Fahey is trying to build a career as an expert in the way Mel Kiper did.   Just some guy who didn't know anything about football, just a fan, who studied stats and reached conclusions, started writing about his conclusions and observations.  Then he got a job at a recognized outlet.  The guy doesn't know the first thing about being a quarterback.   Not to say he couldn't learn, but that will take decades, not years.

Kiper is completely self-taught.   He doesn't understand what a team's needs are, and he doesn't understand that teams are looking for the best player without regard to need, but his mock drafts repeatedly are based on his perceptions of a team's need.   It's ridiculous.

Yes, you can put together reels like this on any QB, but it's a lot tougher to do it for Brees or Rodgers than it is for Allen.   For Brees, he rarely seems to be in a hurry; for Rodgers it seems he performs well when he's in a hurry.   For Allen, it translates into a sub-60 completion percentage.

Which,  goes right into the 2nd part of my point. If thats the cost, thats cool w me. We all want consistency but w a boom or bust player, as long as its on the boom side it is what it is

  2. I dunno, i think theres a such this as being overly sensitive.  This might be that instance. Sure, these were some terrible throws. Some might have been better off not caught. Some may have bordered on throwaway, ie, ill put it out of reach and if my guy happens to catch it hes the only one i want w a sniff at it. Others just too quick - bad throw.

That said, you can put a reel like this together from most qbs. Secondly,  if we have to deal w the occasional blip to get the crazy game breaking plays... im good w that. Its only when its reverses that it becomes an issue.

  3. Both are pretty bad imo. Hopefully the Rams are decent. I know the word mark has gotten some hate - but imo the jerseys are what matters. These are two fails. Im not sure which i dislike more. Both are faulty bc both teams had a great oppertunity to (although both claim they did) draw from the past to come up with something both aesthetically pleasing and classic. The bucs claim they went throwback, but is going back to something that was abandoned in 2013 really throwback? Its essentially how the sabres went old school after the slug. They went to a redesigned look of the old design but with some tewaks. These tweaks are essentially the difference in Nikes ability to replicate what Adidas once designed. The silver color of the pants for example is now longer possible to make by nike, so we get a dark smoke grey rather than shiny pewter. The sabres added under arm piping to fit with the reebok edge bc the jersey fit had changed from the ccm days.

Football jerseys have changed shape as well, so this was essentially an update with the tweek of the pole on the ship being behind the sail rather than the front.

Now, the falcons?! YUCK. 1st off, with the drop shadow on the numbers?? This has been done ONCE well. Thats the 9ers 94 and now current throwbacks. Anything else looks very 90s and dated. Their previous current kit was dated in this same way. Rather than do what it seemed most people wanted and embrace their throwback w a home and away and maybe a red helmet, the continued the Nike trend of jerseys that look out of touch and date before they even hit the street.  Weird numbers, ATL just thrown under the collar WAY too large, and again...the stupid drop shadow. These fall right in line w the jets and the browns (**who once again are getting a redesign this offseason**) as just generic video gamey arena league designs. Nike actually seems to do college well. Im not sure if its the nfl restrictions or what, but  imo the only nike update thats worked was the very 1st, and even the Seahawks are now getting a little dated and their old throwbacks are starting to become popluar.

The Broncos are the only team that now remains from the original Arena league looking overhaul from the early 2000s. The Bills bailed in 2011 thankfully and the Falcons are finally updated although they missed the boat. Luckily, along w that the trend of totally adopting a new colorway has diminished.

Its worth mentioning, neither team planned these knowing the helmet rule was going into the trash.

Im not sure it mattered, but why the Buccs said the fans wanted this (they all wsntsd bucco bucco Bruce back) and went back to 2013 rather than an update of the 70s i dont know.  Whats even weirder is they went w the right idea, but w the wrong concept. The falcons just missed the boat entirely rather than updating the red helmet Dion era.

And thats all i have to say about that;)

I rooted for him and wanted him to be Kelly’s successor, but like I said before the team didn’t have his back and they kicked him out the door too quick.

I remember when he got drafted I was like, Who the ***** is this guy LOL, until we traded up for him I had never heard of him and didn’t know about his college career. Even then it seemed like such a out of left field choice to draft him. I can’t remember but was he even being mentioned of being a first round pick? Should’ve taken Big Ben

I suppose,  i guess i was referring to his long and illustrious career he had prior to his time w the bills as a backup

Trust me I like Reich as much as the next fan. But he was in no way a starting QB, both Carolina and The Jets found that out the hard way. Great teammate and probably the best back up that ever played the game, but was a horrible starter. If the NFL had a Hall Of Fame for back ups he’d probably be a first ballot lol

Todd Collins might have something to say about that...

    i say no....to me barkley is a #3

i value the backup qb more than most. i think it's the 10th most important position on the team.

the way they addressing so many needs in free agency....makes me think a QB is possible in the 2nd or 3rd round.

especially if they add a RB before the draft

10th? Like you've actly made a list? Well, i guess we all have some extra time now lol

  7. The horn is obviously classic, but i dint know why people are pretending like this is a slug or something.

You need to show the horn - check

You need to show its LA - check

Its needs to be simple - check

Sure, they messed w a good thing, but the 70s to early 90s wasnt the prime scheme/logo anyway so i reserve judgment until we see the jersey and helmet itself rather than get worked up about a work mark logo, that really, the worst thing i can say about it is its LIKE the slug in that it has a trump vibe...

    Good read

    https://news.sportslogos.net/2020/03/23/los-angeles-rams-reveal-new-logo-color-scheme/

Good comparison of the old, throwback, and new color schemes. Also, dont forget this logo is replacing a white and navy ram as the primary logo so id imagine its not even the logo most people are thinking it replaces fwiw.

That said, it kinda lost me at the graident in the horn is supposed to represent both a spiral of a football and a wave.... why cant the ram horn just represent a ram horn?! Lol

A lot of the talk this off season here has been on the Bills trading for Stephon Diggs which although we view it as a instant upgrade to the WR room at one bills drive some think the Bills paid to much to get him but i for one believe there were some underlying factors that pushed his price as far as draft pick compensation higher than it would have normally given those involved in trying to get his services .

I have heard that not only the Bills were after Diggs but so were the Pats which may or may not have made a difference if Brady decided to stay or not we will never know but if by some chance Beane knew as much that alone could have made him decide to give more in compensation than normal to keep the wicked witch of the east from staying on top for another couple of years .

A lot of comparison has been drawn to the Hopkins deal with the Cards of which they got him for a song this guy was one of the best since he came out in the draft & he just goes & does his job there is no prime donna tendencies surrounding him at all like his soon to be team mate Fitz in AZ.

One larger than life NFL Expert Peter King thinks the Bills over paid for Diggs due in part to the amount of WR's in this years draft i'm not sure if one of those players could have been drafted by the Bills & made as big of a contribution as Diggs in their first yr but i do know they could have been a lot cheaper in respect to how many players they could have gotten in the draft & how much monetary compensation they will pay for one player vs. 4 they gave up .

    https://billswire.usatoday.com/2020/03/23/peter-king-buffalo-bills-overpaid-vikings-stefon-diggs/

I guess we will all be hyped to see exactly what Diggs will bring to the table & if Josh will cash in on his presence in the offense. I trust Beane in that to this point he has made more moves to better the team than hurt it so i am giving him the benefit of the doubt even though the compensation was pretty high for this player but if he makes that big of a immediate difference then it will all be worth it !!

    Yo, check this out!

An ENTIRE thread with the answers you seek!!

Youll find likeminded people talking about the same thing!

    I think you'll 'digg it' ;)

  9. I personally dont think its terrible.... not great, but not terrible. That said, new era often uses secondary logos and word marks for hats. I doubt that will be the helmet logo (hope it wont) and this is just more of a rebrand with smaller changes and the uniform stays similar. I guess we will see

Formally for the purposes of NFL rules, any position coach or co-ordinator role is treated the same. An interview can only be forced upon a team for a Head Coach interview.

Any little titles like Assistant Head Coach are meaningless for job interview rules purposes

No. Its still a lateral. Even a D line or RB coach is considered a lateral to DC/Assistant HC.

As has been stated tirelessly over the past 4 pages

This thread is litterally someone stating this and then someone correcting them, then a few Fraizer posts, and then back to ghe start again lol

Hmmm, apparently not too steep this year for  Debo Samuel, AJ Brown, Mecole Hardman, DK Metcalf, or Terry McLaurin.  Very silly comment.

Traditionally,  it generally takes a season or two for a WR to blossom. Sure, there are guys who pick it up right away. Sure, you can force feed a guy and if a wr can catch- he will. Its possible you guys dont disagree per se as much as just arent on the same page. AJ Green for example, got it. But it took a couple seasons for him to learn his craft and come the beast he became. Some guys like Zay for example never get it, and some come hot out of the box. I guess it just makes which one you choose all the more important vs trading for one whos already done the growing and its added cost the question!

Ok, let me get this straight and then I’m done with it.

    a. I’m one of the worse posters on this message board by your estimation. Check.

    b. I need to clarify better on keeping just 2 QBs rather than 3 despite the fact that that has been the case for the last several years. This is where I applaud your comprehension. Check.

    c. AB is a scumbag and doesn’t deserve any chances according to you, and I, like you, are or should be better human beings than him. Hmm, interesting. Ok, check.

    d. Last but not least I’m not worthy of an opinion but apparently you are. Check.

You’re not just another poster, you’re God. Please forgive me, I must have sinned.

Nah brah, its the asinine views you obviously take for attention. Do you honestly feel like after dodging a bullet last year, it would be beneficial for this team to bring in AB?

Domestic crap aside (sadly, its hard to do but for the sake of conversation) after watching the way he operates you think thats a good thing for this locker room? It was debatable last year. After the year hes had, his paid (or sometimes unpaid) associates dropping him like flies, and the constant circus (see saints asking to drop the entourage and he couldnt) not to mention pending charges that if cleared to play could snap him back out of the lineup in a jiffy (this causing the team to have to adjust) you think bringing THAT guy in here is what this team needs? They need him like a hole in the head!

As far as qbs go, i dont think it takes any special level of comprehension to read what you wrote and not take it as you wanted Dalton breathing down your potential FQB1's neck. There was no mention of Barkley, and the jump is you want to disrupt his growth by making him concerned about his job? That again seems like sabotage and shooting yourself in the foot just for the sake of doing it.

I stand by what i said, and continue to be happy you arent the guy in charge. I dont even mean that as an insult, and there is no god like will behind it. You can make your point in paragraph form or try and snazz them up with bullet points, they remain (respectfully) just as flawed!

If I was looking for attention and suggested similar ideas Id HOPE that someone would offer resistance and try to alter my thought process so I could be a better, and as a result, happier fan. Is it fun calling for things that will never happen? That just seems like a path to being a miserable 'fan' because if thats what you want and otherwise wont be happy, what fun is that?!

Ok, I’d rather have Andy Dalton than Matt Barkley on the roster. Anointing somebody a position without competition is ridiculous. Your response is right up there with the all time “great” responses.

Of course, id expect nothing less from a person who is constantly lumped in as chronically one of the poorest posters here, but you said LIGHT A FIRE UNDER JOSH ALLEN - this implying the open competition was w Dalton and Josh... so you bringing up Barkley now is either you trying to better explain something you didnt make clear OR youve realized how silly it was and are now trying to save face. Either way, no thanks

You literally put THIS in the same post arguing why we should bring in that scum bag Antonio Brown... have you not paid attention to that saga? You are just ok rooting for someone who cant even seem to act like a human being? Dude..  be better than that. I dont care how good he was, be better than that. Learn from the past and how lucky we were to dodge that bullet last yr, why would you ever want to put your hat back in that ring?!?

'If Andy Dalton doesn’t stay in Cincinnati and doesn’t get a starter’s job then I would seriously would give thought to adding him in an open competition to really lighting a fire under Allen’s ass. Nobody on this roster should be comfortable until this franchise can compete at the a very high level. '

That, to me, has nothing to do w Barkley and all to do w/Allen. If that and bringing Brown in are your thoughts, maybe consider giving up thinking. Im just happy McBeane is our GM and not Tipster..

This year Beane has a lot at his disposal to take some calculated shots/risks this upcoming year. With 90+M to spend, more than just having a good core of a roster to add to but also utilizing that cap space to his advantage in potential trade(s). No doubt, Beane has an awful lot to work with this year. Off the top of my head I think that only the Colts have more clout this year than any other team in the league.

Different scenarios/possibilities that could be work is a Houston/Cleveland type trade. Bottom line is Arizona is pretty much stuck with a player that they don’t to pay or use in RB David Johnson. Beane can afford to take on most of that contract and possibly gain a value draft pick, maybe a 4th rder for Johnson. Unless Johnson has a debilitating knee injury that isn’t being fully disclosed than I don’t believe that this one time blue chip has fallen that much off the map. In taking on Johnson the Bills will be gaining a very good to great veteran RB while gaining a great draft pick by simply using that excessive resource in cap space. On top of that they don’t have to use a draft pick to add to their RB position room.

    https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/02/08/david-johnsons-contract-makes-it-very-hard-to-release-him/

I can’t stand him but there is no denying his work ethic and ability in WR Antonio Brown. Could this be the perfect timing to adding him to the roster? It appears that he has  no where to go and Buffalo surely needs the talent at WR that Brown possesses. Construct a 1 year prove it type contract with an easy out and this has the potential of being a blockbuster type acquisition for the Bills.

As far as TE Greg Olsen goes give him a great tour first hand and show him exactly what we got going on over here in Buffalo. Then give him whatever he wants on a stackable 2 year deal, he’ll be worth every penny of it.

If Andy Dalton doesn’t stay in Cincinnati and doesn’t get a starter’s job then I would seriously would give thought to adding him in an open competition to really lighting a fire under Allen’s ass. Nobody on this roster should be comfortable until this franchise can compete at the a very high level.

I would think that the LB and DE positions this year should be a big time priority for the Bills. How they address I don’t know but I do expect it.

It’s good to hear some recent progress on Christian Wade. I do believe the Bilks retained him so they can utilize him sooner rather than later.

anyways I think this year is going to be a great, great acceleration for this franchise. Go Bills!

That fact that you just suggested bringing in andy dalton in an open competiton at qb to supplant the 3rd yr presumed future of the franchise has given you the title of worst post in the history of this board. Such an honor is not to be taken lightly as there have been some doozies, but from now on anything you say will just be laughed at. Smdh. Wtf dude?!?

  15. Respectfully,  it wont even be a blip on the radar.i could personally care less and id imagine most of the NFL would agree.

Before the week started id thought 'hmm, itd be nice to see shady, sammy, and ol'reg get a ring. Go chiefs ' Then, they opened their mouths. Youd think reporters could have come up w better questions SB week and its not like they brought it up on their own.... but their comments changed my rooting interest.

I liked shady and always thought he was funny. Hell, i wrongfully defended him in that I thought hed have a bounce back year. When all is said and done, ill remember shady for not being in touch w reality. Rather than admit hes spent, its getting to be outlandish excuses and reasons defending his diminished skill set like he's still shady of old. I mean can you really go your who life thinking every one else is crazy w/out it ever occuring to you maybe you were the crazy one all along?

Right now it's about "I'm not a top-10 QB contending for a championship, so I'll build my brand where I can - with stunts"
