And a losing football team since y2k

Yeah I guess, but when you consider that the majority of those losing was derived from the dysfunction caused from an owner who wouldn’t step aside.

In terms of cities, Detroit, Pittsburgh and Cleveland are a little bigger they aren’t much better.  All of those cities took a dive thanks to the decline of industry and outsourcing

The cost of snow removal alone in NYS demands a higher taxes. Yes NYS still has its tax issues... However Out here in Western Wa if we get snow my street never gets plowed...... 6 inches of snow here cripples the area where we have to take LWOPs from work because they do not have the infrastructure to deal with it when it does happen. We also pay 10x's as much for vehicle registrations etc..

every state finds away to get their money....

Interesting.... I do know that taxes are lower in some cities but the cost of living is higher.  So in the end, it probably evens ojtout

The Jets are a team on the rise. It may be as soon as this year. They are loading up around their young QB. We will see how it plays out but if you are a Jets fan you should be thrilled with what’s going on.

Yeah as a Bills fan, I was a little disappointed to see the moves.  This has backfired on teams on teams in the past, let’s hope it happen to NYJ

  3. Maccagan must be feeing the hot seat.  He’s gone all out in Doug Whaley-like desperation to sign big names in Free Agency to phat contracts including:

    Anthony “The” Barr

    CJ Mosely

    Jamison Crowder

    Josh Bellamy

The retaining of Robby Anderson and Big Quince Enunwa.

And they may not be done as rumors are flying they are interested in Matt Paradis and possibly L’evion Bell.

Its easy to say that so far the Jets have “won the offseason” like Rex Ryan would say.

But will it matter?  It’s not hard to throw around guaranteed cash and sign players to big contracts.  We saw Buddy Nix and Whaley do this as Bills fans.  Loading a team doesn’t work unless they are properly utilized.  For that to happen you need good coaching in place, which comes down to Adam Gase and Greggggggg Williams.   Gase has been accused by Miami fans of squandering talent on several different rosters, and didn’t do very much to reclaim Ryan Tannehil.

Do you worry about the Jets next season after these splashy FA moves?

I picked other:  Trading up THREE times inside the first round of ONE draft and NOT giving up any future picks while landing the QB and LB for our future.

I was thinking about this too but struggled with how to phrase it.  I think it’s impressive how Beane was able to draft a QB, when everyone knew it, and he didn’t get fleeced in the process.  I think he played it very well.  Maybe I will add that one

From a one move perspective getting the 1st pick of the 3rd round was a steal for Tyrod was his most impressive transaction.

Getting a 2nd for Watkins knowing we wouldn't resign him was a good move.

LOL.  I'd take that one off the list.  They should've left him in LA after the Chargers game.

It was more a joke!  I didn’t expect anyone to actually select it

I dont think I would call Glenn under performing.

My pick would be finding two above average starter UDFAs in the same offseason.

I would.  Ever since his injuries his availability has been very limited.  When he has been heathy he didn’t perform that great.  Maybe average at best - certainly not worthy of his big contract.  He didn’t have a great year for Cincy last year

  5. This week, the spotlight has been shown on Bills GM Brandon Beane for the odd circumstances around the Antonio Brown fiasco.  Over the course of the past few days, Beane has been given a lot of credit.  His attempt to trade for Brown at a much reduced rate,  has been perceived as an aggressive move indicative of someone who wants to win and help his young QB develop.  The decision to pull the offer of of the table, whether it was for refusal or money, is a move that many fans and journalists felt was necessary.  On the other hand, Brown has made himself look even worse.  Pittsburgh also ended up looking pretty bad for allowing a player to essentially dictate the terms of where he'll be trading to, despite not having a clause in his contract.

Regardless, Beane has shown that he isn't afraid to make big moves if they will help the team.  From the list below, choose which move you feel was his most impressive as Bills GM.

Also there may be a few that I have forgotten and if that's the case, suggest it and I will consider adding it

One Bills Live was hilarious today. Despite the strong and widespread reports that AB essentially nixed the trade, Murph and Tasker continued to deny it and scolded every caller who mentioned it. It was embarrassing. Damage control straight from OBD. Clearly trying to control the message. They also claimed that there is not a stigma around Buffalo despite the flogging the city took from the media and NFL players during this ordeal. Interesting that as soon as Bulldog came on, the message was totally different.

Thank you for sharing.  This is the type of show I need to listen to!

Man.. sometimes being a genius and knowing how to use google/wikipedia is a curse....

On March 3, 2007, Plummer was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a 2008 conditional draft pick. However, rumors began to surface that Plummer was going to choose retirement over competition with the Buccaneers' four other quarterbacks on the roster (Bruce Gradkowski, Tim Rattay, Jeff Garcia, and Luke McCown).[14] On March 9, Plummer ended the speculation by announcing his decision to retire.[2]Plummer also confirmed his retirement through the Jake Plummer Foundation's website.[15] Since he was still under contract to the Buccaneers and had already been given his contract signing bonus, Tampa Bay coach Jon Gruden met with Plummer in July to try to convince him to reconsider and report for training camp.[2][16] However, the attempt was unsuccessful and the team sued for recovery of the bonus. A settlement was finally reached on June 10, 2008 in which Plummer was required to pay back $3.5 million to the Buccaneers.[17]

That’s real nice but the article says nothing about compensation getting returned

  8. This whole AB situation got me thinking.   What happens if the Bills pulled the trigger on Brown and traded for him, despite the fact that he said he wouldn’t report.

Once the trade is consummated, if a player refuses to report to the team that traded for him and sits out an entire season (a la Bell) can the team void the trade?

If they can’t void the trade then it shows how players ultimately hold the power....not the GM or team.

This is a one question multiple choice survey. It should take about 2 minutes to read the prompt and answer the question. It is related to a potential naming concept for a Buffalo Sports team. There will be a short description on each and then 7 choices.

I apologize for the shortened link, I know some folks find this sketchy but I assure you it's just a short Google Form survey. There is no other way for me to share the link.

It is for a school assignment and I would greatly appreciate if the greatest fans in the world could help me out!!!!! Go Bills!

On the Bills’ app Phillips is being interviewed by John Murphy and Tasker under the title “We’re trying to build something great here”. At the 7:10 mark he states that he’s trying to recruit players to come to Buffal but refused to reveal who when asked. Later in the interview, at the 9:10 mark, he says that he has played in the shadows of some great players and mentions Ndamukong Suh in particular. Seeing that Suh is a FA I’m wondering if Phillips has tried to persuade him to come to Buffalo. Also with the expected release of a couple of other ex teammates , Dolphins’ DEs Robert Quinn and Andre Branch,  it wouldn’t surprise me too much if any or a combination of 2 of these 3 show up in Buffalo.

Suh doesn’t seem like much of a “process” guy

    Thats not a bad thing.

All in all, Mario was a great player here.

He had a few good years but never was worth the giant size contract he was given.  He also took the biggest nosedive.  Two years after one of his best seasons, he was out of the league.  All in all, not one of the best signings.  Then again, not the worst

    until Wrex

It wasn’t Rex.  Mario did nothing in Miami and couldn’t get even a contract the next season. He went downhill super fast

How come Anthony Lynn isnt on this list? he was a intern just like Perry was. That is who I would pick if I had to pick a Bills ex and we needed a coach

Because like Wade Phillips, including Lynn on the poll is a slam dunk.  He’d take most of the vote.  What’s the point of doing a poll when all but 1 of the choices are undesirable?
