I think it's funny Sanders took exception to the Bills going for Diggs just 30 minutes after he told them he'd think about it.  LOL!

I suspect that Sanders thought he was our #1 want at WR, maybe his ego was realigned a bit... no matter though, we got the better player, although getting both of them would have been nice, Beane doesn’t mess around, it shows that this isn’t the old Buffalo Bills anymore, ya snooze ya lose.

  2. Well,  being that they in effect fired him and rehired him for less money I don’t think he is considered a key guy, he may not make the team. Being that they resigned DW last year for two year deal, I suspect they don’t hold IM as important of a piece on the team. Okay signing but nothing to write home about.

I never heard of him either so here is what I found:

Mike Clay is a writer and analyst for ESPN who contributes year-round NFL, fantasy football and NASCAR insight across the company’s multimedia platforms.

He appears on a variety of shows, including SportsCenter, Fantasy Football Now, The Fantasy Show with Matthew Berry on ESPN+, NFL Live and the Fantasy Focus Football Podcast. Clay’s award-winning player projections help power the ESPN Fantasy Football game. His fantasy content and rankings cover all aspects of the game, including season-long, dynasty, IDP and auction formats.

Clay is also the host of Next Level Fantasy Football on Sirius XM. He is a member of the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) and is on the Fantasy Sports Writers Association (FSWA) Board of Directors (Chairman) and Hall of Fame voting committee.

Clay has been instrumental in bringing innovative statistics and data to the forefront of the fantasy industry, including player snap and route data. Now key elements of most fantasy football analysis, this information was all but non-existent prior to the 2010s.

Clay also introduced Wide Receiver vs. Cornerback matchups in 2015 – now a mainstream industry concept. Clay has created several advanced football statistics, including average depth of target (aDOT), opportunity-adjusted touchdowns (OTD), opportunity-adjusted fantasy points (OFP) and fantasy points over replacement player (FORP). Clay is also known for his work with personnel packages, game-flow-adjusted play-calling, touchdown regression to the mean, yards after contact, and box defenders.

Clay won the 2013 Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA) award for most-accurate preseason player rankings. He won the FSWA award for the best online article in 2013 and the 2014 PFWA Dick Conner Writing Award in the Enterprise Features category.

Prior to ESPN, Clay was Managing Editor and Director at Pro Football Focus Fantasy, which he launched in 2010. Clay also contributed at NBC’s Rotoworld.com, Athlon Sports and PhiladelphiaEagles.com. He was featured as a Virtual Analyst in EA Sports’ Madden 25 and 2015 video games.

Originally from Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Clay is a 2007 graduate of Kutztown University where he was Sports Editor of The Keystone newspaper and a sports radio broadcaster for three years.

Thanks for looking him up. Just can’t bring myself to give a sh-t about fantasy football anything, It doesn’t register in my Bills fan life. In this case he doesn’t exist, just like PFF.

you cannot add language to a CBA after the vote.  In that case, the remedy is NOT a re-vote on the CBA, but rather, no arbitrator would abide by the language when the union files a grievance.  it's very difficult to have a re-vote on a CBA.

Also, the language implying that this was done nefariously is ridiculous.  Typos often happen before the final CBA is distributed.  The Union would be all over a typo and it would be fixed.

    Maybe, maybe not..

I hated the PED Murphy contract from day 1. And I think Beane screwed up not using the 5th year guarantee.  Lawson has outplayed Murphy and if I had to choose between the two I cut Murphy and try to bring Lawson back. But Lawson was never coming back was my guess. I was not articulate in my post. I think the guys Beane signed will be able to replace Lawson and Phillips reasonably well.

I see your view, but the Ped thing makes me chuckle, being their use is rampant throughout the league.

The point is, its not comparing apples to apples.  They want the same play to dominate a significantly lesser sport.  Guess what, if the mens team was in that sport it would dominate the womens team as well as all the others.  If they want to be paid the same then they should be playing with the men in one league.  But claiming the same pay, same resources, same opportunities etc., for a totally distinct league is craziness.  Then they make a huge deal about it, but don't have the guts to boycott the World Cup or anything meaningful at all really.  Please.

Nothin but luv for ya, but you’re a bit confused comparing apples to apples is how one compares things. Oh and buy the way women’s soccer is already a totally different league, and they are dominant in that league, on the other hand, the US men’s team is not very good, and is considered an afterthought by world soccer.

If Reid is correct (and the contract language was changed after the vote), that is a ridiculously shady move by the NFL owners and should absolutely invalidate the CBA.

However, you shouldn't use something like this to make blanket statements about anyone.  Being rich and successful does not make someone evil, greedy or untrustworthy.  Many billionaires are extremely generous and giving.

I said “ many” not all.

Oh please.  The men would destroy them in a game.  Absolutely destroy them.

Hardly the point, and you know that,  the men don’t win anything substantial, the women win world championships, who is representing our country better, and for a longer time period? It sure ain’t the mens soccer team. Comparatively the women’s team is the Patriots, and men’s team is the Cleveland Browns.
    Results speak for themselves.

Just do what the US woman's soccer team does...complain about how unfair it is that they agreed to the contract and then try and force the governing body to redo it because of media pressure. They get the best of both worlds. They don't have to risk losing their guaranteed money by holding out and collectively bargained contracts mean nothing anymore in court apparently.

Well, the US women are putting up a much better product than the men,  and have done so for a long time. It’s like any pro athlete wanting to get paid their worth ( Jordan Poyer )

  10. Unless Josh makes a very substantial improvement in his game, he will not be in the running for MVP.  If Josh does improve as we all want him to, he will be in the conversation,  a lot will depend on his receivers actually catching  a very high percentage of his passes. Jmo.

    Go Bills!!!

  11. If the language change happened after the vote ( which it appears to be the case) it violates the CBA and a re-vote is now a must, just shows you cannot trust billionaires to keep their word, not that that is shocking by any means...the slip shod health care for retired players is shameful, being that it is of no consequential financial burden for the owners to not revoke their previous funding.  This shines a bad light on the NFL as a whole.  GREED is an ugly trait that many people are afflicted with.

  12. Being that already 25%of the leagues cities are already virus hot zones, Folk should have it in their minds that there may very well not be a season being that the virus is continuing to spread all over America. It’s time to put on the big boy pants and buck up and Face the facts, this is not going away any time soon. Do I want the season to be played? of course I do, but only if this virus is under control, and right now people are spreading it at a high rate all over the country. It’s big boy pants time.  Yah it sucks...

Stay healthy Bills Nation, prayers are with you all.

  13. I feel for Dawkins, I would hate to see my brother in a similar circumstance. In a sense our health care workers face a similar situation, hundreds of thousands of infected people are under their care and they are the bulwark that fights the spread. It is a sad situation at best, when a segment of our society pretends it is a fabrication of the media it only makes everything harder to bring under control.

    Keep healthy Bills Nation!!!
