  1. I thought they were going to put a stop to the forward motion some of these guys (looking at you, 49ers WR's) subtley make before the snap when they are in motion.

Not even talking about the one where the RB leaves early. But when a WR is motioning pre-snap.

I was disappointed as I thought enforecement of this rule would have a detrimental effect on teams like Miami and SF

If the Bills can find a way to steal this one somehow man would that be a huge momentum boost because of what is coming on the schedule.

The bills had a first half problem stopping the run on the edge yesterday and it sort of killed them, in the second half they took care of it and it created favorable third downs for our defense.  Hopefully they come out of the gate sunday playing good defense against the run.

probably going to take 31 or more points again this week to win.

I take slight issue with the word 'steal'.

We are favored, as we should be.

[Edit, we are not favored. My bad.]

This is the last time I'll say this for a while, after having said it a thousand times this offseason: I'm sick of no other difference makers stepping up for the Bills in big playoff moments. I'm sick of the Bills hitting singles and doubles in the draft, but never home runs.

I'm ready to swing for the fences and try to add a potential superstar to this team. I'm ready to see Rome Odunze catch a toe-tapping, game winning touchdown to beat the Chiefs and advance to the AFCCG, and I don't mind losing out on a safety and a couple backup d-linemen in order to make it happen.

I know I won't win any new converts to my way of thinking, but I'm not feeling at all risk averse this year. Bring on the risk. Bring on a blue chipper. Let's do this thing.

From a macro perspective, this is just the worst year to take those risks and potentially leveraging future draft capital imho.

    -Loaded draft.

    -'Reset', more holes than usual

With that said, ill quickly get on board with whatever happens, go bills!

I do think a slight reframing is helpful:

instead of calling it dead money, the bills are accounting for $31m in previously paid dollars that they would need to account for whether they kept him or not.

they do however save $22m in future guarantees

    Yeah, no. Its dead money.

  5. Is there room for nuance? I think this move needed to happen. But I also think the dead money charge of $31.096 million next season (a record for a WR in any season) has to be a blemish on Beane's record. A minor one and one that needs to be taken in context of the totality of Diggs time here and the positives/production he brought.

That said, I have been a proponent of a reset and believe Beane had some pills to swallow on this one, but I believe it was the correct move.

Agree with CincyBIllsFan. The Bills under McBeane have demonstrated repeatedly their patience and wisdom in bringing players back slowly from injury.

I believe there are teams who would be dressing Terrell Bernard today but not the Bills.

Exactly correct. They don't want to see Tyler Matakevich playing LB in this game. Whether as a starter or a backup, Klein was gonna get the callup.

The bills being called wise when bringing back players with repeat concussions? Maybe with other injuries.

And maybe compared to other teams, the Bills are the most patient. But thats just saying they are slightly less evil than their counterparts. And wise? GTFOH.

At least see what the league AND THIS TEAM is with clear eyes.

Still don’t understand people saying this. Unless I’m wrong about the wind a 49 yard kick is pretty close to a chip shot in today’s NFL. If you can trust your kicker to hit that you need a new kicker.

FWIW, i think jay feely said on the broadcast that kickers in warmups struggled from that side at around 50 yards

McDermott’s decision to try a 49 yard fg at end of 2q was ill advised. Converting non 4th and 7 was a likelier outcome and if you want to be conservative, punt it to their 10. The game would have been a blowout otherwise I think

Its in that situation you need to know on 3rd down if we can run a non-negative yard play, we will go for it on 4th down.  Too often we go deep and take a shot instead of trying to ground it out over 2 plays.

With the weather and distance, a better play call by the coaches and/or decision by Josh is what is needed on 3rd down there, in my opinion.

A minor gripe in a sea of positives, for sure. Go bills!!
