  1. Good topic Jerry Rice Joe Montana Lawrence Taylor Ronnie Lott LaDainian Tomlinson Kellen Winslow Bobby Wagner Dan Fouts Tony Gonzalez So many to choose from but Montana was probably my favorite.
  2. I think the two biggest surprises that could happen are Bass and Miller. I don't think either will be cut but I would not be shocked either if they were. I am pretty much assuming Milano will be on PUP to start the season Cuts that should happen but won't are one of the following Gilliam and Hollins. I'd cut Gilliam and give Hollins a good look at WR#6. If you get rid of Gilliam you keep Morris as TE#3 and you can carry an extra OL like Collins for jumbo sets.
  3. Can't argue the stats. Diggs was one of my favorites. That said we don't know the gameplan nor how the defense played him. You think Davis gets 4 TD receptions against KC if they were designing a defense to take him away. Belichick took away Reed in SuperBowl XXV. I think any defense can take away a #1 WR if they want. Hell even McD can control Hill when he wants. Elite TE not the same story. Kincaid and Knox can be unstoppable this year if Brady lets them.
  4. His INTs will be down from 18 to 13 His INT rate will be a far more respectable 2.25% His YPA will fall to below 7 while his comp % increaes to a career high 70% with a greater emphasis on short easy throws. He will still struggle with deep fly pattern accuracy. He's just never been that great throwing a deep ball with arc. At this point I don't see it ever getting better. Just have to live with some missed deep throws from time to time. Good thing is he usually misses too far and avoids INTs on these throws.
  5. I hope so too. If not I don't think he will be on the team next year just like White was let go.
  6. I get where you are coming from. But he was playing at a high level prior to the ACL. It's a longer recovery for older players but he has had another 6 months to rehab and no brace now. I have little faith in anyone else on the roster getting to 10 sacks so I'm still sticking with my prediction Miller leads the team in sacks.
  7. Beane is in a tight spot with this one. That contract will be difficult to eat. Bills played several tight games last year and you have to figure with all the new offensive pieces they will take time to gel. That means a few more FG attempts and maybe less going for it on fourth down in the red zone Bills can't take all year to see if Bass figures it out. I'm not sure they can even survive September if he is struggling.
  8. You could be right but my guess is in the end Miller will lead the team in sacks. Now he could do that still with only 5 sacks which would be sad. I think he starts fast but age kicks in and he wears down by season end just like Floyd did. He probably gets to 10 sacks if he can get a couple late in the year and the Bills are still playing meaningful games in December.
  9. Allen with Reid would be far better than Mahommes with McDermott. My guess Allen with Reid turns the ball over less, runs less, but still scores at the same rate as he always has. Herbert with Harbaugh will be in this conversation by year end though It's the QBs job to not throw INTs. Score by run or pass makes no difference. YPA and int% are the two most critical stats for a QB.
  10. Agree. Really hoping he is a backup Bishop should start or they wasted a second round pick when there were bigger needs at WR and DL
  11. Brown was very good last year. Kudos to Beane for sticking with him. I think he's going to have a solid year and I hope they can extend him at a reasonable cost. If not they will need to let him walk. If they can extend him and Dawkins still is playing at a high level that means they can draft edge x 2 next year with two of their first 3 picks.
  12. One of my favorite players on the team. Even I lost faith in him after the drop that could have sealed the Giants game. He did have a wrist injury but was not much of a factor after coming back. Really hope he comes back strong with a 40-50 catch season.
  13. Good choice. He made some big kicks. I went back and watched the NY Giants game. He had two chances from ling range to put the game away and missed wide right both times. A bit of foreshadowing. He has the leg. Hope he starts to be more consistent.
  14. For me I'm going to go with A.J. Epenesa. I've been down on him since he was drafted. Last year however he finally seemed to have the body size you want in a modern 4-3 DE. He made more plays last year than he did the first 3 combined. If he can go from 4-6 sacks to 8-10 that would go a long way to taking pressure off Miller and Rousseau.
  15. Maybe a year too early but I'm going to predict Harbaugh v Harbaugh in the AFC Championship. So I will pick Harbaugh in the SB.
  16. I somewhat understand where you are coming from listing center. My counter to that concern, is that Morse was never more than solidly above average. He was never great. He was never really bad either. I think you can easily replace above average with McGovern, Anderson, or the Georgia kid. As for o-line I think Torrence is going to be a star, but many players have sophomore slumps. Just hope it is not him.
  17. He was losing to the 3rd string Dolphins QB at home in the third quarter. The defense blew a 17-0 lead and gave up 24 pts to a decimated Dolphins offense. A Josh fumble accounted for the other 7 points allowed. Glass half full his defense held them to multiple FGs on short fields and got two INTs. One by in the dog-house Elam. Glass half empty his defense gave up 5 scoring drives and let a terrible QB almost win that game.
  18. I just asked if winning the division last year was easy? The poster said McD wins the division every year easily. How is that blinded by emotion?
  19. It may be an oversimplification but on the flip side I'd argue 25 of the current HCs could win the division and lose in the division round with Allen and this roster.
  20. Even those of us that wanted a HC change acknowledge McDermott is by all accounts a good human being. I don't like how he treated Diggs last off-season. But none of us have the whole story about Diggs. Other than that he has been a good leader. He's just not a good enough HC to win a SB. That's ok if TT is your QB and your goal is to make the playoffs. That's not good enough for a franchise with no SuperBowl wins, four SB appearances, and the best QB in franchise history. Perhaps you disagree, but for me and others only a SuperBowl win matters at this point. My opinion is well stated. What the McDermott supporters (apologists) will never commit to, is when is enough enough? How many years of playoff losses does he get? If he wins the division every year does that mean he keeps his job every year? When do you make a change? The McDermott supporters said last year just get KC in Buffalo. Well it still didn't matter. 3rd straight year they didn't get past the division round. So again I ask, when are you ready to move on?
  21. Thank you! I've been saying this for years.
  22. Both things can be true. McGovern was better but Torrence was very good too. Torrence was a beast in the run game but there were stretches he really struggled in pass protection. But for a rookie he was excellent. Really believe Torrence has a shot at being All-Pro in the next year or two. He will have some name recognition being a rookie that played every snap last year and people will be looking at him to take the next step.
  23. Would love to see VanPran be good enough to start at center and leave our other 4 spots intact. Hope he gets a legit chance to run with the starters in TC.
