  1. Allen really didn't have to put his body on the line much last season. Other than his early-season hijinks leading to the broken hand and Amari Cooper missing the new player orientation about whether or not you let Allen involve himself in backyard football pitch backs ("NO"), there were very few of those moments. He does it anyway sometimes, because that's what makes him happy, but it wasn't necessary last season.
  2. This, but unironically. Y'all gotta get over yourselves.
  3. In a bizarro world where the Bills don't have Allen but have a top 10-15 QB instead, they're likely still division favorites and certainly perennial wildcard contenders.
  4. Thank you for this! Posters should be requires to read this and pass a quiz on it prior to posting in threads about practice squad signings.
  5. My takeaway from a lot of posts on this forum in the last few days is that many fans here do not understand how practice squad rules have changed. This is a fantastic PS signing that gives the Bills all of the benefits of Poyer's experience without having to invest a roster spot or any real resources to have him around. And if three safeties go down we have a body that can hold down the fort for a couple of weeks.
  6. Interesting. Plays Safety, too. VERY curious who ends up getting the boot, and from what position group.
  7. It allowed him to get into the building and start working out at team facilities etc. prior to cut-down day. Basically just got a two-day head start on season prep for him.
  8. I mean if he did, based on what I've seen of Ciarlo's girlfriend that bitterness may be warranted. Seriously though it's WILD how aggressive folks get towards these players.
  9. This is way too early to say on Bishop. He's had a couple of injuries and one bad play in preseason when matched up 1v1 with a good slot corner. I think he's looked solid and you can see the athleticism and tools the Bills were looking for when they drafted him, if he can keep reducing his mental errors he has all the talent to be a quality starting safety. Y'all gotta learn to give players more time. Bernard going into year 2 was a somewhat similar story, and he ended up being very good that year.
  10. Thin in what way? Genuine question, we seem to have the appropriate number of bodies with a mix of veteran/early-career/developmental players. Our backups aren't world-beaters, but backups rarely are.
  11. Yes-- he'll be on the Practice Squad. He was signed to allow him to start working out etc. at the team facilities prior to creation of the Practice Squad post-cuts.

  13. Yeah, can't return until Week 5.
  14. Genuinely, that's a good-looking roster. Once our CBs are back to a reasonably healthy state I don't know that we have a true hole unless Bishop full-blown crashes and burns. Can't wait for Week 1!
  15. Brandon Beane has the chance to do the funniest thing
  16. Just fell to my knees in a Wegmans
  17. Uh, yes? He's a second-year safety that would be rostered on the vast majority of teams in the league.
  18. Man, are you sure some of y'all are actually fans of this team? It's one thing to discuss things that make the matchup tough and reasons why we could lose, but acting as though we're a drought-era team that can't hang with the mighty Ravens and not one of the best teams in football year after year is WILD.
  19. Friendly reminder that the Bills are a very good team that other top teams do not like going up against. We usually win against them in the regular seaaon.
  20. He played snaps that counted last season. He was fine. Did he piss in your Cheerios or something?
  21. Where does this stuff come from with you folks? Andreessen is a very good athlete, and made a ton of fast physical plays last preseason. His main sin so far is not dropping back deep enough in his zones, which has very little to do with athleticism and very much to do with comfort and experience. If you're gonna trash talk our own players, at least do so with some kind of basis in reality.
  22. Yeah, the three big returns all involved Shenault failing his assignment in some way iirc.
  23. No, but when healthy, he's extremely good. His season-long health is a question mark, but his in-game impact for Week 1 shouldn't be in doubt here.
  24. Special would be overstating it. Lacks the physical ability to be special. Knows how to play football, though.
  25. I actually agree about Dane looking rough, with the amount of experience he has in the league you would hope for a better showing from him against edge-of-roster or non-roster talent. He looked like he belonged and made a couple of "NFL" plays, which is... NOT quite what you want from a dude a couple injuries away from a start when he's up against well-below-starter talent.
