  1. FWIW Sal Capaccio straight-up said it was not true and questioned the integrity of BF Fanatics:
  2. I get everything but Net Gain > Net Loss. What is the range for comp picks based on first year salaries?
  3. LOL you know, I'm happy with McDermott but I was kind of thinking the same thing. If you're a Colts fan you have to almost feel like the team is likely better off with Reich over McDaniels. Also I didn't realized that McDaniels had the Colts hire 3 assistants before backing out. An extremely crappy thing to do.
  4. Probably not - I doubt NYG could handle both salaries.
  5. Yep just didn't expect to see that much fire. He did do a little "coach speak" but he did come off like a guy who knows what he's doing and will be successful. Of course, time will tell but I was impressed with his first impression
  6. I don't really understand how the NFL Compensatory pick formula works and it's good because it appears I'm not that only one - I don't think Sean McDermott or Doug Whaley knew either. I do know that the basis of the compensatory is to award teams draft picks for losing more free agents than they sign in an off season. I believe that the pick for players is determined by a number of factors including, snap count, salary, and awards etc. It's still not clear who was calling the shots in the 2017 offseason. Publicly, Whaley was presented as GM though some have speculated he might have been a lame duck with McDermott calling the shots. Either way the Bills botched this formula last season. Either way because of the salary cap situation last season, The Bills were not in position to sign any big free agent contracts. They did however sign a number of free agents including difference makers like Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and Steve Haushka. But they also were active in signing lower-end free agents like Haushka, Ryan Davis, Patrick DiMarco, Vlad Ducasse, Andre Davis and Gill Hodges. Signing so many free agents, namely lower end free agents, eliminated any compensation for Stephon Gilmore (3rd round pick) or Robert Woods (5th round pick). This was a tremendous oversight by the administration last season. Outside of Ducasse who had a decent season, you can make the argument that no of the other lower tier free agents really made an impact this season. It's very possible that the team could have found suitable replacements on the market had they waited, and they would have kept two more draft picks. Was it a huge deal considering the team made the playoffs finally? Probably not but two additional picks would have given this team even more options in the 2018 draft. Either way, they botched this pretty bad. Brandon Beane knows the Compensatory pick formula. Notice how when he traded Sammy and Darby this off-season the players received in return both had 1 year on their contracts? If the Bills could somehow keep these player then great - but I believe that he knew both players were likely to command big salaries on the open market, and that the Bills were unlikely to keep them. So by letting Gaines and Jordan Matthew walk, the Bills stand to collect two additional draft picks - namely a 3rd and 4th round pick. Don't expect the Bills to go on a spending spree next month. They may sign a few players to decent deals, but I'm fairly certain you won't see a run on Ryan Davis or Patrick DiMarco type players. I believe that Beane is looking to recoup 2 additional picks for Gaines and Matthews likely leaving.
  7. I might be a little late on this but Frank Reich's press conference in Indy kind of flew under the radar this week. I had a chance to watch his press conference and wow, the guy came off great. He speaks with a lot of fire and conviction. He seemed relaxed but very serious about winning. If Frank can somehow turn around the defense, I think that the Colts will be on the right track....or the Reich track. Whichever one. Maybe it's just me, but I thought he came off as very impressive:
  8. If they were going to trade him, last year would have been the time to do it. I don't buy it - considering they have draft picks this season and will likely get an additional 3rd (Gaines) and 5th (Matthews) compensatory pick in 2019, coupled with the 4th rounder for Ragland. I don't really see them needing an additional mid round pick for McCoy
  9. Not to offend my elders, but Gil is about 85 years old. He last worked in personnel about 30 years ago. He’s from a totally different era and a lot has changed. I don’t really take him seriously
  10. I get the impression they aren’t interested in anyone else in the 1st Round outside of Rosen and Darnold. We’ll see though
  11. I’m sure there would be more material than there was with Fred
  12. I think he’s worth re-signing. Decent blocker and he’s good for catches in the middle of the field. If anything, I think he can keep improving
  13. In my opinion they are two serperate lists. One for player drafted low, another for undrafted free agents. Is silly to have a “low round draft pick list” and then to quantify it by saying “oh by the way, undrafted free agents count too.” It doesn’t make sense
  14. We’ll have to agree to disagree here. I think the UDFA should be a different Top 5 List
  15. Yes I agree. That mat is not a trampoline. He’d be falling on his back most of the time in the ring
  16. We’re really getting into the weeds here. This is a list for low round picks. I would do exclusive 7th round picks but the old drafts were so deep it wouldn’t work. I think the Top 5 UDFA’s is a completely different list
  17. Because he was a free agent - not a draft pick. It’s really not that hard Darrick Holmes is certainly an interesting choice. Didn’t put him in the list because I thought the others were bigger contributors. Armour was a 4th round pick - not eligable. Fisher didn’t do enough in Buffalo
  18. I don’t see him wrestling regularly maybe a few appearances. The money is much better in movies etc
  19. No troll Kidd... like I said before Fred’s not the best subject for a roast. Glad it was a fun time for KoKo
  20. Not true. Just a better poll when you can focus on more modern years
  21. Yep not interested in going there. Narrowing down the time period makes it easier
  22. ...Again I’m not going back to 1960. This is the past 30 years here Before 88 is not my time which is why I keep these to the past 30 years. Patton, Wright, and McKellar were all stellar choices. I wouldn’t put them in the top 5 though. Pattin turned out to be a very decent starter. One of my personal favorites too. McKellar should have been awesome. He was primed to breakout but after the injury in 91 he lost his spot to Metzelaars and was never the same. Jeff Wright I feel was very overrated and a weak link on defense. I think he was a beneficiary of playing on a line with Bruce and Phil Hanson and Leon Seals (to a lesser extent). Still finding a starter at that position is fantastic value.
  23. To everyone saying Jason Peters.... I obviously didn’t include him because he never was drafted. If I ever do a Top 5 Undrafted Free Agents List, it’s going to be tough to see anywhere outside of #1 for JP Sorry but I’m going back to 1960 here. These lists are from my time which is about 30 years or so - shortly before the Super Bowl Era No these 3 are undrafted rookies. Not round draft picks. The former would make for another fun list
  24. Correct...these are the bottom of the barrel draft selections. 7th round or lower. Also this list only from the last 30 years of Bills drafting. I’m not going all the way back to 1960
