What's the difference between Canadian style and the American style?  I tried lookng on the net but couldn't find anything.  The only thing I noticed is that they sometimes play on concrete north of the border.  I played outdoor in high school and college and indoor during the summers.  I enjoyed the indoor game becuase it was faster and less running than I did playing outdoor as a midfielder.  It pretty rough. When I played (In the 80's) cross checking inside the arc was legal even without the ball and fighting common.  Also the rink owners did not have AC and it was f-ing hot in there.    There was a pro team called the Grey Wolves in my town (Rochester) and I played with some of those guys and they knew all the tricks. A lot of fun

Growing up I watched quite a few Grey Wolves games at Lakeshore Rinks. Fast and physical and I loved it.

I'm shocked that a guy with a screen name referencing a mediocre tight end would be defending this mediocre tight end.   I'm shocked I tell you!

Just kidding, hoss.  We really all hope he turns into Gronk, but that ain't how our offense works.

I believe the screen name references Bob Chandler.

FWIW, I wouldn't want to argue with your friend's perception, but whereas Dawson Knox has a lot of "scored drops" (meaning balls trained observers believe a competent WR should catch), Kumerow has this: (click to embiggen)

I enjoy the use of the word embiggen. It's a perfectly cromulent word

@Cripple Creek has generally relied on my scouting when putting together his Bigger Board. Davis rated as a "light blue" on my Board.  Rather than grades from 1-10 I choose color coded ranking systems that go from "white" (vanilla, bleh) to "fire engine red" (cherry, hot). It also keeps people from stealing my homework because they have no idea what "mauve" or "turquoise" represents.  Suffice it to say, Davis rates light blue and my rating will be proven come November.

Arm swap length is an algorithm I created which incorporates some analytics and genetic tendencies.  I look at a player's background and family history, measure the length from the base of the thumb to the top of the tricep (subtract out the circumference of the funny bone/elbow) and multiply by pie. That gives me a rating which is then multiplied by family genetic history adopting those same measurables to predict how likely he is to wrestle the ball from defenders (i.e. swapping possession of the ball from CB to WR on underthrown or inaccurate passes). My final score is an indication of whether the WR is more likely to gain possession from the CB or safety.

What kind of pie? Your choice or do you let the player choose?

  5. Trying to sneak a kicker onto the PS is how they lost Dustin Hopkins. Chase McLaughlin was waived at the end of training camp and picked up within 24 hours, my guess is the same thing happened.

The big leg is all well and good, but a kicker worth keeping has to be accurate.  They also need to have a good head on their shoulders where they forget the missed kicks so it doesn't affect them going forward.

Beane commented in one of his conference calls (late Sunday call?) that Bass sat down with a psychologist or similar in the Bills organization for an hour or so before the draft. So, there's that. ?

The mistake with Aguayo was he did not kick many long kicks in college. He could kick long but not accurate (anyone need kickoff specialist?).

What about Sebastian Janikowski, the Polish Pounder, selected by the Oakland Raiders 17th overall in the 2000 NFL Draft?

He was a weapon for Raiders for many years.

You mean The Polish Cannon. "The Polish Pounder" was a movie I was in in College.
