    So?

Are you going for some kind of "gotcha?"  I view the draft the same every year.   I know next to nothing.  I look at a player, and if he has good attributes, I hope for the best.

I try not to be disparaging, but I think they guys who come on here and post "bust" or whatever right away are total clowns.  They read a few mocks, watch some youtube, and think they know as much as guys who breathe this stuff every day, all day, 365 days a year.

You think Beane & the scouts missed the fact that he doesn't get "separation?"  They obviously like some of his other skills much more.

Maybe. I just see more of what they already have.  I'm not saying he's a bust but I don't see this guy being more than a 2 at best. This team needed a Diggs replacement, that true number 1. Instead they have a bunch of 2 and 3s.

So, we have the usual "I've watched 10 minutes of youtube on this guy!  He'll be a bust" stuff.

Fans are SO predictable on draft day.  None of you know anything - sorry.

None of you with rose colored glasses on don't know anything either. His best asset is he can catch. Big deal. He can't separate and lacks speed.

It's also REALITY.  How can you possibly look at what has transpired between the Bills and the Chiefs going back to the 2017 draft and not feel the same?

You have to trust the process. 🙄. Beane knows how to pick WR.

you may be right....but i just provided a link from NYS dept of State saying the opposite. A license is not needed for selling tickets originally bought for personal use.

what proof do have, please provide a link.....do you know any sabre STH who is an average joe who was targeted by the sabres  ?

I'm sure it's just the start.

    REGULAR JOES vs BROKERS ?

for me, there is a big difference between a STH who has 2,4,6,8, 10 tickets originally bought for personal use vs a broker who might be re-selling hundreds.

they should be treated differently when it comes to this NY STATE BROKERS LICENCE requirement the Sabres have recently enacted on some of their STH's.

the more i dig into this issue, the more i think that may already be the case ??

A license is not needed for selling tickets originally bought for personal use.

https://nyc-business.nyc.gov/nycbusiness/description/ticket-reseller-license#:~:text=Businesses or people that resell tickets need a,for selling tickets originally bought for personal use.

A Ticket Reseller is any person, firm or corporation who resells or engages in the business of reselling any tickets to a place of entertainment or who operates an internet website or any other electronic service that provides a mechanism for two or more parties to participate in a resale transaction or that facilitates resale transactions by the means of an auction, or who owns, conducts or maintains any office, branch office, bureau, agency or sub-agency for such business. It is the responsibility of licensees to understand the Ticket Reseller License Law.

    https://dos.ny.gov/ticket-reseller

Many of you are missing what the law intends to do. It's to crack down on average joes who are STH who sell most their tickets. Nothing to do with profit or keeping it under $5000.

If Terry is going after Sabres STH what makes you think he won't do it after the PSLs are sold.

The Sabres blaming the state is hilarious. If that was the case I'd imagine at least the Bills, Bandits, Knicks, Yankees, Mets, etc etc etc would have similar rules... but none do - just the Sabres.

Don't worry, though, Terry will build another well if he needs some extra money.

    https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/buffalo-sabres/latest-news/state-reseller-law-hindering-sabres-season-ticket-holders

The Sabres sent an e-mail to fans who comprise less than 1% of their season ticket base that “in light of the recent ticket reseller laws” passed by the NY state legislature in 2022, those who sell a high percentage of their games on the secondary market would have to purchase a license from the state to be able to purchase their season tickets.

    It is from NY state.

  7. 37 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said:

The point being, that the Bills partners have already paid that fee. A brokerage like Ace (for example) owns hundreds of season tickets throughout the state of NY. These are professional organizations with full time staffs.

The Sabres had/have some real broker partners like that. They also have a bunch of people that buy season tickets knowing that they can sell a bunch to cover their cost. They sell the Leafs, Habs and 15-20 more games to cover the entire cost. That’s what they’re trying to stop. It’s the amateurs trying to make a business out of it.

You don't think the Bills have amateurs doing the same?  I've some post how they are out of town season ticket holders and go to 1-2 games a season and sell the rest. You don't think they will crack down on them either?

  8. 51 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said:

My bad, didn’t see that. I assumed that it was the Sabres.

Either way, NY isn’t going to shut down the Bills from collecting every dime possible for the new stadium that they are paying hundreds of millions for. They want this to go smoothly. The Bills broker partners are all licensed brokers. They aren’t partnering with guys that have signs that say, “who needs tickets” on one side and “I got tickets” on the other. It’s people like Ace Tickets out of Boston that they are partnering with.

    That’s a hilarious call.

Its not about cracking down on brokers. It's cracking down a ticket holders who sell the majority of their tickets.  Those who do will have to pay a $5000 fee to NY state to continue to sell most of your tickets.

It’s one of the “dirty little secrets.” Teams have as many, or as few, broker seats as they want. My guess on the Sabres “crackdown” is that they just CAN’T continue to have that many Leaf fans in the building. That last game was embarrassing. You live with 50/50 in those situations but that game was like 80/20 for the visitors. It was too much.

This is a total guess but maybe 2k-5k broker seats in the new stadium. They’ll probably limit it to 20 or so partners so that they can control it.

Again it wasn't the Sabres who decided this. It came from NY state. You can't tell me that a government official saw the amount of Leaf fans in the stands and decided "We have to do something about that"

  10. 22 minutes ago, papazoid said:

whoever is responsible for the crackdown......it's highly likely it will eventually effect bills STH's

Why does many keep thinking they won't do crack down on them too?  Other teams have done it. The Giants did it a few years ago as well as the Broncos.

    makes perfect sense

except the sabres seem to be in another down year.....and yet they are purging resellers

Buffalo Sabres Crack Down on Ticket Resales with License Requirement, Fans in Uproar Over New Season Shakeup

    https://fanrecap.com/buffalo-sabres-crack-down-on-ticket-resales-with-license-requirement-fans-in-uproar-over-new-season-shakeup/

That crack down came from NY state. It wasn't up to the Sabres. I have a feeling it's just the beginning. I'm sure they will implement it for all NY teams.

These multifaceted discussions are challenging in a chat room format. I’ve never said this is good or bad for the ‘billionaire’ and I’m definitely not anti-billionaire. My point has always been that is a terribly deceptive form of sales. There are lots of ways to sell products and services. This particular one is famous for being less than open about the true costs. I’m not a big fan of the tactic….and I don’t think it’s necessary to sell tickets for a historically beloved football team to a historically loyal fan base.

I think they had to go this route. If they released all the different prices they would have a harder time selling the higher priced ones.

Funny...Elway got better once he was in the WCO amd Shanahan. He didn't get worse.

It fascinates me that fans are bitching about the offseason habits of, at worst, a top 3 QB in the NFL.

Who BTW, led the NFL in total touchdowns despite having a total assclown for an OC the 1st half of the season along with a primadona #2 WR being a douche  while getting paid like a #1.

Nobody is saying he isn't a top 3 QB. What they are saying is Allen is not a Brady or Mahomes or Stroud that spends a lot of time watching film. Nothing wrong with that. He relies a lot on his physical skills.

    It's a fiendishly complicated question.

Perhaps we should ask Von Miller, Tre White, Matt Milano, Micah Hyde, Terrel Bernard, Christian Benford and Daquan Jones if they have any thoughts on the matter.

Not really that complicated. None of those guys are playmakers. They are great as a group but none are on the level of a Jones in KC or Snead.

So youre telling me Sammy was too mentally weak then, meaning he was always doomed.  He went on to play with 4 of the best coaching staffs in the NFL, 2 first Ballot HOFers, 3 multiple MVP winning QBs, and one of the best offense minds in football.  Yet you want to pretend because his start in Buffalo didn’t go perfect he was ruined forever?  Lol

But forget about Sammy.  Name one team in NFL history that won a Super Bowl from an expensive trade up (multiple premium picks) for a WR.

In the last 20 years, only 2 SB winning teams had a WR1 taken in the first 20 picks…Mike Evans (taken after Sammy) and 18 years go Marvin Harrison.

You want a cautionary tale, how about it’s worked 0% of the time in NFL history.  And that includes trading a bunch of picks for a proven one, not just rookies.

This is maybe the best WR draft in NFL history too.

That's another reason for the Bills not to blow all their picks to move up for a WR.

Why move up when you have Shakir who's going to be the best WR for the Bills. 🙄

  16. 2 minutes ago, Dr. Who said:

If Diggs had not become utterly toxic in the locker room, they wouldn't have traded him. It's surmise, because they aren't explicitly declaring what the problems were, but Beane's actions give credence to that opinion. Whether he was injured or not, the second half of last year and the post-season is not much to miss. If he had indeed become that kind of distraction and emotional sink, I don't think he'll be all that missed.

"The Great White hope" is rather repulsive rhetoric. Kincaid, spell his name correctly, maybe, flashed enough in his rookie year to be a genuine source of optimism. It's not manufactured, and he can be a game changer. He's not a field stretcher, but he has pretty good range for a big slot. He also has a feel for the open spaces.

Curtis Samuel is a swiss-army knife type. To simply peg him as a redundant slot is not quite accurate. In general, your attempt to paint a worst-case-scenario is somewhat tendentious. They will add a RB2 and at least one and probably 2 WR. If they go up and get one of the top 3, that is not a "lucky to have WR2" situation.

Again it's still a bunch of JAGs on offense. It works on the regular season but you need that elite talent to win when it matters.

It’s not my money, nor is it yours. As we have seen with this offseason, many things can be done. We all thought we would buried by the cap this offseason. That didn’t happen. Next, we thought Diggs could never be traded. It happened. Acquiring Auyik is likely possible. You would need to extend and restructure the contract to get the breathing room for this year and backload it to next year.

It’s just that if we draft a bust, we’ll be in trouble. Our FO has no track record for identifying great WRs. Allen is in his prime and want something more definitive.

It's not possible with the cap space they have left. Face it whoever they draft at WR is going to be it.

It depends who we replace the safeties with... And what we do at wide receiver

But you're talking about a team that has had world class point differentials the last few years

That points to talent... Which we did lose a lot

But now it's how you replace it

They are great regular season team but that has yet to translate to playoffs. They a great group of players but outside of Allen, they don't have big time playmakers on either side of the ball.

They don't have that standout WR like the Bengals have, they don't have that D lineman or TE that KC has. It's a collection of above average players but lacks playmakers.

They went 4-3 beating a Steelers team that can't score ... A depleted browns team , and a bad colts team and a 7-10 Vikings teams

I think Mitch trubisky on the bills could beat three of those teams at least

You keep talking about talent around the quarterback but the bills were ranked as a top five talented team the last 2 years... Nobody had the bills outside of the top five overall talent

Let's not act like the Bills were world beaters on their streak either.  I'm not saying they have no talent but as was posted in another thread, they lack elite talent. As group they are good but don't have that standout WR, or defensive players. You can't tell me the Bills WR group is better than the Bengals.
