Buffalo is cold, dead, nothing to do there, no one wants to live there, FA go there to die, lost 4 SB, Music City Forward Lateral, 1 playoff appearance in 20 years, and the Pats have won many SB while dominating the division for years. The media narrative has been built up for about 20 years now. :censored: 'm, :censored:'m all, especially now that we're building something legit.

And, we don't have a STAR or Media grabbing player on the team.  Shady was the media focus for the past few years.

  2. I love the Bills being ignored.  It’s our little secret about a great overall team and organization. A small TV market location and a team with a history of losing doesn’t grab big NFL headlines.

It seems that NFL game day announcers have a script for the Bills that includes looking for imperfections in Josh Allen’s play or the ‘big mistake’.   And, why do I keep hearing that the defense is playing well in a game while our rankings last year and currently tell a much larger story of excellence?

Let the Rams, Patriots, Chiefs and Cowboys get all the attention.  We don’t get the big ratings or deserve the glamour team status.  That’s fine with me.

He is regressing.  For example, he doesn't even slide anymore on runs, which he finally started doing late last year.  Then there's the lousy footwork and the insistence on making something out of nothing and not throwing the ball away when things break down.

Agree with above but the question still remains - -who is coaching Josh??  Our QB coach is an unknown and certainly the Offensive co-coordinator doesn't spend time coaching the QB???

Although Brady spent some time celebrating the win on social media Monday, he had a much different reaction during an interview on Westwood One Radio. Apparently, Brady was so upset with his performance in Buffalo that it ruined his flight home.

"Yeah, I mean, the flight home [on Sunday] sucked. The night of sleep sucked," Brady said, via NBC Sports Boston. "You watch the film, and that sucks, and then you just lick your wounds, and you get up and you try to do better the next week."

This is typical Patriot BS.  Done to make the losers feel good.

Palmer is absolutely not more a spiritual guru than a coach. He's a mechanics and QB play guru, if anything.

Read an interview with Palmer sometime last year when he said that when he was with the Bears he was the 3rd stringer and didn't feel he was helping the team much and he felt he knew the offense inside-and-out so he thought that to help the team he would sit at a desk in the lobby of the facility at night and guys could come and ask him questions about the offense and just details and techniques. He did that several nights a week and each time he did for hours there would be multiple guys there asking him questions they weren't getting help with from coaches who didn't have time. He knows football.

And there's no evidence the Bills recommended it. He started with Palmer before they drafted him.

    Please.

Brady gets yelled at on the sidelines. This isn't even a molehill, it's a grain of sand on the side of a molehill.

Come on - - comparing Josh with Tom is pitiful!

My goodness. It’s really is as if some of you think of Allen as a little baby.

I think a lot of fans have been thinking that.  Now that the diapers are off he needs to produce!

  6. I didn’t like seeing Daboll ridiculing Josh on the bench after an interception this past Sunday.  Tapping his forehead as if to say “THINK”.   That made many NFL highlight shows.

Where is Allen’s QB coach Ken Dorsey?  He supposedly helped Cam Newton with the Panthers.

Josh has been working for 2 years in CA with Jordan Palmer’s private Company “QB Summit”.  They stress footwork and include ‘yoga on the beach’!!  Jordan Palmer completed 11 passes in the NFL career and is really a spiritual guru rather than a coach/trainer.  Tyree Jackson from UB studied with him before the ’19 draft.  Has this helped at all and did the Bills recommend this training?

It appears Josh is regressing with basic QB skills.  The NFL teams now have  had 2 years to scout his play.  I can see him ending the year with the same numbers as last season.  That’s not good enough.

    Pure speculation.

This has been covered here 50 times.  Go watch the first half of the MNF game against the Browns.  After tossing all those INTs he pledged to Dick Jauron that he would never to attempt a pass beyond 10 yards again.  And he never did.

Pure speculation as in Josh Allen has the mindset to be a decent NFL QB?

Spare me all of your "he played the best game of his career coming off his concussion."

He had weeks to prepare coming off a bye, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder takes up to a month, sometimes years to manifest.

Post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms may start within one month of a traumatic event, but sometimes symptoms may not appear until years after the event.

Edwards was NEVER the same after getting stretched out.

I agree.  Something happened that made it appear he didn't want to play anymore.

  9.  In 2008, with Trent Edwards starting at QB, the Bills went 4-0 to begin the season.  After his concussion playing AZ he and the team were never the same.

I hope Josh recovers fully and not just because of football.

    FROM USA TODAY:

Trent Edwards of the Buffalo Bills has fallen from possible MVP to a shaky quarterback—at best. The second year QB looked like an up and coming star through the first few weeks of the season. He was becoming one of the young poster boys for the NFL. He made appearances on ESPN’s NFL Countdown; Rome is Burning, PTI, ESPN the Magazine and everything in between. Some were even calling the 25 year old quarterback the next Tom Brady and a candidate for the MVP.

That changed over the course of the season, and it may have to do with a concussion that Edwards faced in Week five against the Arizona Cardinals. He was knocked out of that game and took the bye week off to rest.

    So what exactly happened?

Edwards now looks sluggish and his decision making has turned into that of a certain Bills QB (JP) that is currently sitting on the bench.  He has thrown terrible interceptions, fumbled, overlooked open receivers, thrown off his back foot regularly and even been stripped while stretching for a first down.

Edwards has gone 3-7 after a 4-0 start to the season.

Is the concussion still lingering???  Is there permanent damage?  He definitely isn’t the same player!

I'm not usually one to stop good discussion, but this seems way premature. We actually have a pretty decent team this year. Let it play out and enjoy the season and then make your final evaluations. I know in Buffalo over the last couple of decades, the offseason has been the best part of the year, because it was the only time to have some hope that things might get better. But to be having offseason-type of discussions after just 4 games seems a bit too early for me. What if Trent picks up his game and comes up with 9 sacks like he did a few years ago? What if Lee Smith doesn't have another penalty the rest of the year, but is a monster blocking for the run game? Etc. It might not happen, but there are still 12 games to play, so who knows right now.

On a good / decent team it's always the time to look at upgrades.  Trent has 19 total career sacks & he's gone down hill since his PED suspension in 2017.

Think the GM evaluates a player based on the team's overall performance?  Doubtful.

Yes, individuals contribute, but at what cost are they to the team?  Trent Murphy playing the LDE position at his salary may be able to be replaced with someone on a rookie contract and provide similar production.  I am using Murphy merely as an example.

People want to sign everyone, but there's going to be trade-offs.  For example, I doubt if Dawson Knox continues to improve that Kroft is back next season. That said, the Bills haven't once had to make a decision on someone drafted by this regime, but that begins to change this off-season when White, Dawkins, and Milano are eligible for extensions.  Not to mention those on 1 year deals.

Excellent points!  Tough decisions have to be made this off-season and it won't be as easy.

I love how our defense completely shut down the Pats and have kept us in all of our games, yet people are willing to write off two starters on our defensive line.

Stop looking at individual stats and start looking at the overall team performance.

We didn’t get a single sack on Brady last Sunday, so they sucked right?

The point of the thread was the SALARY CAP!  If we can't beat the PATS next year some changes will happen - correct?

Then there are players we signed to 1 year contracts.

    Frank Gore

    TJ Yeldon

    Quinton Spain

    Jordan Phillips

    Lorenzo Alexander

Should we re-sign any of them?

Sorry if I didn't list all of the players. This was all I could remember.

Was Andre Roberts a 1 year signing?

Andre got a 2 year deal!

The other one they could get rid of next year with little cap hit is Kroft.  If Knox and Sweeney keep developing, think it may happen.

Actually think it may come down to him or Smith

He could be cut and never have played a down for the team.

He signed a 3 year, $18.75M contract with the Bills.  His Dead Cap in 2020 is only $1.6M.  He may just stay if he can play!!!

  15. 1.       Trent Murphy with 3 assisted tackles in 4 games.  In 2020 his Dead Cap hit will be $1,750,000.  GONE

    2.       Lee Smith signed a 3 year $9M contract this year.  In 2020 his Dead Cap hit will be $1M. GONE

    3.       Shaq Lawson is a UFA for 2020.  SIGN HIM

S-    Star Lotulelei signed a 5 YEAR $50m contract. His Dead Cap is $19M this year but drops to $8M in 2020.   KEEP HIM UNTIL 2021

It was a turning point because although we didn't know it at the time, it was the reason for the dawning of the DREW BLEDSOE BILLS DYNASTY!

Oh Yes!  We didn't know about Bill B then but why would he trade Bledsoe to the Bills within his division???

    24 minutes ago, KayAdams said:

I wonder if there was a specific day where Belichick said, "Screw it, let's just cheat." If so, I would mark that day as the turning point.

Don't you think every HC TRIES to cheat but can't pull it off.  In 2001 the Patriots were nothing special.

  17. Tom Brady started his 1st NFL game vs. the Colts on this date.  The PATS were 0-2  and headed no where.  Brady threw for just 159 yards in his debut win but then led the team to a 10-6 record & a Super Bowl win.

In that 2001 season the Bills finished 3-13 but nearly knocked NE our of 1st place in the AFC East.  On December 16th, playing at home before just 45,000 fans, the Bills forced the PATS into overtime but lost 12-9.  Adam Vinateri kicked a 23 yard FG for the win.    Brady was sacked 5 times with Aaron Schobel recording 2 as  Alex Van Pelt threw for 219 yards in defeat.

All Field Goals in the game with NO touchdowns and Brady threw for 237 yards in his first start in Buffalo.

WHO WOULD HAVE PREDICTED THE REST OF THE STORY!

definitely not a banner day for McDermott.  A bunch of issues today, but the worst I think was not kicking the FG on the 4th and goal. Backup QB against a top defense, not a good recipe for success. Three point game changes things on that final drive.

Agreed!  The last Bills drive could have been for a tie and not desperation!!!

  19. I love his enthusiasm and organizational skills.  He puts a competitive team on the field each week and that's a big plus over our past few HC's.

The Bills have a great defense (Sean's specialty) and have invested a lot of money into the offense over the past year.

IMO he is just too nervous, hyper and 'jumpy' to be a great game day coach.  Too much sideline arguing with officials, poor decisions on challenges and a lack of discipline when critical plays  need to me made on offense.  He seems to make knee-jerk calls on 4th downs and is especially poor in game appropriate strategy decisions  regarding the overall flow of the game.

    Please Sean - calm down.
