeah, that makes sense I guess. I just miss that good old EQ addiction, that's all. One. More. Kill. One. More. Bubble.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but did they confirm they've actually cancelled it rather than simply rescheduled it? I'm sure they've had these interviews scheduled for weeks now. I'd bet they put JP off until the end now so they don't have to reschedule everyone *else* just to keep them in the same order. That box is probably manned by an intern who is simply going to click delete. Of course, that's assuming that the email filter at the edge doesn't bounce it due to the content first.
-
That was another reason I had for quitting it when I first tried it a while back. Back in the EQ days, you would get a gang of 4 - 6 people together and go crawl through a zone smashing baddies. Everyone had their role and it was very "scientific." It doesn't seem that anyone cares about putting much thought into that when playing WoW. Everyone choses to solo. It seems to me that the major draw to an MMORPG is the 'MMO' portion. What's the point of playing an MMO if it's going to be treated as a fancy single player game? When I play games like this, it's all about grouping and taking down bigger baddies.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that some furniture shop in Shanghai would choose to print a term they understand is derogatory to at least 12.06% of their target market. Even if it was a full fledged reference to skin color, that doesn't mean it was intended to do harm. (Note that was a stupid thing to print regardless of the reasoning, I'm not arguing that. I just have trouble believing it was intentional.) Didn't some big American company do something like this in Russia not too long ago? Different words and phrases have a different meanings in different cultures. I learned real quick that the term "root" has a different meaning to some Australians when I mentioned "RotoRooter" down there. I was laughed at like you wouldn't believe.
