Hurts should be a backup on a good team. Disagree with the Mayfield stuff above though, I think he's mediocre at best.

It's kind of a non-starter debate anyway. The Steelers offense is awful, I don't think there's any shot whatsoever they knock off the Chiefs.

Yes. Absolutely incredible. The players execution starting with 17 and the playcalling was unlike anything I've ever seen from watching the Bills for my entire lifetime.

Yikes on Ticketmaster it does look like a ton of tickets are available. Not good.

Is there a possibility we don’t sell out? That would be so embarrassing.
-
Wow if I still lived in Buffalo I'd be all over that! It's the playoffs, vs the Pats!
When did our fans get so weak? All the complaining about wanting a dome and now we may not sell out a home playoff game?

The Daboll/Trubisky pairing thing here is so strange to me. Trubisky is not a good QB. Maybe a half-decent backup, we don’t really know, but why would anyone want to go with him as a starter as a new head coach of a team?

All you #######s wanting McD fired should not be celebrating this victory or the division title. You should go cry in your basement that someone still achieved something regardless of what your armchair coaching thought.
just my opinion, but F all you all that wants him fired. I just want to enjoy watching this team be successful
Note: I am posting this here so more people see it.
I find it interesting that it seems to trigger you so much that not everyone is a fan of his. What's wrong with people sharing their opinions of him? Everyone here wants the same thing, for the Bills to be as good as possible. I'd say the same if someone had posted things like "F everyone who wants to see him stay" after the AFC title game last year when he kicked on multiple 4th and shorts.
Nobody's stopping you from enjoying this team and he's probably going to be the coach for a while here. Many of us are just hoping he improves in the in-game aspects of the job.

McDermott is clearly a good coach. I think the frustration with him is that he could be a great coach. Even more frustrating is that the things he needs to improve to become a great coach are easy and obvious. He has the hard parts of being a great coach down: motivating and teaching players, xs and os, hiring competent people to surround himself with.
Some of his in-game decisions are so bad it's impossible to defend. Wasting timeouts left and right including the one where he called a timeout to decide if he should challenge. All the 4th downs in the Tampa game were botched. Punting late in OT in the snow game when a tie would have knocked us out of the playoffs, called a timeout erasing Josh's 4th and 1 conversion today, etc etc. All of these things are incredibly stupid, but can be corrected. It reminds me of the term 'you can't teach speed' You can teach an otherwise good coach that it's smart to go for certain 4th downs but it's much harder to make someone who already knows that into a great coach. It seems like he has to be forced to be aggressive, last year before the AFCCG he seemed to have improved, but regressed in that game and has carried over to this season with the exception of a few games.
Another frustrating aspect is that he seems to be more aggressive against bad teams, and more conservative against good teams. Most fans think it should be the other way around especially if the other teams strength is offense.
Really well put. I remember that snow game, he was the head coach of the team and didn't know a tie would have knocked us out of the playoffs. So hard to fathom.
But yeah the timeout usage and game management have been issues for all 5 years here. I agree he's a good teacher of the game and has the organizational skills. The game in NE was one of the first games we've seen where he was aggressive against a top team. The way he shrank in the spotlight last year in the AFC title game was tough to watch. Hopefully he won't again this year.

Not sure I want the Pats again. It felt like we dominated them in that NE game but we really still needed a couple big plays at the end to work out. They have better coaching and that's scary in the playoffs.

Can't burn timeouts like this in the 2nd half vs good teams in the playoffs. It just can't happen.

Can we get McKenzie involved, please?
That's also a strange thing, the dude can play, why do we just forget about him for long periods of time?

Well if we're looking for a bright side...the offense went into the playoffs with a lot of momentum last year and didn't really look great once we got there. Maybe it'll be the opposite this year?

I think something spooked him there and he lost confidence in the sneak. That definitely was a wasted timeout looking back at it but a good amount of the time McD is getting criticized for doing the right thing in these gameday threads
I would disagree about the criticism, I think he struggles a lot with those decisions.
The timeout management though is a problem almost every single week, and it's been going on for years. It's cost us big at times too in close games. -
That was a brutal first half from McD.
I think he's a good teacher of the game but with the decision-making on 4th downs and another week of brutal timeout usage...I have no idea how anyone can make the argument that he's a good in-game manager.

lol. No the Chiefs were better.
Oh I agree, I didn't mean we would have won the game if not for the way he managed the game, but I think he cost us a better opportunity with those kicks on multiple 4th and shorts. He coached scared.

McD's gonna cost us again coaching like this, just like in the AFC title game last year

Yeah, let's demonize him for the rest of his life because of one mistake.
Did you really just say that??? That “one mistake” could have ruined that woman’s life for all we know. Do you have any idea how traumatic rape can be?
Sometimes people just astound me.

But Stars worth his pay even if he just stands there and takes up space. Or at least that’s what I’ve been told for the past few years.

I don’t think that’s a thing

I hope kicking that FG on 4th and 1 from the Dallas 20 comes back to bite Shanahan.
Conservative, scared football shouldn’t be rewarded.
