WR Matthew "24 karat" Golden- Texas
This WR class is very underwhelming.. I would be disappointed if we go WR with our first or second pick..

It’s too early to tell. I’m not saying Beane had a good draft, but I’m not saying he had a bad one either.

Here’s my Top 10 (in no particular order):
1.) Jevon Holland, Safety, Miami
2.) DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Chiefs
3.) Marquise Brown, WR, Chiefs
4.) Amari Cooper, WR, Bills
5.) Darius Slayton, WR, Giants
6.) Tedarrell Slaton, DT, Packers
7.) Jeremy Chinn, Safety, Commandors
8.) Joshua Uche, EDGE, Chiefs
9.) Marcus Maye, Safety, Chargers
10.) Jay Tufele, DT, Bengals

Buffalo is kind of in a bad spot. Every talking head that I’ve listened to has said that this a horrible draft at WR. So we’re kind of stuck with what’s available in Free Agency unless we want to trade for someone.
-
I think I agree with the overall consensus here and the overall fan favorite, Kenneth Grant.. He’s a complete DT prospect. He can stop the run and he can get in the backfield. He’s exactly what we need next to Ed Oliver..

I’m hearing from the talking heads that this draft is weak at WR but deep at DT, DE and RB. Because of that I think we should go WR in Free Agency and perhaps Safety as well. Picks 1, 2, 3 should be on DL.
-
Yes and no. If he’s making vet minimum I wouldn’t have a problem with it.
-
We won’t know for sure till their third year..
-
Say what you want, but the way Beane aggressively traded up for Josh Allen is enough to cover his sins but I agree with Monos to a degree.

I didn't say I was against signing him, but he isn't going to sign for anything close to $20M. Spotrac has Shakir at like $19.7M (although I think he signs on a home town discount for less).
Higgins is the only high quality WR on the market. Next best is Cooper who is a class below Higgins. And I didn't say he was worth $30M, but that doesn't mean he won't still get closer to $30M than $20M. I mean Christian Kirk who was far less accomplished than Higgins got $20M per when he signed with the Jags and that was like 3 years ago.
$25M is about what I think he is worth, but I think there is a reasonable chance he can get more, probably like $27M+ per
I’m okay with $25M/year for Higgins. This offense would be unstoppable. Maybe he would take slightly less to play with Josh?

He’s very good but not $30M good. Spotrac says $25M, you say $30M, I guess we’ll have to wait and see..
Can you imagine our offense with Higgins, Shakir and Cook though? Especially if Coleman and Kincaid take a step?

I'm just looking at a key offensive player who puts up TDs, moves the chains, and is consistently making plays for us.
To me that's worth 14 mil a year for a short term deal.
If the Bills were really committed to winning they would extend Cook and Shakir and then sign Tee Higgins in Free Agency.
-
Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
If we truly want to swing for the fences this Free Agency and really pay someone. Pay Tee Higgins NOT Khalil Shakir. Maybe $20M/year would get it done?
Tedarrell Slaton, NT, Green Bay Packers
6’4 330lbs run stopping behemoth, brings size, youth and physicality to our DL. Will most likely get about $4M/year.
Marcus Maye, S, Chargers
Experienced veteran, adds depth to safety, will probably get around the veteran minimum.

I think you go after the low hanging fruit. Rasul Douglas for $8M/year. James Cook for $10M/year (no more than $12.5M). Terrell Bernard for $10M/year. Khalil Shakir for $13M/year.
Then you revisit Gregory Rousseau and Christian Benford in the 2026 offseason.
I would not pay Amari Cooper at this point unless it’s a bargain.
-
I’m hoping we draft a NT and sign one in Free Agency. It’s still early but I would like to see us draft Kenneth Grant and maybe go after someone like Tedarrell Slaton in Free Agency..
Slaton won’t cost much, he’ll probably get $4M/year and he’s a true nose. He’s 6’4 330lbs and is tough to move off of the LOS.
Maybe bring Daquan Jones or Jordan Phillips back at $1M/year?

Beane's drafting seems to be identify 3-4 needs or urgent depth areas and draft the best player from that area. I think that's the best way to balance need/BPA. You need a DT/WR/DE/CB take the highest ranked player on your board from one of those positions.
I’m hoping we re-sign Rasul Douglas as I don’t think he will cost much. Benford, Douglas and Taron Johnson is a pretty good group but depth behind them would be nice. McD has a stellar track record when it comes to late round DBs (Levi Wallace, Dane Jackson, Christian Benford etc.) Take one then.
-
Obviously we need a WR at some point, but we need a DT and DE also. I think we should go BPA within that construct.

Player's side, he's worth it, or close anyway. Team's side, no thanks.
Draft another third-rounder. The new guy will play great behind this terrific OL.
Too many other key guys coming due the same year.
Fans hold close to the archaic view that RBs are never worth a second contract or a big payday. I think in some cases they are. How are we going to replace 18 TDs? That’s a lot of production that we need to replace. Not to mention that we have to burn a high draft pick in doing so.
-
It’s way too early for this. Let me see what we do in Free Agency and the Draft first.

Tee Higgins at the right price would be awesome, but it all comes down to the bottom line.
I do like the combination of Amari Cooper and Marquise Brown working together if any deal with Tee Higgins falls through.
I think Adams or Hopkins on a one year deal should be our last ditch effort if we can’t sign Higgins, Cooper or Brown.
