I know your a CoTP guy and cannot look at this team and how it is built objectively. Your Koolaid is strong. I get it

I trust McDermott, I firmly believe that he will be in Buffalo and have long term success.

Patience is a virtue, and you should consider letting Beane and McDermott have time to make a difference for the long term success of this team.  That won't be known for a couple more years.

Your quips seem funny to you now, glad that is how you passively aggressively communicate.  call me a kool-aid drinker, CoTP or any other name you want, I'm excited for the teams future.  just odd that you feel the need to label someone...hmmmm

I think anyone who looked at the roster last season was foolish to think they would be able to build off their 9-7 record.  Remember the ultimate goal of McDermott and Beane was to build a team to win long-term.  Not to build 9-7 again

Completely agree.  They are facing an angry mob for overachieving last year.

I know everyone has different expectations with this team, but i was just happy to see them make the playoffs last year.  It's very clear that building a long term winner, with what they had to work with coming in, was going to take multiple years.

    Patience is a virtue all!

So going into the first Rookies start with 4 WRs is smart? And then have him throw 33 times?

And if that is Kerley isnt good why was he on the team?  Why not Coleman, Reiley or Phillips or Streater.

Know what else Kerley offered is Return Stability in a game Murphy was clearly struggling.

But know inactive McDermott, Useless Lacy and a 4th DT because it was Hot (as coach said) met more.

Did you happen to see that Allen targeted 10 different players today?  Wide receivers, tight ends, running backs....these are all skill positions, not just 4 Wrs.

Again, you should be comparing Kerley to other skill position players...like you tried doing with Dimarco.  But, Kerley isn't as good.

And yes, Murphy made a bad decision to not fair catch 1 punt....doesnt qualify as struggling in my book.  He is actually one of the bright spots

You are digging yourself a bigger hole, get out before it's too late.....

There are many reasons why, in the face of the  ugly, negative, and defamatory rhetoric from some of the Bills fan base (I use that term loosely), I stand in lock-step with Coach McDermott and GM Beane.  There are many reasons why:

    - We finally have acquired our franchise QB.  This year will all be about his individual development, not about the team’s overall record.  Also would you rather have another 7-9 year with Tyrod Taylor starting?  Or a year bottoming out at say 4-12 where we use a high draft pick to acquire premium talent?  Cal me crazy but I’ve seen enough of 7-9.  If you’re not gonna make the playoffs, Miss them by a mile.

    - The are cleaning up the cap situation.  Doug Whaley’s cap situation was atrocious.  It takes time to clean it up.  Beane was able to unload overpaid stars like Sammy Watkins, Marcel Darius, and yes even Tyrod.  Next year, we have a lot of $$$ to spend and a high draft position.  We will rebuild.

    - They ended the playoff drought!  I repeat, they ended the playoff drought!  Some of you would have traded your first born to end the drought, these guys did it and you whinge.

    - We have our defensive QB’s in Edmunds, Hyde, and White.  Solid starters for years to come.  Yes Edmunds has struggled a bit so far but he is 20 years old.  Give him 1 year NFL experience and you will see.

    - Coach McDermott will fix the problems on defense.

Folks look at the talent on this team.  Did you really think this was playoff caliiber?  They suffered too many losses.  This is a rebuilding year.  I would encourage you to look at the overall progress of Josh Allen and not the team’s overall record.  This is a rebuild.

So in conclusion, thank you Coach McDermott.  Thank you GM Beane.  You have our ship headed toward the right direction with the character and culture of this organization.

To the fans who whinge on this board about the Bills.  Quit your whinging.  We had a playoff team last year.  They broke the streak. Chalk this up to a rebuild and move on.  If you don’t like the team....get off the bus!  (Mic drop)

    Great post!

It's a shame that we are so quick to judge two individuals who have only been running the show for a little over a year.  Plans take time to develop.

This isn't blind faith or drinking the kool-aid, it's being a sane and mindful individual.  Just because another team turned things around quicker, that shouldn't matter.  Every team has a different dynamic to work with, and sometimes that process is realized in 1 year, while some may take several years.

if you can't be patient, then stop watching this year and just sit on the sideline until next March/April

So Conner McDermott finally got active. Ooo wait nevermind.

It isnt as much about Kerley. It is about Allen. Sorry you cannot get that thru your thick skull

If it's about Allen, then why does Kerley matter so much?  He is not good, and doesn't offer anything more than what we already have at WR.

I respect that everyone has an opinion, but in this case, your opinion doesn't mean much....sorry, but the Bills brass doesn't agree with you.

And insults, come on man, don't turn internet tough guy on me

The only thing difficult about it, is figuring out how he doesn’t get fired. Fraiser is terrible. Look at how quick it got turned around. It’s like he’s on auto pilot and the veteran QBs are laughing at how simple Leslie’s Defense is. McDermott takes over the calls and the laughing stopped for Rivers. I wish they fired him after week 1 but I can only hope it’s at worst tomorrow morning. Fraiser needs to go, no ifs ands or buts and it should have been tonight.

I have no qualms with this....just hope the defense continues their play from today's 2nd half

Actually yes I am happy he did something.

So what did Conner McDermott do?  Lacy Do? Holmes? Or the 4th DT for that matter?

Again, you need to have backups...and clearly the team didn't view Kerley as a starter or even as highly as the backups that you mentioned.

Let's see if Kerley gets signed elsewhere and contributes...i really hope he is successful, but he's a bottom of the roster player at this point in his career.

Let's circle back to this conversation later I. the year and see if Kerley is as valuable in other NFL teams eyes...you clearly see something in him that I'm missing

Again, why sign Kerley in the first place if you are committed to a rebuild?  That's the issue. What is the plan?  Beane's moves don't come with a dot connector.

They want to win, but now that Peterman wet the bed again, they will rebuild after all?

    1. we need Wrs to fill out the training camp roster

    2. he was signed Before the draft

    3. he provides veteran guidance to a young wr core

    4. he likely wouldn't have made final cuts if Ray Ray wasn't injured

Releasing Kerley doesn't dictate or even directionally measure the overall plan that Beane and McDermott have.  He was a fringe player, not someone they were counting toward their future "core"

What Fact? Why do we NEED four DTs. Why?

there will be what 60 Snaps. So you are telling me between Star, Kyle and Harrison they cannot pick up the extra 15 snaps max?

This isn't worth my time, but let's state the obvious:

    1. we have an aging Kyle Williams

    2. a rookie Dt

    3. you need guys to backup in case of injury

    4. most importantly, go look back at the many copied tweets from others stating that McDermott rotates 4 Dts each game

Are you related to someone on the staff, or just that blind to how dumb their decisions are? Why would you start your rookie QB against a top defense and then cut the only WR that gets open?

What if I am?  Still doesn't change the fact that we need 4 healthy DTs to rotate and Kerley isn't changing the outcome if we have success passing the football tomorrow...

News flash, Josh Allen will still be the one throwing passes to equally as talented receivers

DiMarco played 1 (ONE) offensive snap last week. Really don't care that hes a "leader"..someone else can step into that role. He offers nothing to the offense. And having guys that do well on special teams is awesome...providing you have an offense that can move the Damn ball.

We have no one that can catch, slim at CB facing Rivers...yea lets promote a DT and cut a guy that could actually help. Ridiculous.

You've likely never played a team sport, if u think finding a true leader is as simple as you stated

I'm not. I simply pointed out that he started 13 games as a rookie in repsonse to another post and I didn't say that he began the season as starter.  You somehow think you're telling me something new with your post?  You aren't.

Here is what you're missing, Ben wouldn't have started 13 games without Maddox going down.

The other poster simply said Ben didn't "start" the season as their starter either...and I'm trying to inform you that there were circumstances that led to Ben playing that early, and he was only asked to manage games behind a stellar defense....perhaps you follow the Steelers as close as me, and already knew this though

    ....and he never looked back.

It's laughable that you're comparing this situation to Ben...

First off, you were wrong that he started the season as the Steelers Qb.

Second, that Steelers team was LOADED.  They had Ben as a game manager, throwing about 20 passed per game, he didn't throw more than 30 once his rookie season.
