None of this should be a surprise. His value was clear when the trade was made and those of us who were aware of him, knew this was a great addition.
Yeah, but it’s one of those occasions where the fit looked so perfect on paper you just knew you were in for a letdown.
No letdown, it’s a rare thing.

Is this a real thread? And is it really 13 pages??
Gotta start ignorin’ this stuff guys.

on a semi related note, i just saw a news snipped about how they're going to require alcohol monitoring in future car builds. i'm not sure if i have the completely correct, but it's the first time i've heard it.
edit: it seems there's a push to make it a requirement.
It’s crazy that Uber and Lyft are a thing that exists, and we still have to create technology to not allow people to drink and drive.
Thing is people will quickly find a way around it.

I don't care when it's the Chiefs.
I just think the whole thing is silly. They make it a spectacle. I’m all for panning over to a celebrity fan once on a game. But they’re really going overboard with this.
We’re watching for a football game, if I wanted to see Taylor every 12 minutes I’d be on YouTube.

Just show me some Taylor Swift. Much easier on the eyes than the rest of em.
I’m so over that. She gets wayyyy too much air time during the game.

Mahomes really dropped a few chapters in my book after last night. Allen never whined in his ear during a handshake.
The games that Allen lost to Mahomes were much higher stakes, and the one was an all-time classic. He took it like a champ and shook the guys hand like a pro.

You say this like it’s a bad thing. On a day when they completely took our #1 receiver out we were able to get it done and utilize more weapons.
This to me is a positive as Diggs is still great, but now we know if he gets swallowed up Josh can trust Cook in big time moments.

When Mahomes was talking to Allen he said something about “Offside.”

Don’t shoot the messenger. Nationally we are no longer the lovable Bills.
We’ve gone from “If my team can’t do it I want the Bills to win” and “The Bills are my spirit animal”…to “eff those guys.” And “what a joke”. And it’s not just fans of the Eagles or in the division.
Even if this is true, why are we supposed to care? It was like how the Patriots used to see us as the lil’ brothers for a decade. What did that get us? Slapped around twice a year.
Other teams fans can have their opinions. Doesn’t bother me one iota. Look how fast the Bengals fans went from being brothers and friends to wanting to stomp us into the ground and taking great pleasure in it when they did.
None of this matters.

For whom? And why should we care?

Von tore his ACL. Von would’ve been better than what Floyd is doing.
I can’t disagree with this. But he’s been great, and with Von going down we needed him more than we could’ve dreamed at the time.

Agree that there’s most likely friction on every team. But so much that there’s articles being written about it?
People were hyping Daboll’s offensive prowess and giving him full credit for Allen’s turnaround. I think he was eating up his hype with a spoon in Buffalo. Not to say that Mcdermott doesn’t have an ego, I believe he’s a head case as well. But well known animosity with other high ranking coaches on his last two teams? Where there’s smoke…

it won't phase his HOF election 1 bit, as far as being a GM we have to see how he handles himself in the public eye the next 5-10 years.
If he did get offered the gig and take it, he’d just tell us over and over again via interviews and social media that he would’ve taken less to work with the Cowboys.

Do you think this hurts his chances of being the next GM of the Buffalo Bills?

Do we even need this thread? I’d say the obvious, that if Allen went down so would our playoff hopes, but even with Allen we’re most likely not making the playoffs.
This team has much bigger problems than our back-up qb not being good.

One of the Bills worst free agent acquisitions in the history of the organization. What does the numbers look like if he’s cut after 2024 season?
Let’s not pretend that it wasn’t working at the time. We were top five in pass rush, when he got hurt, we went to mid-twenties. We all knew the risks involved. We just so happened to get the worst case scenario. Most believed where we were, and what we needed the risk was warranted.
It’s tough, but we took a swing. I’d rather have a team with that mindset than what we had for the 20 year drought. This one just happened to backfire.

Doesn’t a “wow” catch typically mean the ball wasn’t super accurate and the receiver had to make some sprawling adjustment to catch it?
I feel like having to do that isn’t what you’re going for.

He sure did; just remember we were a dumpster fire before he got here. The grass isn’t always greener…
How were we a dumpster fire? We were coming off a great season.
Free agents were coming here cheaper than they’d get elsewhere. You don’t do that to go to a dumpster fire.

That would only save Pegula money. The Bills are still on the hook for a mountain of dead cap.
Ahh… gotcha. Well that stinks.

If there’s a possibility of voiding the deal, I bet the Bills front office is jumping up and down and high fiving each other like they just made a great pick-up in the draft.

Andre Johnson a HOFer? He's a semi finalist. I think it's very debatable
It’s definitely debatable, but you know there’s some crusty ol’ gatekeepers holding that fight against him. They love to think that football isnt the most violent game on earth.

I don’t know if he beat the crap out of him. Looks like one hit on the back of his head.

I lost all cutting ability when I tore my acl. Not sure if it was all in my head, but I went from running around people to running directly into them.
We’re talking about sandlot stuff. I’m not comparing myself to Von in any way, shape, or form. But he appears to go directly at the lineman now. He was able to get away with that when he had the bends as well, because the lineman didn’t know what he was bringing. But if they know he’s going directly at them, with no threat of his other tools, i couldn’t see it being very difficult for these huge dudes to slow him down. He was never the biggest guy, and his game was never all power.

Who are you releasing to add an always hurt guy? The defense probably has enough hurt guys. Also if you do add him whose snaps is he taking and which package does he fit in?
He’s said he’s open to the practice squad. Add him to the squad, get him up to speed, and if there are any injuries or someone’s leaving a bit on the table, you bring him up.
Like I said, why the f not?
And don’t try and go the “with what money” route. Beane would make it work if he wanted to.
Also, if this happened it would be because Beane wanted it to, so again, why the f not?
It’s not exactly like I’m pounding the table for the guy. Just a nice insurance body, just in case.
