  1. From a pure impact standpoint, I think yes. He hit his ceiling two years ago and has regressed slightly since the elbow injury last year. Like it or not, Josh will never be as dangerous escaping the pocket or with designed runs as he was in his early-mid twenties.

That said, he hasn't hit his ceiling as a passer imo, and I fully expect him to get incrementally better at traditional QB things as he ages.

  2. I will admit I liked the plan to draft Kincaid and use more 12 personnel concepts and 11 with Kincaid in the slot to better protect Josh. It could still work imo with better play calling. We're not as one dimensional playing like that.

But we still need to play spread a lot of the time too and we often didn't find the right balance or even recognize when it was time to change course. Game planning has to be part of the conversation re our poor starts.

But I disagree with putting everything on Dorsey. Josh has got to take some blame. His poor/slow decision making has led to turnovers and killed drives. He's still rifling the football sometimes leading to drops.

Our Oline with Morse is never going to be a strong running team. We're built to pass. We have to be better.

  3. This interview all but confirms what I've been seeing with Josh. We've tried to turn him into a pocket passer. Teams adjusted right away starting with the Jets game.

Josh isn't able to beat the zone, and now we've fired to the OC to "inject some confidence" into the team (read: Josh).

He's too good to not adjust. We've seen him do it before overcoming accuracy issues. It's just going to take some time.

  4. I don't understand how Elam has such a good PFF grade when literally anyone else who grades him based on All 22 says he sucks. He seems to get picked on a lot too which tells you what opposing OCs think of him.

It might be too late to trade him in which case he's a camp cut next year.

  5. This is suh a jinx thread. What the heck OPer??

The reason why we should be scared of the Bengals is because their Oline has a history of manhandling our Dline, and now we're missing our toughest DT and best linebacker. We probably aren't going to win if we can't stop them and lose TOP.
