  2. If there is anyone else here that feels the way I do, speak (or type) now.

I love the Bills. I will never, ever root for any other team. Ever. Period. True story. Scout's honor.

With that said, I can be equally critical of my team as well as enthusiastic when they are not performing to my expectations. If I decide I want the Bills to fail, it's with the hope that they are dismantled and rebuilt with a more positive outcome as a result. I want us to go 19-0 this season but if they are going to go out and lay an egg every weekend, then go stink up the place so that drastic measures are taken to help improve this team. I'm sick of mediocrity: 7-9, 7-9, 7-9,.....

  3. The whole Lawyer Milloy scenario was entirely different. First, he was a well liked/respected starter on the defense. His dismissal was a shock to most of the team which carried over into their game with us. Second, he was cut during the week before our game. What ever game plan the Pats* had couldn't be changed too much with so little time. Third, that Bills team was better than this one. Finally, Buffalo was playing their home opener.

This time, the Pats* are at home. DeVree is not in the same league as Milloy was. There is plenty of time for the Pats* to make changes to the game plan, which is probably not even finished yet anyway. Finally, Belichick won't make the same mistake twice.

Sadly, it will be Buffalo 6, New England 42.

  4. 6-10 is the prediction from Mike and Mike, and I honestly think that is pretty accurate. We as Buffalo fans have to really look back into our history. We were AFL champions in the early years, I'm not sure if that is because Buffalo was a top ten city or not. It seems with the decline of the city in the 70's (which the team stunk) the Bills have been below average. The late 80's and 90's were just lady luck, a perfect storm with a great GM, head coach and no free agency.(those were the days) We were able to breed and keep our best players and they did not leave. Today Buffalo and WNY is struggling to stay afloat. I think the Bills are just taking after the city in which it resides. For all you fans who dislike Ralph, he is correct. We cannot compete in today’s NFL. We are getting passed by and we are not just going to become a ghost town a few years, we are going to lose the Bills unless an owner loves the Bills and is willing to make peanuts in revenue, the Bills are good as gone. So appreciate the losing while it last because it seems that 7-9 and 6-10 will be all we will see for a while. Hopefully Ralph's last ditch effort to insert Tortonto's economy into the bloodlines of the franchise will keep the Bills in WNY.

When is Ralph ever gonna learn. If you put a great product on the field (see 1988-1995 Bills), you could pretty much charge whatever you want for tickets and the fans would pay. People want to see a winner. You've gotta spend money to make money.

  5. I remember a movie called Mr. Baseball (1992) which starred Tom Selleck as an aging MLB player who is traded to a Japanese team to finish his career. Among the many things he learns from the teams' manager is getting back to the basics of the game. There is one scene where the manager keeps pitching golf balls to Selleck during batting practice, which are nearly impossible to hit. After several days of this, Selleck protests that he has had enough and wants to hit baseballs! The manager replies "That's what I want to hear."

My point is I think one of the main problems with this team IS the coaching but not so much for the game planning and in-game adjustments. I feel this team is not being conditioned/toughened up enough, physically & mentally, to be able to execute the plays they run, even if they(the plays) are not superior to their opponents' plays. If you can't outcoach Belichick, at least have your players outplay his. We can do neither.

  6. Makes me think of this

    Monday night, September 14th 2009

After a decent return by McKelvin, 1st and 10, ball on the Bills 26

Trent Edwards break from the huddle

Richard Seymour: "Oh crap fellas THEY HUDDLED - THEY F**KING HUDDLED"

    Ty Warren: "HOLY F**KING SH*T!"

Belicheck, on the sidelines, slams off his headset: "I KNEW IT! I F**KING KNEW IT. DAMN YOU JAURON. DAMN YOU!"

Brady, standing next to Belicheck: : "We are so..."

Randy Moss, next to Brady: "F**ked."

Dick high fives Turk and the Bills proceed to go 3 and out.

It's even funnier after I corrected the spelling.

  7. THE DEFENSE GAVE UP 10 POINTS. THE OFFENSE SCORED ZERO.

FYI - You cannot win if you score ZERO.

The defense is not dominating, but they are not the problem.

Offense is the problem but our D gave up 10 - in the first half. By the fourth quarter, they're usually tired and allowing points by the bunch.

  8. DJ should be ashamed and embarrassed about the state of this team.

The emotionless one ? the one with the monotone voice? the one where the concept of excitement is non-existent?

Embarrassment is a foreign concept to those with no emotion.

DJ's postgame presser sounds just like Belichick's, except for the part where how we won.

  9. Again, I realize there are a ton of plays that could have been made and/or a bunch of mistakes to be avoided, but my point is that not one of them individually could have GUARANTEED A VICTORY. Norwood had a guaranteed victory on his toe and he booted it wide. Was it a long kick, yes. Was it impossible, No. Bottom line for me is that he had a chance to make history with one single play and he, himself blew it. I still have no ill will toward him. I wish him a long and happy life and would shake his hand if I met him. But I will always have some anger toward him.

The problem with your logic is that when a RB or QB or WR mess up a play, they have plenty of opportunities to make it up. A kicker does not. Norwood made a FG and two PATs before the 47 yd miss. And besides, it wasn't his fault anyways. I recorded the game and rewatched it. Frank Reich spotted the ball with the laces at about 2:00 instead of straight ahead (12:00). Norwood's kick didn't slice, it faded to the right.

  10. We should prepare for another 7-9 season. I hope I'm wrong and we make the playoffs, but I have no faith in Jauron as a HC.

    Try 2-14.

    I'm predicting 2-14.

I love the Bills but I don't believe them. Get me Bill Polian & Bill Cowher here and then I'll start to have faith.

  12. If O-line is a critical need for every team and Everette Brown beat Jake Long, then doesn't D-line seem to be the most important part of a team? If you look at most of the past Super Bowl winners, they all had a couple things in common. A good head coach and a great pass rush. Unfortunately, we have neither.
