Ok.
Glad you acknowledge I’m correct.
I’ll try to be nicer next time. Maybe put a glitter emoji ✨ next to Beane’s name for you.
So what IS the context?
I grew up and all I knew of the Bills before Josh Allen was the drought.
I want one, just one, Super Bowl while my Dad, who raised me in Bills fandom, is on this earth with me.
We have the most talented QB, maybe, to ever play the game.
And his GM has gotten worse and worse in recent years to the point where most unbiased folks would admit this is the worst Bills team Allen has ever had around him in our contending years.
KC might not even make the Playoffs. Yet we’re in a dogfight for a Wild Card. Last year of Highmark, likely zero home playoff games.
New England has caught up and has a ton of cap space next year. Divisions are no longer a given.
We have 20M tied up in two WR’s we knew had injury concerns.. and they’re both never healthy. We seem to have missed on our last two highly drafted weapons.. one bc of talent/immaturity and the other due to injuries and an inability to be a complete TE. We extended a chess piece to play slot, but he’s really not a reliable slot player.
Credit for the OL and RB room. 100%. Kromer is amazing and they can draft, sign and develop OL like few others.
But the weapons, for the investment, might be the worst rate of return in the league… for Josh Allen. The guy most of us have waited our whole Bills lives for.
Not rehashing Defense anymore. You should know where I stand by now. I hate the scheme and philosophy. Think they’d be pretty good if healthy, but could see that not having any chance of happening a mile away.
These are the trials and tribulations that any team faces though. Beane has taken swings. Some were hits, some were misses - all were done in the available frame work.
This team is better than the Chiefs who are having a bad year. They understand sometimes you just have a bad yr due to injuries etc. Most arent trying to run Andy out of town. I think the issue arrises when everything is all negative. Only two or three teams each year might not have glaring issues.
If youve been through the drought, you know how bad it can be. I think the disconnect is, some fans act like this is a 3 win team and as fans we are dealing with utter incompetence from the coach and/or GM.
Take the Slay situation... he tried adding depth with someone who's been there and won before and is a year removed from a meaningful contribution with a pick in the WC game. Instead of realizing this is an attempt to improve the team, people act like he had his choice to sign Chase or Watt and chose Slay instead.
Now, with hindsight we can make a stink and criticize him for doing it and it not working and losing a player. I guess losing Ingram sucks, but he wasnt the reason we were or weren't going to make it to a SB. Full picture and hindsight these aforementioned fans are going to rail on him, but like I said yesterday, they are the same fans who would be moaning and complaining if New England signed him bc they added a gritty piece of depth with SB experience.
You dont become one of the best regular season teams in the last 5 yrs based solely on JA. Its a culture, and as we know it could be a whole lot worse. Im not saying be content w making the playoffs, but if a new coach or GM comes in you arent guaranteed the playoffs or to advance further.
You have JA as your QB, let the man try and fix the issue now that its clear band aids arent working. We act like they are just sitting on their hands. Heck, Id have been annoyed if they did land Waddle bc that's not the #1 I wanna roll with for the next 3 yrs. It wlda been helpful this year, but we can and hopefully will do better now that we know they know as contructed this WR core is not good enough.
Football fandom has changed and now its we want everything right away. Fans voices are louder than ever before and while this obviously isnt the best version of this club in the past few years, the people who want to fire Beane for it is just asinine. They dont need to be coach/GM forever, but they haven't even bottomed out which is why all this is a bit much and just impatient fans being impatient fans. It just gets old to continuously hear people who have never worked a day in the league keep complaining bc they think their GM is a bummer. Id venture to guess they are both well respected around the league. Neither of them has committed something thats a fireable offense YET.
YOU might not agree w his moves, but this isn't madden. Let him come out of the weeds and see how they fix this before hanging them in town square. You do you, but not living on the edge and wanting to blow everything up while having a bit more of a measured and realistic view makes for a much more enjoyable season. They are aware the idea is to win. Sometimes you win, sometimes you loose. Come back off the ledge and let it play out.

It doesn’t look good. Beane claims a vet who was hoping to finish his career in Philly. Releases a depth piece who is claimed by the best defense in the league and then the vet he claimed won’t report and threatens to retire.
He looks like a clown.
Which is what he’s turning into lately. Sideshow Beane. Since drafting Allen, which is the only reason he’s still here… Meh draft after meh draft. Awful contracts all over the roster. Arguing with morning show hosts and then going on a victory tour with Pat McAfee.
The dude has Josh Allen fighting for his life because of a horrible Knox contract, horrible Samuel contract, horrible Palmer contract, bust of an early 2nd in Keon and yeaaaa I’m gonna say it, a bust of a trade up 1st rounder in Kincaid.. always hurt and with an organization that barely plays him when he’s healthy because he can’t block anyone but WR’s.
Oh, but the injuries on defense!!! How could anyone ever foresee that coming??
Undersized DT. Undersized LB. Injury prone DE we had to sign because he keeps missing on draft picks. DE coming off PED’s. Does anyone know what PED’a put you at risk for?… yup, tendon/ligament injuries. It’s not surprising. He’s built a roster made of glass. Most of these injuries aren’t bad luck. Samuel & Palmer have injury histories… 20M tied up in those two hospital frequent flyers.
Beane is a joke. And if being wildly mediocre in surrounding our freak show QB with a team he can win a Super Bowl with wasn’t enough.. he’s now making a fool of himself, not once… but twice
this year.
THIS post deserves to go on a plaque as its everything wrong with current toxic fandom that soaked in 20/20 hindsight from a Monday morning quarterback. Id wonder if its actually from a Bills fan but there is definitely a small but vocal contingent of fans who choose to wear goggles that see their team this way. A lot of what was said isnt even wrong, its the context and lens in which it was said that makes it gross and out of touch. Im surprised he couldn't find a way to fit former Panthers players in too...

I think the real issue is bigger than the Slay move. The complaining is a microcosm of Beane's roster construction, Cap nightmare, contract extensions, various acquisitions, etc...Its not just about one move. Hope that helps you understand the mindset of many frustrated Bills fans.
I mean, ya, we all feel that way to a degree but it is where it is and this is where we are. As much as people on the outside looking in seem to be enjoying being proven correct, its just low hanging fruit. Id rather he try and do whats possible instead of doubling down on his initial read that everything is OK. That might even be easier given how he stuck his head out in April. Instead he's seemingly eaten the perverbial crow. Im not saying you feel this way as you are simply trying to explain and while I appreciate it - I understand why people do it. But these 'fans' are just taking the low hanging fruit. Its the same ones that would be lining up for a kick at the can if NE signed Slay and then theyd be pissed he sat on his hands while a competitor signed a vet with an edge who's won before and can provide depth. I get its a message board, its just a shame it inadvertently screams yelling at coulds/get off my lawn/complain to complain football fans. You'll never make everyone happy... the shtick just gets old after a while

Man... how can someone be mad about a former SB champ at a depth signing?! I get it doesnt help the pass rush or catching passes (from Allen) but now people wanna come to Buffalo for a chance. Take it for what it is rather than complaining its not a fictional WR/DE that doesnt exist at this stage of the season. Some of you are acting like Beane had a choice of Jefferson or Chase and chose Slay instead. Then people are still acting like its a novel joke that hasnt already been made 50x in the previous 8 pages...Yikes

Why didnt players who were exempt bc they were grandfathered in to the NHLs helmet rule wear helmets?
Athletes do what works for them. Maybe a trend will start, but until then its the exception rather than the rule to take extra steps for safety.
We have a helmet law while riding motorcycles in NYS. South Carolina doesnt. We think it's nuts to ride without. Guess how most people in SC roll?
Hell, even as a kid when the major push for kids to wear bike helmets started to occur in the 90s - most didnt. Future generations did, just as now it seems absurd to play hockey w/out a helmet and most kids wouldn't dream of it.
Itd seemingly be an odd rule to implement, but until it does, until peoole have to (like Josh choosing to wear a visor for protection) they wont.
It is what it is.. but it deff is.

So who in the organization got outed as a mole due to the grey helmet rumor leaking. They probably gave everybody a different color to see who would blab to the press.
Still have the Nike program. All along, thats been silver and white. I think the general confusion was the Bills were doing their own thing and then have the Rivels Nike thing. Thats still coming, the Bills just didnt clarify which was dropping today although it was safe to assume the Nike thing will come in conjunction w other teams

If this report is true (and I am highly skeptical of Trainwreck Sports), then it’s yet another example of Pegula having no idea what the fans actually want.It is indeed true. I alluded to it about a month ago. That said, I thought and was told that this combo was the Nike 'city connect' type jersey from their new program. So, whichever it is, its apparently different than the program nike mandated.

Fwiw, this sounds like itll be a little closer to the colorway for the Nike program.

How was that your take away? He's a well spoken kid who seems to be mature and have a good head on his shoulders and is the opposite of Diva. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, I'm just not sure how it can be viewed as anything other based on what's said within that clip..

Package him with 30 and move up in the draft.
This is the 2nd thread you've posted this in...Sooo.... you don't want him to pay him, but some other team will want to pay him AND give assets to do so?! Isn't this thought process based on RB being interchangeable? I've never understood why fan bases think like this. We don't want this, but someone else will and will pay us accordingly

Then don't waste peoples time complaining unless you have the brains to back it up my man. That is the laziest response ever. You acted like you had the smarts for an intelligent convo so I tried giving u the benefit of the doubt. Youve proven me wrong. I didn't expect you to say I was right, but I expected more than a response sinilar to what my 3 yr old daughter can muster in an argument about watching another episode of TV! Your team is 11-3. Appreciate what you have or go back to rooting for the Dolphins and stop wasting people's time. Pretty simple. In the mean time have fun and I hope you graduate trolling 101, bc that response is crap people pulled back when they were still on dial up....

awww boo-boo... wittle feelings hurt? take the rose colored glasses off. Allen is championship caliber. LeSean McClappy is not.
And... who are you going to replace him with? And how do you plan on getting Allen behind that move? Bc at the end of the day, the impass here is that it matters not who has what colored glasses. It doesn't matter in the least what you think. What matters is what the team as a whole thinks. The anti McD crowd is fighting a fight that at this point in time is just utterly pointless bc until Terry, Josh, and or Beane feel otherwise - the fans don't matter. Many coaches of a lower caliber have gone to and won a SB. SO many things need to go right during a season. He seems head over heals better and in a different league than his predecessors. He's also adapted. Is he perfect? Nope. Is his game mgmnt always spot on? Nope, but then again maybe 2 fan bases in the whole league feel like they can't complain. Do his players play hard for him? They sure seem to. Does Josh like him? They tell each other they love each other, so I'll say yes to that as well. He just became the 5th coach in history w 11 straight winning seasons, some of the best to ever do it with HOF QBs didn't accomplish that. But sure, Joe Schmo must be able to come in and do that too bc he's got Josh Allen. Sure, it'd be nice if he was from the O side rather than the D bc of the continuity it would bring. Personally, I don't like that best case is we look for a new OC every off season bc the last one got promoted - but it's life w a D minded HC. Dude, we've seen S***show coaches around here and this ain't it. Be careful what you wish for...

Aww boo-boo, simping for the team owner 🤣. Lighten up Francis.
Wait, why are you crying? Who is Francis? As an aside, who gets on a teams owner when said team is 10-3? You must be a hoot at parties. It's the equivalent of being mad at Josh Allen because he wore green cleats last game. Kinda weird, kinda petty, fits your MO perfect!

chubby terry isn't gonna make any changes. The personnel is mediocre at best, the whiffs on the DL especially at DE are going to be the albatross.
Not great cap situations due to over paid players is never going to get the talent required.
Mcdermott is who he is. the scheme is good vs ***** QB's. we're simply a better version of Miami.
Not only is this a terrible take, ya kinda sound silly for just the way you phrase it. After one grown man calls another chubby, it's kinda hard to take anything that comes after serious - good point or not. In this instance, it's not... but that's not the point.

Just my own hypothesis, I think Allen may have checked into the sneak. There was a TE at the end of the line that kind of looked like he was going to run a route initially. That might also explain the confusion on what to do after it failed.
It's possible, McD mentioned they wanted to go w their best play this yr rather than throw in his presser. I guess we may never know

But youve been one of the best teams in the NFL for 5 yrs. It sucks they haven't gotten over the hump, and if not for perhaps the best QB of the era they prob would have. Think about how many good teams Kelly kept out in a 5 yr span. Only one team can go to the SB. Of course the goal is to get there, but let the guy who's been better than so many other teams for so long have a chance and building it back up again. Heck, last yr was supposed to be a rebuild and they managed to make it pain free with a team that was good enough to go to the dance.
Now, do I think perhaps we like the idea of drafting and resigning our own too much? Maybe. But these guys have been pretty decent at self scouting. I think now its crystal clear we need resources devoted to WR. He thought he could get by with a bandaid and devote resources elsewhere this year. He even believed it so strongly he stuck his neck out uncharacteristicly. I was worried hed double down, but they've been actively trying to do what they can to get stronger while still giving themselves the ability to be able to have a future.
Now. There is just a fundamental difference in wanting to sell the farm for one year to win it all, or try to set yourself up to be competitive and go every year. You either fall on one side of that coin or the other and both have arguments for and against. This GM doesnt seem to think its worth a sell out bc nothing is guaranteed. I think that as well, but acknowledge either side can be right - its just whatever your fundamental beliefs are.
Regardless, this is sssooo far away from my original point that people have just gotten so spoiled they just B word to B word. Every player signing there are people who run to make light of age, or former affiliations. Even after the KC game this yr there were complaints and thats the most dominant of a win we've ever had in game.
Id venture to guess if McB were cut loose today both would have jobs in quick order. We have it good. We haven't won it all yet, but our chances with these 2 seem better than the unknown. Hell, Id love an awesome offensive minded coach to pair w Allen. But there is more to it than that and more to it than we see or think about. Messages get stale, but I dont think McDs has as of yet. Of course that can change but for now, let's just see where this season takes us.
