  1. I can't really blame the coaches. They got to the position they are in based of what they have taught in the past so why wouldn't they stake their career on what they know?

I do put some of the blame on ownership. If you know you have a roster filled with certain types of players then priority should be to find a coaching staff that can work with what you have. They only time you should hire a guy that is the complete opposite of what you had is if you stumble on a guy that you believe can be the man for the next 15 years to lead your team. Maybe we have that in McD...maybe not.

Making wholesale changes for a Chan or Jauron is what set this franchise back. Who really didn't know when they were hired that they were dead man walking upon hire?

  2. That was an awesome read. Thank you.

My only disagreement is that I don't see Beane putting value on a WR to draft him with our first 1st rounder. That pick should be fairly high if we can't work the offense out. I believe that TE will be a priority next off season as well as Clay still has 14 games of injuries to pile up this season.

  3. watkins was never resigning here. at least we got something for him.

he's the girl that was dumping us after homecoming so we danced with the other girl who we could take home.

Watkins would have resigned here...if we offered the best contract. Plain and simple.

The issue is we were never going to offer him the contract that others would overpay him in free agency. We would have lost him for...what at BEST a 3rd round comp pick?

We managed to get a 2nd and a heck of a good player for this defense. Short term it doesn't help us. This is true. Long term it could really pay dividends.

  4. How long before Miller is benched? What about Mills? Cogs had a rough game this last week...let's go with him...

Taylor will only be benched week 16 at the earliest. My guess is he misses time with injury and before he comes back those that wanted him benched are super excited for him after we see Peterman in real games.

  5. The NFL is declining, not only in LA but places like Jacksonville. Time to get rid of some teams. If they move to London, you will see this same effect. In fact, the Raiders are about to be in for wake up call when they move to Las Vegas and the crowds aren't there.

I'm in the minority that actually thinks the Raiders will do well in LV. Tons of visitors every day to that town. I don't think they will be thought of as a Pro Sports team rather than an attraction to see like Blue Man Group or 2 Moes 1 Tiger.

  6. TT is the mediocre QB of a bad offense. No more no less.

-No true #1 WR. We have a good player in Matthews, a rookie and a bunch of castoffs.

    -No speed out wide

-40% of the online is subpar. This gets worse when Glenn is out and our RT becomes LT.

-A QB that is an excellent runner, not so much as passer

-A top notch RB that is being asked to do too much and will likely be on IR at some point.

    -Slow plodding back up RB

Even if Taylor has been bad-and he has been bad-and starting a rookie 5th rounder is not the answer. My guess is that they had "hoped" TJ Yates could stick and go to him if need be...but that didn't work out well either.

If the process was to fix the defense in year 1 and use all those draft picks and free agency next year to fix the offense year 2 then I'm on board with that. But this offense won't find success no matter who the QB is.

  7. TT had the ball in his hands with a chance to win the game. He didn't make any costly turnovers. He did...by definition keep us "in the game".

What he did NOT do was at any point in the game play as if he was trying to WIN the game. Was the game plan to keep it close and hope for the best? If so that's on coaching. What I was waiting for was him to take over the game. They weren't stopping his runs. Remember the Tennessee game a while back? That's the Tyros that gives us a chance to win games like this and not just stay "in the game"

Let's convert him into a WR.

I believe Dennison lacks the vertical speed we need. He'd make a great slot guy though.

This is a young man that will have better days. Can't help but think if the offense was in any kind of a rythem yesterday he catches that pass. Hard to ask a guy (even if his name was Watkins or Boldin) to make that adjustment on that pass in that situation.

  9. He also didn't try and push the ball downfield until the last 2 minutes. He's a low risk low reward QB. He won't turn the ball over but he also won't put up many points either. Bottom line, if the running game isn't carrying this offense we are prpbably going to lose.

Agree with the fact that he didn't push downfield. He had one downfield toss I can think of offhand...down far sideline...good coverage and not well thrown if I recall.

However it's hard to push the ball downfield when blocking is breaking Ng down quickly. In that case I don't think Peterman would have had time either to throw down the field.

  10. it would have been hard to do worse then the guy who actually played so..maybe it's not a terrible idea to try.

At the end of the game TT still had the ball in his hands with a chance to win. Why? Because, while I agree his play during the first 57 minutes was bad...he did not turn the ball over.

A rookie in a game like this? I mean if you get to speculate he would win it's only fair I can speculate at least 1 pick on a bad read and a sack/strip/fumble scenario. Even if Panthers kick 1 FG off those 2 turnovers...game over.
