I thought he already retired at the end of the season.

He told his teammates in the locker room after their playoff loss apparently per the linked articles, but did not make it official until his presser today.

interesting. 1. wonder who picks him up. 2.  wonder what Denver's thinking for its QB situation.

Less competition for us as to drafting WR in the first round, if nothing else?

Today Im in the office and when we do the typical 10AM "hows it going" gathering with my company owner and a few colleagues Im going to steer the convo to our primary competing agency and will say out loud "This place is pretty good, but its really my dream to work there."

    Wish me luck.

As long as your meeting doesn’t include “the Bobs,” you should be good 👍 😁.

I mean, he was a 4/5 safety after starting most of the year prior. He has enough talent to be in that role. They signed Rapp to be the first safety off the bench and Cam Lewis has more versatility. I think there was maybe a small PR component to it, but it’s not like Hamlin was some make a wish kid. He is a legit NFL player

I def didn’t mean to imply that he’s not at all NFL-caliber; I just meant that no one would’ve been shocked if under “normal” circumstances Hamlin didn’t get a roster spot this last season coming out of camp, is all.

Too much finesse with all that subtlety and sweeping.  You ain't trying unless your rock ends up two rinks over.  A variation on my billiards philosophy of hit them hard enough, something will go in. 😁

Yet another opportunity to blame Canada! 🤔

  6. Kelly prevented Marino, Elway, Moon (or Montana!) from ever advancing in the playoffs when facing Buffalo. And don’t give me oh it’s because of all the other Bills. Because that’s a straw man argument you can make for every other good QB who plays with 10 others on O. (Conversely, had one of the other Bills made a 47 yd FG Kelly would also have a SB of course). It simply is what it is—Kelly led teams never let any of the aforementioned HOF QBs ever beat Buffalo in the playoffs. Look it up if you don’t believe me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Also, running the no huddle and his own plays continually was a revolution in football, and was something you couldn’t even dream of most contemporary QB’s doing—Kelly was special in his role for that particular time, and if you say Josh has been let down by coaching or FO blunders in the playoffs (which I agree with fwiw) where is the same cover for Kelly? Marv was a great coach, but he was continually outclassed in the Super Bowl.

Let’s not continually deconstruct our history with revisionism, particularly where the eras cannot be evenly matched.

The Dolphins are in a similar terrible cap situation like the Bills but don't even have a division title to show for it.

Lot of pressure in south beach to navigate a tough situation and finally break through the AFC East next year. And they might just finally be able to do it since the Bills are likely going to take a big step backward with their own salary cap mess to work through.

Hmmm…Tua more likely to navigate a tough cap roster out of the East, or Josh? Is this really that tough of a call? Josh eats supporting cast adversity for breakfast and 2nd breakfast…

Go look at his game logs from the postseason. Jim had four good games out of nineteen. Jim was tough, probably a great leader, but he wasn’t good when it mattered.

So that’s a line you could stick on every single QB who didn’t win the big one—at some point each year they would not have been good enough when it mattered, no? Jim did what he had to, plenty. “Probably” a good leader doesn’t get you into a gold jacket, imho.
