Detroit moving all over why are we not with all these damn 5s
Yes. You do have to wonder why not when you have all those 5's....

Guys, you gotta get off the WRs jocks, we're fine.
Fine for what though? "Fine" has not won us a championship.

We've also seen the movie where we win the division and playoff games over and over
We're a .500 team in the playoffs with an elite QB...that's not a good thing. We are not doing this right. We have been a playoff underachiever.

So like...we didn't stockpile all these picks to make any kind of move up?

For those of you that aren’t thrilled about the Keon Coleman pick…remember one thing. Word came out that he was the last receiver left on Allen’s wish list. Thats a big deal. Why would Beane not want to consult the face of his franchise when trying to get him more weapons?
This tells me that Allen’s wish list included Harrison, Nabers, Odunze, Coleman, and probably Thomas. Think of it this way…if worthy, pearsall, or legette were on that list, they would have taken them at 28, or at most 32 for legette. I’m sure Beane would have liked to have traded down another time, but he could have risked losing Coleman.
I wasn’t overly thrilled with Coleman being the guy, but while he might lack separation on tape, and a good 40 time, he also had amazing splits in the 40 and other drills. The drills are where the football comes out in these guys…you know, catching the ball. Haha. Anyways…when you look at the bigger picture with Coleman, it’s not a bad pick at all. The guy is really athletic, has great hands and body control…and most of all…Allen wanted him.
Keon could end up being a really good player for all I know....but I really hope this reason isn't why we drafted him. And I love #17. But this is a guy that also wanted Ken Dorsey to be the OC.
But that's not a slight. He's not a talent evaluator. Michael Jordan was the GOAT of the NBA but an incredibly awful GM. They are completely different jobs. Could someone be really good at both? Sure. But there is a learning curve for it, one that Beane and other evaluators have obviously gone through.
Asking for his opinion? Sure. But I hope the pick was made based on people who spent countless hours studying these guys.

You mean Fraziers defense since McD's first year running the defense didn't do that last year.
No, this is classic McD apologist propaganda.
It's McD's team, and his proficiency is defense. Frazier was a coordinator under McD's overall defensive philosophy. If he didn't like what Frazier was doing at any point during that time, he could have worked with him to make changes or fired him. It is the most nonsensical thing to say that if Frazier was such a big problem, that somehow McD is blameless when he held all the power to make any change he wanted and kept him for years. And yes, the D did do it again last year..."but injuries".
Again, given McD's history of postseason failures and chokejobs...we need to give Allen enough to put up almost a perfect game, because that's what we've seen is needed to beat the Chiefs with McD holding us back. Allen was GREAT in 2 of those games and we still lost. It's just not enough, that is again the reality of the burden of having McD here.

You do realize that we are the 2nd highest scoring team in the NFL over the past 4 seasons, our QB is a perennial MVP candidate and averages 5100 yards and 44 TD's over that span right?
People act like Allen has had no help at all. Beane traded up for Kincaid last year, we have a young WR in Shakir who just led the NFL in efficiency, catch rate, and yards per target who plays like a mini Deebo, we have a duel threat RB, and signed a quality veteran in Samuel. Now we just added top prospect in the draft at WR too. Plus we still have Knox and him combined with Kincaid gives us one of the best TE rooms in the NFL.
This notion Allen has no weapons is just a gross exaggeration.
Im telling you now...Allen very well could have his best season of his career this season. Shakir and Coleman bring some much needed toughness to the offense. Where was Diggs when the season got late and games got more physical? Allens INT rate was double throwing to Diggs and Davis than it was throwing to everyone else.
Allen is going to spread the ball around and now has a guy who can go up and get balls too, which we sorely needed. We went from drop city to a team made up of guys with great hands and intelligence.
Because Josh is a great, generational QB. And for all of those numbers you just gave...what have we won? Here's a dose of reality...when the decision keeps being made to bring McDermott back...we KNOW we're going to have to score 30-40+ points in big playoff games to offset the massive liability that he and his defense is here. We know McDermott's D is going to give up big points in big games because that's what he does. We know he's going to make poor decisions on top of that. All of that is something #17 has to overcome. Even when he has and gave McD a lead with 13 seconds left...that wasn't enough for him either.
So yes, we do need more weapons for him to be able to do that when it matters most. He has to do more than Mahomes or any other QB to overcome McDermott. This is our reality, it's been proven over and over and over again.
When you take that into account...Samuel, Coleman, Shakir, Kincaid, and Knox is not enough unless you're just content with playoffs and losing to KC, which it seems like an inordinate amount of fans are.

Let me guess "I dont know his name, he sucks just like Bernard, Taron, Shakir, Milano, and all suck and were the wrong picks of people I didn't know"
Everyone throwing a tantrum over the guy every team in the NFL has passed on 3 times now in Franklin. And its only the Bills though making the mistake of not taking future HOF WR Troy Franklin lol
Nope, I’ve never said this dude sucks. And I’m not a Franklin guy.
I do think once again that we are falling short of giving #17 the weapons he needs and don’t understand the benefit of the doubt that Beane and McD are getting from some of you on it while McD and the high amount of resources he’s gotten for his defenses have let us down literally every single postseason and every single big moment.

As opposed to "it wasn't that guy everyone has been shouting for, therefore it must be a bust!"
I think that's equally as bad a take. This dude could be solid.
The frustration is more so that we're headed for yet another season of underwhelming weapons for Josh to throw to. This has been going on for years. Yes, I know the offseason isn't over yet but people have also been saying that for years and then it's still not fixed. I'm not sure how Beane/McD get the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Let me guess, "Great pick! Wow, Beane's killing it! Can't believe this guy was still here!"

I'm absolutely fine with the selection.
Now address other positions and add another WR in the 3rd or 4th
P.S. we will still have future drafts and FA to supplement the WR corps over the next few years
What about this upcoming season though? We are severely lacking playmakers. -
This guy is a project even if he turns out to be good down the line. The WR room even if you like this pick for this upcoming season is awful. We need a concerning amount of help still.

Couldn’t we have traded down to take this dude?

Maybe, just maybe, the plan is to hang McD out to dry while clearing cap space.
That way, they can Can his arse late/ after the season and go into next year ready to fill the coffers for a “Not Schottenheimer 2.0”
He also gets to blame the mediocre season on McD and get some of his ball boys on here to see the light.
Oh, a man can dream🤔
If it meant the rest of Josh's career here without McD, I would punt a year in exchange for that with zero hesitation

Hard to argue the Bills are not well behind all the teams below in TE/WR core.
Bills: Kincaid, Samuel, Shakir
BAL: Andrews, Flowers, Bateman
CIN: Gesicki, Chase, Higgins
CLE: Njoku, Cooper, Moore, Jeudy
HOU: Schultz, Diggs, Dell, Collins/Brown/Woods
JAC: Engram, Kirk, Davis, Thomas Jr.
KC: Kelce, Rice, Brown, Worthy
MIA: Smith, Hill, Waddle
NYJ: Conklin, Wilson, Williams
This is what people need to look at. Adding a 2nd round WR to this still puts us well behind other good teams.

Here is another:
I really like Worthy as a prospect but for now I will choose to focus on these highlights lol
I'm not gonna lie, I was absolutely ready to troll-post these if we took him at 28 and say he's going to fit right in here

All the guys who argued to sell the ranch for one of the top 3 WRs must be like ready to jump off a cliff today. Have a cup of tea and chill. Hope we end up with Cooper and Coleman. Shorter will bust out this year. Maybe bust isn’t the right word. Should be an exciting year.
I'm sure you can at least understand the skepticism. People here have been banging the drum about getting Josh better weapons for a long time now, and every offseason the front office defenders have said that we have players that will break out and that we have "enough". But it hasn't been, for years now. And we now lost Diggs.

He weighed in at 183lbs at his pro-day. He should be able to get up to 190 and some upper body strength.
The best part of his game that has been analyzed recently is that he has amongst the best release movement off the line. Very Diggesque.
That's at least good to hear. I thought I read stuff from other people here that they thought he was going to have trouble getting off the line in the NFL.

I actually really like Sutton. Not sure if I want to extend him though.
