Suspensions One thing to note, according to Espn article regarding suspensions: "Jones' suspension could be longer or shorter depending on developments in that case, an official with knowledge of the details of the suspension told The Associated Press. He requested anonymity because the Las Vegas case is still pending." Due process does need be followed .

Do not be at all surprised if he will stay on this week for the Imus Telethon , resign. Then go on the circuit for a number of months, show himself a good guy and then be signed by Sirius.....

Imus MSNBC and CBS have decided to suspend Don Imus for two weeks following his reference last week to members of the Rutgers women's basketball team as "nappy-headed hos." MSNBC first announced it would suspend telecasting Imus' radio program for two weeks, beginning April 16.. A short time later, CBS announced it will suspend its broadcast of Imus' radio program for the same two week period. Despite apologies from Imus on Friday and Monday, the suspension will start next Monday, MSNBC said in a written statement. "Don Imus has expressed profound regret and embarrassment and has made a commitment to listen to all of those who have raised legitimate expressions of outrage," it said. "In addition, his dedication -- in his words -- to change the discourse on his program moving forward, has confirmed for us that this action is appropriate. Our future relationship with Imus is contingent on his ability to live up to his word." Two of the nation's biggest media companies -- CBS Corp. and NBC Universal -- will ultimately decide the fate of Imus' daily program.

Eddie the Eagle Goaltender Ed Belfour and winger Ville Peltonen "were at Nikki Beach around 1 a.m. when they were asked to leave for disorderly conduct. When the pair refused to leave, an officer responded to the scene." As the officer approached the men, Belfour got into a fighting position, and the two got into a scuffle, which forced the officer to taser Belfour. Belfour, no stranger to the police blotter, had recently had an on-ice meltdown, so his off-ice meltdown is unsurprising, if not predictable. As for Peltonen, his on-ice demeanor (just 34 minor penalties, no majors, no misconducts in 247 career games) makes him something of a surprise participant in the tomfoolery -- it's good to see Eddie the Eagle's veteran leadership rubbing off on one of the younger (though not young) guys. Belfour was charged with disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest without violence, while Peltonen was booked on criminal mischief charges. There's no word on what bail was set at, though as long as it was less than $1 billion, Belfour would have presumably had it covered.

Moral of this story, try to smoke a Dubie and you will end up Stoned....... -
Islanders ahead of Devils 1 - 0 after two. It does look very likely as if the Sabres will play the Islanders. This one goal lead almost looks like ten today...

Be careful , they all seem to think today is good Friday and not Easter ...... -
The young ladies made butter and baked yesterday. Made Easter Paska, schnitz pie, which is apple slices with butter and brown sugar, with crumbs on top, that is baked at 350 until juices bubble and carmalized. Made some strawberry and Elderberry pies as well, plus some gingerbread cookies for dunking. This morning they put the Ham in oven, and prepared the vegetables, carrots , broccoli, peas. potatoes. Put some apple cider and coffee on the table and this made everyone smile. Oh they also made some ice cream, which is nice.

Note , this is what the prognosticators are saying. I am not really into debating what the Leafs will or won't do against the Sabre's as though it would be of any real consequence. Its my opinion the Leafs would be the easiest of three teams for Sabres to play. My hope is the Leafs do not make playoffs, that they will fire their current General Manager , find a man who will make better decisions and I will not have to listen to the crap I currently have to hear from haters of my team. -

Alright , alright, you are aware the award goes to each years best U.S College Hockey player. It is a consequential award for U.S hockey. ( good grief you had me google what on earth is the Chandler Bing Award ) I also wonder do Buffalo hockey fans follow the exploits of Buffalo's Patrick Kane. He plays for the OHA's London Knights is the Leagues leading scorer and at present with team in playoffs so far in 6 games has 6 goals , 8 assists for 14 points. Kane is said to be this years first pick in the NHL draft. Not bad for a Buffalo guy. Would it not be cool if somehow he could be a Sabre.

millbank replied to millbank's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Entire other game as you know in playoff Dave. Montreal a goalie and power play team with players position by position , amongst the worst in plus minus in league. Plus they a team in open war with management. Islanders have been better than either Leafs or Montreal all season. Anyway, dont you all want to be chanting Dubie, Dubie, Dubie as you smoke the Islanders......
