I don't see us trading for him.  And even if we did, we aren't trading for him as young as he is AND taking a WR high in the draft.

I can not see Beane doing that.

I could if the compensation was like only a 2nd rounder next year and a couple scattered late round picks.

It seems like most people on this board think the key to getting past the Chiefs and to the SB is "more offense".  A case can be made for more defense too.  As we have painfully seen, one or two key plays on defense can also be the difference in those tight games.

While I do agree, I look at all the available defensive players in this draft and just don't see any players that I envision making those plays. The ways I see the stars aligning I think this is the year to reload the offense mainly.

I hear ya, and good points.

I'm just afraid a late round WR, won't feel the need at boundary/downfield guy.  If we draft a WR in the 1st (presumably who can do it all), we still have a hole at the other WR spot.

I don't trust Samuel or Shakir outside, whatsoever.  Samuel for some snaps but he's better utilized in the slot/shorter quick routes and YAC.

If our plan is to bring in a MVS or Thomas, post June 1st, then fine go WR late.  But I'd rather go WR in 1 and 2, where I'm almost certain the value will meet our picks.  Go for a S, 3 tech DT, CB, and a RB round 4+.  Then post June 1st, focus on DE and RB2 (if we don't draft someone).

My biggest concerns are WR and DE.  We have nobody is taking the top off defenses right now, and hope Beane is focused on acquiring speed/explosiveness early.  At DE, not sure a RD2 guy is going to move the needle.  I'd rather we go 1yr rental, like we did with Floyd.

Ultimately, I trust Beane but he HAS to hit on immediate starter/impact guys in Rd 1 and 2 this year.

I'm afraid as far as pass rushers are concerned we're probably going to have to roll with what we got this year unless we get lucky with someone post June 1st. But the good news from the Diggs trade is that the money that's freed up from his contract next year we could go after one of the top free agent pass rushers with it.

I’d do it for Nabers. Might not be a totally accepted trade for many, but I think he’d be worth it. You’ve got a true number one there.

Totally agree. Sure we'd have to leave the defense a little depleted this year but we could finish that unit off next year. Build up the firepower this year and if the offense stays hot especially by the time the playoffs start we are still an absolute contender imo.

He's the same height and faster than Diggs, FWIW

    With T Rex arms though.

I'm calling it now... Shakir is mid and will be a decent 3rd WR option. Nothing about his game stands out. He's small, not fast, hasn't shown great yac ability, has had a number of drops, gets small during contested plays (doesn't box out or gain body position). He's a 5th round receiver playing as good as a 3rd round receiver. Nothing too exciting here

This right here. You double or triple his targets, his catch % that all you number crunching nerds are getting all crazy about will plummet back to an average number. He is a nice piece to have in group sure, but he's a #3 that can fill in as a #2 in stretches.

  6. Sign Beckham as a 1 yr incentive type deal/ veteran bandaid and draft two so they don't have to be completely thrown into fire. Or just throw em in. Cost controlled youth movement guy here🖐️ lol. Next year use the Diggs money for one of the top free agent pass rushers and this train keeps rolling just fine.

The draft value chart is simply a guideline for those that don't know

Teams have done deals that were significantly less and significantly more on the chart, so ultimately it doesn't mean a whole lot

Right. It's really just a loose guideline. Who falls/what position will determine different scenarios.

  8. I know many are down on the compensation but you got to maybe realize that league wide the word is out that Diggs has hit the wall and it's only slowly going to go downhill from here. Tough pill right now, but having 27 million to play with next year is going to feel real good. Answer that, Miller's contract may be coming off the books too depending what happens with him.....mo money!!! In conclusion, it may take a little while to get the newcomers on the same page but if we hit on the right picks I don't necessarily see this is a take a step back year.

Going to struggle this year. Rookie WRs take time and Samuel isn’t a #1

Yes but Kincaid could really break out and it's a much friendlier passing league for receivers to come into. The rookie doesn't have to be "the man" right away.

    Yea people are curious

But it's gonna be a 3-4 year development at least if it did work

Not many teams have 4 years to develop a PS level guy

I wouldn't waste a draft pick on him but would ask him to TC

IDK if he's still there in the 6th or 7th round why not. If there was a way to not waste a roster spot for a couple years it might be worth looking into. I think after a couple years you'd have a good idea if the development could pan out then you'd still have a couple years for him to backup Dawkins. How many 6th or 7th round picks turn out anyways??? Bonus kick to to dk for the first guy to mention Brady😂😆😂

Tua hasn't gotten an extension yet and nor has than been whispers he's working on one. Joe Klatt mentioned in one of his mocks that Penix could give them the deep thrower they need and could be their 1st Rounder in April.

Interesting. Although by the time Penix is up to speed Tyreek Hillwill probably be losing a step and Waddle may not even be there anymore depending on who has to get paid next.

Worthy going to Miami is    Not. Nice.

Would much rather see DT in Round 4-5   (assuming the Longhorns are off the board at 28 and 60)

Beane has signed 3 DT's if you include DaQuan.

IMO he wanted to feel like the position is no longer a desperate need.

Slight smokescreen? Now I'm on the WR train baby but I could see Newton being the pick. Some will say you don't draft Ed Olivers backup in the 1st round but I think a man with Newton's talents the Bills would have plans for playing both of them at the same time on obvious passing downs.
