  1. "Vedvik capped his college career impressively in 2017 when he punted and handled kickoff and field goal duties.

He was named First-Team All-Conference USA as a punter after punting 59 times for 2,597 yards (44.0 yards per punt) and placing 26 of the 59 inside the 20-yard line.

Opponents returned just 16 of the 59 punts for a meager total of 62 yards, which helped Vedvik rank in the top 10 for fewest punt return yards allowed by punters with at least 55 attempts.

Vedvik’s punting prowess was highlighted by a 92-yard effort against Old Dominion on Oct. 14, 2017, the seventh-longest punt in FBS history and longest by an FBS punter in 45 years.

Additionally, Vedvik averaged 63.6 yards per kickoff and recorded touchbacks on 32 of 60 kickoffs.

He made 10 of 16 field goals and 41 of 42 extra points."

From what I have seen, he seems to be focusing on just punting in the NFL.

    Some more:

"Vedvik totaled 33 points for the Ravens during the 2018 preseason, which ranked fourth in the NFL.

He was 8-for-9 on field goals and 9-for-9 on extra points. Vedvik’s only miss was from 53 yards. His long was from 56, and it occurred in the preseason finale.

Between the preseason finale and final roster reductions, Vedvik was a victim in a late-night assault in Baltimore. His injuries led the Ravens to place him on Reserve/Non-Football Injury, and Vedvik worked his way back to his 2019 preseason debut last Thursday against Jacksonville.

Vedvik went 4-for-4 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points. His 14 points lead the NFL this preseason. He was successful on kicks from 55, 45, 26 and 29 yards.

Vedvik averaged 55.5 yards on two punts with a long of 58 and a net of 48.0.

He also handled six kickoffs after three-time All-Pro Justin Tucker handled the Ravens first two kickoffs of the game."

They are also playing the worst D in the league vs the deep ball and choosing to play the WR who has had the best deep ball connection with Allen. Can’t activate everyone.  Jet sweeps can still be run with Beasley or Roberts.

If I'm not mistaken, Foster has run them as well.

The narrative with Glenn will be they "needed" to trade him to move up in the draft to get Allen.... like there was no other way possible to move up in the draft. ?

I never liked that trade. I would've rather they traded a future pick to move up to get Allen rather than an established, GOOD NFL left tackle.

I believe the bigger narrative was his lack of an ability to stay on the field.

I don't know if you've observed this, but from what I can tell McCoy appears to have become a bit of a player-coach and mentor to Allen on the field

Several times now, I've seen Shady gesturing to Allen in what looks like a signal - before ALLEN takes off and runs.
I have seen Shady signalling or gesturing to Allen before the snap and Allen making adjustments

Shady has become a willing blocker, and you know, he's not FredEx but he ain't bad either.  He gets 'er done.

It appears to me that Allen is learning from some of Shady's moves, and not just dance moves.   Allen didn't have moves like that at the start of the season when he ran!
Shady is the one who pulled Allen out of the pile and kept him away after Kiko's late hit, preventing injury and ejection.

If the Bills feel Shady contributes enough in some capacity to be worth the $3.8M difference between cutting him and keeping him, I don't have a problem with it

Beane has squandered almost as much money on players who have contributed way less (eg Coleman's $3.5M guaranteed, yeah I'm still salty on that)

They are good Friends as well. There was an Instagram story on Halloween where Shady was out trick or treating and commented on a Bills jersey coming at him with his number on it and he said "there's another one Josh" and panned over and Josh was walking with him and his son. Josh just shook his head and smiled. So, they do hang out outside of work too.

He wasn't hurt when they signed Anderson, which was two weeks before.

"Barkley tore the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during this year’s preseason finale with the Cincinnati Bengals and was placed on injured reserve, only to be released with an injury settlement. He was medically cleared to return to the field shortly before signing with the Bills."

I guess shortly could be two weeks, but like someone said, they were comfortable with Anderson.

The general consensus around the league the last 50 years is that your back-up QB should be able to hold the fort if your starter goes down. Not win games for you but not lose them either. And if you can break even, say, go 2-2 if your starter misses four games versus 0-4 or 1-3, you have a good back-up. Barkley is not that guy and five teams have already decided that.

This isn't a question of experience or a guy finally getting it. Barkley "got it" a long time ago. His physical limitations are what always did and always will hold him back. He's also capable of having games like he did against the Jets. He never had one like that in his whole career but he is capable of it if his weak-ass throws are not intercepted when they could or should be, like happened in that game. He's always been a smart guy with pretty good accuracy. But he's Peterman Plus and that ain't good enough, which is why the Bills are his sixth team.

Not sure who is going to be available. The Bills thought DA was a much better choice before they signed Barkley.

Barkley was hurt, he couldn't sign with anyone until he was cleared.
