I remember fighting with posters on the old ESPN forums how the Bills are making a major mistake not even looking at Brees. But, But we have Losman and Brees is a hit away from a career ending injury. Still bugs the hell outta me to the day.

I actually thought the Chargers were foolish letting him walk.   I thought it was brilliant for them to draft LT and Brees in back to back rounds.

And another solid draft pick the Bills let walk.  We have Haushka now so I feel better.

Ten picks and a lot of $$ is great, but can Beane and McD realize that it’s better to draft 10 players with those picks instead of 5 ? Good players are found all over the draft and the Bills need a lot more good players. The current regime’s penchant for paying multiple draft picks for one player isn’t a good strategy.

I agree with you to a point.  With some players...those that can change the complexion of one side of the ball...QB or MLB...that are coveted by the teams picking ahead of you, it is necessary to move up and spend the picks.  (e.g. Allen and Edmunds)  That's why it was imperative for Buffalo to acquire the additional draft capital for this year's draft.  I hear where you're coming from, though, and by and large don't think it should be done for players where there is a lot of draft depth (e.g. Sammy Watkins).

If a young QB believes winning the game is all on his shoulders, and if the team is pass-heavy behind a ticky-tack OL, that young QB will inevitably press and make bad passing decisions.  Allen needs to know that if he throws the ball away because he's under pressure or he doesn't understand what he sees, the rest of the team's got his back.

That was Allen's life at Wyoming.  He had no supporting cast and had to win ball games any way HE could.  Part of his development is to unlearn that.  Keep the drive.  Keep the strong will to win.  Keep the heart.  Lose that it's all on you.

Joe B is the one who has pushed this question and narrative.  He posted it in his column and talked about it in his newscast last night.  You can see how Josh is learning and developing game to game.  It's one lesson at a time (get the ball out quicker, throw it away if there's nothing there, etc)...but it is development.

Yeah whaley wanted hue and he was gonna keep shwartz ...russ and pegulas overruled..whaley and pegulas also wanted watson or mahomes..overruled by mcdermott

Well even though not drafting  Watson or Mahomes looks like an epic failure, at least the Pegulas learned to not meddle and let the guys they hired to run the team make the decisions.  There's a traditional hierarchy here now.

I think its pretty obvious that whaley did not have the power to take the organization in the direction he wanted..with russ brandons constant meddling in areas he had no buisness being in ..brandon is the one who said " dont let rex leave the building " and basically sold ryan to the pegulas. Brandon for sure had a huge role in the watkins trade up..he was always about making moves that he felt sold tickets. Nonetheless whaley found alot of talent while he was here..he just missed on the most vital position his track record is much better than beanes so far.

Russ really screwed things up.  Wasn't it rumored that Whaley wanted Hue Jackson as HC?  We would have kept Schwartz at DC.  Instead we hired Rex, Schwartz left...and it was all downhill from there.

Erie is in Buffalo's market but WSEE and Fox66 can request a change to over to the Steelers or Browns on a weekly basis.

They can, but they rarely if ever got it, at least in the 28 years I was there.  It especially bothered a lot of fans when they requested viewing of the Steelers vs Browns games, since that was 90% of the viewer fan base.   I left in 2014 so I don't know if things have changed much.  The NFL made some changes to blackout rules in the past few years, so maybe they softened the viewing contracts as well...although I believe, since they were in Buffalo's market, the Bills would have to agree.

Erie is the crossroads between 3 NFL markets, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo. So while they get a lot of Bills games, it's not guaranteed.

I know, but despite the fan base being largely Steelers oriented, Erie is officially in Buffalo' s market.  If the Bills were on the road, there games were carried.   Steelers fans hated the contractual obligation of the local network affiliate to carry the Bills games.  I of course loved it, being a Bills fan.

The NFL app let's you watch any national game or games on your local channels. But in Ellicottville, would you be considered to be local to Buffalo or Erie, PA?

I lived in Erie for 28 years. Because of the proximity of the stadium Erie was considered part of the Buffalo Market.  As I recall though, home games were frequently not broadcast there.  Away games were carried...much to the chagrin of Steeler fans.
