Refs would not let them challenge a non Penalty call. The Bills challenged that he was down by contact which was a bad call.

It was an awful challenge. For someone who talks about the process and attention to detail and all that coach bs he makes a lot of inept decisions.

Can he ship himself off for a 6th round pick? If a player made the Peterman decision vs SD, or challenged that, whatever the hell he thought he was doing. He'd bench them or send them packing. I'm not wishing for Rex back, but this dude is a dud.

Please stop comparing Rex to good coaches.

You're not saying McDermott is a good coach? I know it requires a TV to see it in Buffalo but surely you know this has been average at best, and that's generous.

I like Cousins but I don't disagree with your Mayfield take.

I'm on the Mayfield bandwagon, but admittedly it's for what the poster you quoted said. What makes me nervous though is that our opinions on this are shaped by something completely not quantifiable at all. And there is really no way to project that into how good of a pro Mayfield could be.

I also wonder how Mayfield would mesh with this staff/talent.

I don't see him as having a personality/attitude that McDermott likes. At least that is what I gather from what McDermott gives off publicly.

Also, the scheme. Mayfield is a better prospect than Tyrod. But he's another guy considered undersized, mobile, with pretty good arm strength. All of these traits Taylor has they have done little to utilize effectively. I dont want to waste the pick if we are just gonna throw him under center and expect a sub 6' guy to see the field on 3 step drops and short routes. It just doesn't go together.

In my opinion,  if we cannot trade up for Darnold or Rosen we should draft to our needs and take a QB in a later round.#2 ,#3 or #4. We still have Peterman , who as a poster a few posts before said you cannot tell about a QB until they have played more than , i believe he said 10 games or more. I would hope Karma would strike the Bill's and have 2 QB's that are deemed to be starters , but i will settle for one.

10 games of success... no one is owed 10 games of failure.

Peterman is awful, the game is too fast for him at the NFL level. Let it go, I know you all wanted him and zay to light it up after there preseason. But they are both trending in the wrong direction, even with Zays improvement over the last few games he played.

I don’t disagree but he is certainly mobile. That’s not a knock imo. Baker gets compared to those guys because he isn’t tall and makes a lot of plays outside of the pocket. He’s an elite playmaker imo. He might not make the explosive plays down the field and with his legs that Tyrod or Wilson will but he will make plenty of plays. Baker would be so awesome in a Bills uniform.

I know enough to know when I say I don't know. But I agree, it could go terribly but I wouldn't mind watching Mayfield get a shot here.

I don’t understand how the Bills would be a perfect fit for Mayfield when we don’t even run the read option...how has Mayfield shown he could play in a WCO?

This I agree with completely. I don't know how well he fits in with this scheme, and really the staff

I compare scouting quarterbacks to having game with women that's one of those it Factor that's kind of intangible and hard to explain but when you see it you know it either you know how to talk a girl in polar or you don't either your franchise quarterback or you're not I can tell you how to talk to a girl I can tell you to dress better I can tell you to say certain things I can tell you to get the gym and maybe you might get laid once in awhile but as far as being a true quote on quote player or franchise quarterback either you naturally have it or you don't I don't know that's just the funny way of me explaining how you Scout quarterbacks LOL

This may be the dumbest thing I have ever read.

Yeah, when one orders a charge, 1/3 of the "soldiers" will go, 1/3 won't understand, and just sit there dumbfounded, and the final 1/3 will pull out a credit card. With the same thing happening on the other side, unfortunately, only the smart people will actually fight and kill each other, leaving us even dumber than we were.

Unless....the left side of the civil war keeps its current leaders in charge. Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Howard Dean, and the rest of the clown school...would lose the war so quickly and so decisively, that we couldn't even call it a war. More like an "emergency". In fact, that would be part of their surrender terms: that we not call it a war.

Think about it: what if I organized about 100 semi truck drivers, and about 1000 infantry types, to cut off the highways/trains to NYC, Boston, Philly and DC? What would/could the leftists do? Pretty sure this siege/war would last about 24 hours before the surrender...conditional on not calling it a war.

EDIT: as far as the thread, this has been beaten to death here, and GG has already stated what needs to stated. Next topic.

This is some seriously ignorant and elitist %$#@ right here. There are a few American cultures that you're apparently completely unaware of, and none of those people should need to change anything about their appearance or lifestyle to gain approval - or at least an acknowledgement of legitimacy - from you. You actually said "I have just yet to find one the world would not be a better place without".

    You arrogant swine.

Wow is this manufactured outrage or are you that much of a !@#$ boy? I love that I stumbled across this. It shows your sensitivity. He must of really stuck a nerve, because from what I've seen you just call people idiots and don't explain anything.

Is this because you actually think you can debate with him? Because from what I've read that dude actually says stuff in his posts.... and you, well, don't.

Maybe I have the game mixed up, but there was a bogus pass interference against the Bills in a road game in recent times against the Patriots*, where the ball was uncatchable and yet the refs threw the flag anyway, giving them the ball at the 1 yard line.

I am not making this up. There are lots of Bills fans who saw it and have lamented on it.

The only game I remember with a terrible call like that was when Bledsoe and Carroll were there. It was a PI on the last play of the game on Henry Jones, but I don't think that's the game you're remembering.

Don't forget the TRILLION dollar college loan bubble

Bunch of money spent on Chomsky literature and Starbucks.... Literally

Has anyone with a college degree ever read Noam Chomsky for a class? Seriously, I hear bs like this all the time and I'm convinced it only comes from people who never went to college.

I've got a political science degree and if I ever read any Noam Chomsky it was maybe an excerpt or a small essay. I know my buddies with real degrees in engineering and hard sciences have no clue who the guy is.

I do not remember the year, but the Bills lose on the road to the Patriots* 37-31 after Fitzpatrick throws a pass intended for TJ Graham , and the ball gets intercepted.

Prior to that, the Patriots* get a touchdown after a bogus pass interference call on the Bills that gives the Patriots* the ball at the 1 yard line.

Can anyone here who can see this please help me out with this one, by giving me the year of this game and the video evidence? We all saw it and we all know it was a critical bull **** call by the officials.

This game? The bills trailed the whole game. http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/2012111103/2012/REG10/bills@patriots

Look at the scoring in that game. I don't think what you're saying holds up. I unfortunately don't really remember that game or call. And I remember the 98 game in NE

  11. 6 hours ago, Mark Vader said:

I never said that was the only reason why they lost.

You cannot say that there haven't been numerous bogus penalties called against the Bills in these games, that were also a contributing factor to their losses. Many people here can recount them.

Recount away then. I want to know them.

The Bills have lost because they've been bad, and I hate them, but New England has been better.

     never, punch his nose

Why the !@#$ are you talking about sharks?

    This is nonsense.

The thing that Tre White does not realize is that when you play against the Patriots*, you also play against the officials.

After saying this stuff, look for White to get 3 or 4 bogus penalties called against him.

Because that's how the pats have beaten this franchise for the past 16 years.

    Not, you know, being better.

The Bills had no draft " status " to begin with, as they are not CLE or SF.  Target the right QB , and do what is necessary to draft him. If draft status was the gold standard, the Browns would be ruling the NFL landscape right now. That couldn't be further from the truth, obviously. Don't make the mistakes that past regimes have. It's really that simple. They will end up where they end up.

The Browns, who keep passing on top Qbs and drafting high are a convenient but not really accurate example.

It's also convenient to leave out the Rams and Eagles, how did they turn it around?

  14. 10 hours ago, BillsfanAZ said:

I still think the Bills are not a playoff caliber team. If they beat the Pats then I will be impressed. The Bills dont have the offense to compete with good teams. The Bills defense basically takes teams into deep water to drown them, the Bills offense does just enough to keep their nose above the waterline.

No I think the Bills defense has taken teams into deep water and then just drowned 3 out of the last 4 weeks.

Neither unit is great, or even good. But the AFC isn't good, so playoffs are possible, and they have way too many wins to tank it. Not that NFL teams would, but people who think that way need to realize that philosophy of tanking is useless at this point, 6-10, 7-9, 8-8 is not much different than 9-7. They might as well go out guns blazing at this point and hope to sneak into the playoffs.
