It all starts in the trenches !! On both sides of the ball !!

That’s where I would start but if the chance to draft or acquire a special talent at a key position comes you have to take it imo! Those players are also key and probably what the current team needs.

Qb is a special position that must be addressed! You need a good one to be a perennial contender! When that happens in a rebuild isn’t as important as making sure it at least does happen!!!

Agreed. I’ve come away from games with similar opinions of Wentz, definitely Rivers, Geoff, Ben, Rodgers, Stafford (I belive where josh can get to)  and probably all the other guys too.

Josh has the tools to at least become an average to above average NFL starter and his arm is sick. It’s going to take some time, and the right coaching and some really good WR talent. Stop with this deep ball nonsense, spread the field and let him rifle fast balls sideline to sideline 0-20 yards downfield.

McDermott seems the right guy to me.  I understand the feeling Daboll may not be. I’m getting there myself.

I agree totally! Josh has an elite arm as far as strength and has shown plenty of touch and accuracy to warrant investment in his development. Yeah he has struggled with the deep ball but that will come. His strength is passing sideline to sideline and making a team pay when they ignore his mobility! He will get there! Are most fans willing to be patient enough to wait?

  3. While I agree with the point of as Allen goes so does the team it’s not all on him. Execution and a couple more playmakers would help matters! The Pats have been a great team seemingly forever largely because of Brady and Belichick. But the rest of the team executes at a high level consistently! Blocking and tackling the basics of the sport are done pretty much game in and game out at a high level! Something that up to this  point we haven’t achieved. Mcd preaches the process and part of that process is getting there. Hopefully he can keep the belief of his players long enough to achieve that!? But yeah Allen’s continued development is key to how far this team goes!!!

Imo we need to make the playoffs if for no other reason but to keep the players invested in this process!! Once Allen matures ,these young players develop and we add a few more playmakers we could be a dominant team for many years!!!

  4. Yes and I think he is only scratching the surface of his potential! So glad we have him!!

7 TDs & only 1 INT, in his last 4 games. 6 of the 7 TDs were in the redzone & 5 were to WRs(All weak points last year). Yeah he's improving.

For comparison...Some are treating Lamar like he's God, he runs a lot I get it, but in his last 4 games he had games of 161 yards, 236 yards, 143 yards & 163 yards with only 2 TDs & 3 INTs. Matter of fact take the Miami game out and he has only 7 TDs & 5 INTs in his other 7 games.

Thanks for that info! Not always as things seem!

  5. What’s difficult to see in these videos is the push that the offensive line gets. It’s makes a huge difference to a linebacker if the DL is getting pushed back even a little. The angles are dramatically different and not in a positive way for the linebacker! Much easier for the runner to find a lane!! In the second video without knowing the defensive call IMO Hyde got sucked in too far and couldn’t recover but I will say that Milano was too easily blocked too

I wonder if this isn’t why Taylor was brought in and Peko released? Also Oliver saw far fewer snaps last week. Maybe he is dinged up some,  but we wouldn’t know that!

  6. Cleveland doesn’t seem to be on paper the potential threat that Philly was. Even if they play with desperation. But, they still have talent especially at rb! A definite weakness for our defense! Like they all say “ it’s tough to win in the NFL” or “any given Sunday “!

This team needs to take the next step offensively and actually play a full game. Maybe not necessarily to beat Cleveland, but with games coming up against Pittsburgh, Dallas, Baltimore and NE, we will need an effective offense to win. I thought we would need to score more than 24 points to beat Phil’s and actually it ended up being 31 but you can see my point here!

In short it really depends on how we play more than any of our opponents!!

Man one loss to the Eagles and everyone is jumping off the ship.  Fare weather fans.

We are who we thought we were.  A fringe playoff team. Did some y’all forget?

Yep, wildcard team is where I felt we are! The big key is if the team gets better as the season goes on so that we can make a run once we get to the playoffs! Josh played better than many are giving him credit. He is improving but it takes time!

  8. This loss was not on Josh, I was impressed by his decision making. Yeah the fumble hurt, but it didn’t change the game as some have suggested! We lost in the trenches, plain and simple!! Everything else is a product of that.

Daboll tried to run the ball on the replacement DTs and it didn’t work! Seemed like there wasn’t a plan b or c after that!? Not sure, but it’s hard to run with no push from the o-line. Eagles are still a talented team and they came as if the season was on the line!

Still feel we are a playoff team but if Josh continues to develop that would be a much bigger thing IMO!!!

  9. This will be a hard fought contest!! Philly is desperate to steal a win that could be crucial to their season.

If Milano is back that will help a lot! But I get the feel that this is a game that the offense needs to show up more to win. I think we will need 24+  points to win. They still have a lot of talent offensively . Given their run defense Allen needs to have a good game!!

    Character and class?

Sean McDermott's answer to the Zay Jones question today at the presser. Man the Buffalo Bills are lucky to have that guy as Head Coach. I would run through a wall for him.

I thought the same thing. A first class answer and the thing is, I think he means it!

This team has what it takes to win 13 games and make a serious run at the AFC Championship.

I’m no homer. Trust me. That said - it’s time we stop being afraid of believing in this team. This isn’t 2004 or 2008 or 2011.

It’s also time we stop thinking that progress is linear and we aren’t ready yet. Three reasons why 12 wins should be the minimum expectation for this team:

    1. The schedule is as easy as it’s going to ever be. Easiest schedule in the NFL going forward. You have to take advantage of that.

    2. The defense is dominant. Third year in this system, they have arrived. Edmunds is on the verge of becoming a perennial All-Pro. Best safety tandem in football. A shut-down corner. And DEPTH. There is no reason for this team to not impose their will on each of the 11 offenses they will face moving forward.

    3. The offense is better than they have showed. They aren’t scoring enough points yet. They’re turning it over too much. But they’re moving the ball (12th in total offense). Allen is only going to get better. The brand new pieces should improve as the season goes along. We have seen this offense at its worst - and we have won 4 out of 5 (possibly 5 out of 5 if our QB hadn’t gotten concussed).

    No excuses. 12 wins minimum.

You could be right! I don’t know about winning the division but hosting a wild card game is a definite possibility! With a great defense, which travels well usually. We could conceivably get to the AFC championship! What a great way to stick it to the Pats but to beat them to advance to the Super Bowl!!

    One can dream can’t I?

I thought Allen played his worst NFL game vs the Pats and his best game against the Titans. He played smart football, wrapped up the ball when defenders were near and his mechanics were much better last Sunday. You have to be a good game manager before you can be a good gunslinger. I'll take just 1 bonehead play per game from Josh every week.

I agree! For now I can live with the one bad play a week. I didn’t really feel that pick was as bad as the ones against NE. But they are a better defense also.

Patience is the word for now! Let’s see what we have after he has had 2 1/2 to 3 years of starts! He’s worth the wait considering what his ceiling could be. Also considering that will give the offense  more time to gel and catch up to the defense! This team could be scary good!!

  13. When you really consider it, how much different is a 4.3 from a 4.66? Obviously, .4 seconds in 40 yards. Not much really. How many times does a Qb get 3 and a half seconds to throw considering flight time of the ball?  It’s much more important to have good route running techniques and great hands!! Duke’s size and physicality are a help too! He looks like a baller to me!!!
