As we see every week in the NFL, there is absolutely NO guarantee that a receiver is even going to make the catch, whether it’s 10 yards downfield or 50. So yes, limiting a PI penalty to 10 or 15 yards would be a good thing.

That would be a huge mistake. You’d essentially ruin one of the most exciting parts of the entire game.

I know bombs are one of the things that drew me to the game as a kid. If you make pi a 10-15 yard penalty you’re guaranteeing every single bomb where the db is beat will end in a pi.

Heck, there’d be some teams/coaches that would strategize to do that stuff and squeeze them when they’re too close to attempt anymore bombs.

It would be a really bad idea for the game (making it result in more pi’s/flags, and much less bomb tds), and for the nfl because for the same reasons as it’s bad for the game. New watchers want excitement, not flag central.

You think that’s nuts? Sometimes when I’m feeling a bit cheeky, I stop by when I’m not even bowling. I find the lane with the most bowlers, walk up, and without saying a word saunter over to their fan and just feel the breeze.

They don’t even know what hit ‘em! I’ve had a bowler cry, the scene was so intense.

Let’s see what happens after 2-3 more losses.

Im not against Diggs but I definitely wouldn’t be shocked if we see and hear “un-captain” like behavior.

But I do believe McDermotts days should be numbered. Think about it, he has no DC and now his OC is Joe Brady. McD has had his chance and it’s time for a fresh start. How players react in the next couple months May also help that, Cause at this point I think Diggs is more important to the team over McDermott. Cause McD is failing, especially if this team finishing sub .500 at 8-9. 9-8 ain’t much better, that where this team is headed.

    “Un-captain like behavior?”

The guy is the only one that still seems to have some fire in him, he didn’t like the way this team was rolling since last year and he’s been completely proven right. He’s been quiet as a mouse while all this has been going down, and he would be completely right to speak up.

IF he speaks up and starts ruffling feathers, I’d 100% back it. The guy wants to win and be competitive, that sentiment doesn’t seem to be shared by this team.

I completely expect that he’s going to try and find a way off this team, and I wouldnt hold it against him. In fact, I think we should do it. He’s the only one on this team outside of Allen that would still command a return, and given how this team has been functioning with a bonafide #1 receiver it doesn’t seem to matter.

Imo, this teams needs a re-tooling and Diggs won’t be the same guy he is now by the time we’re ready to compete again. Get what you can now for the future.

Allen, Diggs, and Kincaid are about the only ones worth keeping around.

Unfortunately I don’t believe Diggs is the guy he is now, after a re-tooling of that size. I also dont see him sticking around for that.

If this is the course, you take what you can get for Diggs. His stock is higher than anyone on the team outside of Allen, and we’d need that return.

  5. It sure does seem like he doesn’t have that razor sharp focus of getting better every year.

I feel like he worked really hard to get good at the thing he loved, and then he started loving other things more.

I can’t really fault him for that. He’s still good, but without that focus he’s not going to get better. I feel like Diggs saw this coming. He’s all about ball and only cares about getting better and winning the whole thing. Josh is more the work/life balance kinda guy.

Being a 50 year season ticket holder I have seen the good, the bad, the ugly, the very good and the very bad. In the years after the Super Bowls and the team was mediocre, at best, I attended and watched the games with the high hopes of the Bills upsetting a good team or winning against other average teams. I always thought "on any given Sunday" the Bills would pull off the upset.

Now that we are (supposedly ) one of the better teams each week has me thinking that the other team thinks like I used to think, unfortunately this year it is coming true for them too often, I am just so frustrated with the game day coaching, the poor play and the excuses. I realize our defense is decimated but they are doing a fairly good job but our so called high flying offense from past years is crazy bad, bar a few drives a GAME.

Watching games today and seeing teams like the Pats, Jags ,Bengals and the Giants  I can't  help but wonder how the hello they got beat or almost beat by those teams. Dare I say it can only be coaching. That gives me little hope going forward. However, being the eternal optimist I have changed my expectations from expecting a win against inferior teams to, maybe the Bills can pull off a few upsets against good teams and play the bad or average teams close in spite of the coaching.

    GO BILLS

THEY'RE KILLIN ME WHITEY, THEY'RE KILLIN ME

100% agree. I have had generations of butterflies populating in my gut since 1988 when I first started watching the Bills. They made it through everything. Wide right, music city, countless terrible qbs and teams. I’m in a weird place right now. It appears this team has killed those butterflies. I don’t know if it’s age, life, not sure. But I dont wake up on gameday feeling them.

Even worse, i’ve been falling asleep at halftime during primetime games. I don’t have that nervous excitement that would keep me awake and eyes peeled like the past. Not sure if this is just a phase or what, but I don’t like it one bit. Almost feels to me like the team doesn’t seem to care, so why should I?

Easiest way to learn to play with an off ball guy in Madden is using a guy who's in a hard flat coverage

Keeps your job simple and not too much overthinking

I’m always the defensive tackles. Sometimes when I feel spicy I’ll use a linebacker on a play where I have them rushing the qb.

I have played Madden since the second game came out back in 1991, John Madden Football '92....

    ...HOWEVER...

There are many of us who stopped buying this POS product way back in 2020 because it is not real simulation NFL football, but an arcade-like version of NFL football. The animation based "Frostbite Engine" they use is utter crap, and everything funnels to MUT. NO "old guys" should be playing the current versions of Madden- EA should lose its exclusivity and a real quality product from hopefully 2K will be made. Save your time and money because Madden isn't it.

I don’t agree. I’m probably what you’d consider an “old guy” and I bought the new one mostly because if the Allen cover. I’m surprised how fun I find it. I exclusively play MUT. New challenges and cards every week. It keeps it fun and engaging.

Sure, there are people that take it too seriously and spend $100’s on packs, which is why I keep it to solo games and challenges. For what I use it for, I’m definitely getting my moneys worth out of it.

I don't even recall this play lol. 1 bad thing about Buf playing at night on Sun is I'm drinking all day n night and things get a lil spotty.

Should have a big impact once he's totally caught up with the playbook

That’s funny, sounds like I had the same kind of day as you except that was the only play I did remember.

See this is why I ignore stats.  We have great stats against ****teams and **** stats against good teams and can't win most big games.

McDermott has a losing record still in the playoffs.

Why though?  Why doesn't he tell Sean to pound sand and just do what he wants?  McDermott going to bench Josh?  Yeah I really want to see that lol.

I feel there is something there where Sean has something over Josh to be able to force him to play the way Sean wants

I believe that’s using the really bad, amped Josh games as evidence that he can’t play that way.

Josh is really in his head right now and I have zero doubt a lot of that is Mcdermott being in his ear telling him he has to trust HIS process.

There has to be a happy medium, and as much as I disliked a lot of what Daboll did, it’s clear he pushed back against Mcd and that’s why their relationship is as frosty as it is. Mcd wants things done his way.

  11. People are starting to pile on Josh. Not just the fans but analysts, etc. too. Not saying it’s not warranted in some respects but it’s a far cry from the love fest he’s received the last five years. He seems to be in a weird headspace with the low positive or whatever it is stuff he’s trying out.

We already know he’s an emotional guy on account of how amped we’ve seen him get in the past. I’m hoping he keeps that mindset of being able to take criticism and work on himself and doesn’t let all of it affect him negatively. Wether it’s fair or not, the team goes as Josh goes, and for the most part Bills fans love him. My worry is that one day enough will be enough and he goes the Beasley route of us vs. them (Bills fans included in the them). I’d hate that if we ever did win it all it would be more in spite of us than for us.

Again, I completely understand that in many cases it’s warranted, but he’s still young and we have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes with coaches, players, etc. I know right now it’s hard to be grateful and supportive, but the kid has given this team something we haven’t had in decades and he’s having a rough patch. This is a down year, many excuses to go around. But you know, no one feels it more than him. I believe he can right the ship, just might not be this season.

Bills went from the golden child to the step child to these analysts. 47 wins in 4 years and 3 straight AFCE titles. I can understand the skepticism about winning in the post-season, but you’re crazy if u don’t think they get there at all. Monday can’t come soon enough.

I think that’s a big part of it. They all picked the Bills to win it all and when they didn’t, they were all proven wrong. Now they want nothing to do with them.

I do get that though. They spend a few years singing their praises week after week and they fall short in the end. It causes a little burn-out. Heck, even I found myself a little disenchanted with the Bills and they’re my team.

Could you imagine not being a fan? It’s gotta be like, okay, here they are again playing well in the regular season, and this year we’re not even playing all that well.

  13. Well… that takes care of my two biggest worries. It’s a bummer that Milano is out, but we were going into the season thinking lber was our biggest weakness anyway. Luckily Bernard turned out to be much better than we thought, so it’s basically like the start of the season. One good lber.

Every team has a weakness, and at least we expected this one, though not the position we expected.

Not sure if it's been posted, but here's the thread from r/NFL

Comments are interesting. A LOT of upset Packers fans, and a lot of happy NFC North fans. Seems like at least on paper, the Bills won this trade.

I don’t know that it’s really that we won. I think it’s two teams needing to do different things because their clubs are in different spots.

I’m very happy with the deal, and Packers fans do seem bummed, but, if they were being honest with themselves, the 3rd and money savings will be better for the long run.  The Packers realistically have no shot at competing for anything meaningful during the years Douglas was signed for.  Win-win.
