I dunno guys, this deal seems like Jason Peters 2.0...

Peters wasn't a bubble player.  They traded him because he was rightly disgruntled when they signed scrubs for more money than they were willing to pay him.  That sickened me the way the Bill's with Marv Levy as GM handled that.

I liked Teller, but he wasn't a stand out player.

Promo, all the transfers as a result of Tyree turning pro when he was absolutely, positively not ready to turn pro wrecked what would have been an ok UB team.

It is on him and he is making it ever more apparent by literally being the worst qb in the preseason.

7-6 and reasonable to good numbers would have got him drafted.

I'm a UB alum and fan.  Their team last year was good, but you could see Tyree was not pro ready.  He listened to the wrong people.  When I saw Osborne transfer to Miami, it really ticked me off.

Most centers can long snap, though it takes a specialist to be reliably good at it.  As a practical matter, you also want your LS to be a guy that can cover punts too.

I agree that Yeldon is probably the better RB, but whoever they keep is no better than their RB4, which means the guy better be able to play STs.

In 4 pro seasons, Yeldon has never played a single snap on STs, whereas Murphy played 79 ST snaps in 11 games in 2018 alone.

You may be right about the Special Teams.  I found it interesting this preseason that the Bills have been experimenting with players on STs more than usual.  I really think they are realizing they have players that they'd like to keep, but who haven't played STs in the past.  Of course, that may be why we stunk on STs in Detroit.  :(

First off, Mahomes was an accurate QB in college.  It’s a big reason I wanted him.  Quite frankly, I didn’t want Allen because he wasn’t.

I am not making a comparison of what Mahomes would have accomplished yet here versus what he has in KC.  Nor am I doing that with Allen.  What I am saying is that the Bills passed on a superior prospect to take a lesser one a year later.  That’s independent of what other players were on the team.

I stand corrected on the accuracy issue, but he was inconsistent in his decision making and lack of discipline was evident.

As to your second point...the jury is still out.

That’s fair and makes a lot of sense. I guess my whole point is more that sometimes draft get labeled as a “better qb class” and it can be completely wrong. It’s happened a bunch of times in the draft.  But your point makes a lot of sense.  I was someone who really liked Mahomes and Watson so it’s been really hard watching how good they have been.

I didn't follow Mahomes that much, but really liked Watson.  Watching him this preseason has been brutal though.  He really hangs onto the ball much too long.  With the Texans Oline, he's going to get himself injured again.

I also agree with the takes regarding the Bills...particularly McD...not being in a position to draft a QB in 2017.  He was just learning about the team they had...and was in no position to decide on a future QB.  Whaley was on his way out and Beane on his way in.  So...I cannot classify not drafting Mahomes or Watson for that matter as a blunder, but rather lousy timing.
