You mention TE, then you leave out the one TE that would probably be the best fit for what the Bills need in a TE....Darnell Washington!

The guy is a beast as a blocker, and would actually free up Knox to become more of a weapon in the pass game by taking over his blocking responsibilities....not to mention the fact that he would be a big time Red Zone and Goal line threat.

    added him.

    Thanks!

  2. Tight end.

Reality is that Knox is good, but not great. Yes, we paid him. However, we can run 2 tight end sets and these prospects in this draft are too good to pass at 27 if we sit.

I’d love JSN, but he’s not going to be there. I think a lot of offensive lineman and receivers will be there Friday night for us to take. All the mocks I’m looking at seems to think we will be able to choose 1 of 3 below at 27…

    1. Mayer

    2. Kincaid

    3. LaPorta

    4. Washington

It’s no secret on here that I want more weapons and protection for Allen. An elite tight end checks that box, and the thought of Allen being able to feast over the middle with a blue chip prospect like KC does with Kelce and Baltimore with Andrews is too much to pass on.

I’d love to see something like this:

    1. Kincaid

    2. Hyatt

    3. Bergeron

Are you open to tight end at 27? Less than a week away fam.

This kid is nothing like what we’ve been drafting that shows me how much u know about football.

I didn’t like any of those bums we pkd in the past not Oliver not Boogie nor Epenesa

I bet he got top 2rds no way he makes it to end of 3rd

It shows me all you know about football to draft a kid out of northwestern to a position we’ve sunk premium assets into since 2019.

It also shows me you really don’t know much about football when you can’t even recognize we have the most talented qb in the league with Spencer freakin brown protecting him throwing to a mediocre weapons outside of stef Diggs who’s getting double teamed.

If we get to a point next season where our starting base defense is as follows:

    Von-Daquan-Oliver-Rousseau

    Klein-Milano

    T. Johnson

    Elam-White

    Hyde-Poyer

    ....

    I'll take my chances.

I'm perfectly content going into next season with Klein, Bernard, Spector and Dodson battling it out to start next to Milano.  Also factor in Rapp, who I have to believe was signed to play a hybrid LB/S role, and I'm willing to roll the dice on those pieces competing for the one spot on our Defense that doesn't have massive investment (even though there is still a recent Day 2 pick in the mix).

    This.

Give me a big guy at 27 or a playmaker for Josh.

Yes, I agree that could be the case.

But if Allen still has a sieve like line in front of him, and an extremely one dimensional offense, he will still be running for his life against even decent defenses, and forced to play Hero Ball again.

Let 's finally do the right thing--and start building a good offensive line, the base of any good offense.

To me now, a  good receiver is MUCH less important than this, building the foundation of a championship team.

I can’t argue this one bit.

    Couldn’t agree more.

I would love JSN, but my next “guy” I want is a big, strong, monster, who can protect our star QB.

    Spencer Brown? He isn’t it.

Defense is not irrelevant.  That’s just stupid.

we scored 10 points vs Cinci-  was their D irrelevant?

the chiefs held the jags and Cinci to 20 points in the playoffs.

Defense matters-  but having stars at every defensive position isn’t necessary to have a great D.  A great scheme and play calling can make up for some lack of star power.

I pray we draft O with our first pick along with either our 2nd or 3rd pick.

but saying defense is irrelevant is just about the most ignorant thing I’ve read in awhile.  And that’s saying a lot for as much as I read this board.

    SB losers scored:

    2019- 3

    2020- 20

    2021- 9

    2022- 20

Irrelevant in the sense we should be striving to hold teams under 20 ppg.

I should’ve said, If it came down to taking a player with the goal of bettering defense or improving offense, you go offense right now with this team.

Line stinks, one weapon in Diggs, and everybody else is just a guy.

Trade up for JSN or take Addison if he falls. If neither are available, get a big person to play RT because Spencer brown sure as heck can’t.

  7. Very simple for me.

If they Draft a defensive guy at 27, my TV is going to be busted.

weapons and protection for 17. All picks. Let’s win games 41-38. Just score.

Defense is irrelevant now in the league. Hold a team under 30 with a QB like Allen and you are going to win games.

This year’s draft it reputed to be weak in general.  The Bills, like every other team, have holes to fill but impact at 27 seems unlikely  in 2023.  There truly is only one choice to gain real value if he falls to 27:

    Hendon Hooker.

QBs have value 10x any other position.  Will the value we get from Hooker arrive in 2023?  Maybe, maybe not.

The top option would be to not actually select Hooker but trade the pick to move down a little and get additional picks in 2024 from which we might derive value.

Next choice is to play a game of chicken with teams that think they can trade up in the 28-31 range and get him.  Remember Miami cheated so only 31 first rounders.  If they won’t trade with us, simply draft Hooker and hold him hostage for a few hours or up to a year.

The least likely but still realistic option is to draft Hooker and entertain the possibility of developing him and getting a King’s ransom for Allen in 2-3 years.  I don’t love this as I am a big fan of Josh, but it’s a business.

If Hooker is there at 27 our pick simply has to involve him via trade, extortion or true selection.  There is no way to get that amount of value from anyone else.  Crappy receivers, decent receivers that may still be there in the 2nd, running back, OL who may end up being matched by another guy in the 3rd?  Absolutely no way.  GAIN value for the team.

If Hooker is gone, which he probably will be, then we can be pedestrian.  If not, be bold.

Those teams have to show they can beat us

Our current rivals are Kansas City and Cincinnati

KC and Cincy are ahead of us. It was apparent in the beatdown they laid on us at home.

We did indeed beat KC, but we had Miller. They got better throughout the year. Second half of GB on, we regressed badly.

Im not bullish on the Bills next year but maybe they prove me wrong. I can only hope.

    And that's fair enough too.

Same with everyone, really. But him a bit more than most.

I think Bates is more and better than you think. Hard to say for sure, but that's what it looked like to me.

And they could certainly draft a guy who is C/G flexible and could move in there when needed.

    "Sad"?

    Yes. You clearly are.

Alright Thurman. Continue to have them blinders on !

  10. Won’t end well for McDermott and his puppets.

But hey, shouldn’t we be just ELATED he’s gotten us to the playoffs and broke the drought by a fluke Andy Dalton last second TD!??

We’re getting passed before our eyes. Already passed and far behind KC and Cincy in the AFC. Other teams are coming. Right on our heels. We are wasting the top talented QB in the league at the same time. Window is closing and we are sitting on our thumbs doubling down on mediocre players. Also, we continue to not build around the alpha of the team.

Another year will pass and we’ll be lucky to make the playoffs. If we do, early exit is likely. Sucks I’m so bearish on my team for 25+ years, but I can’t ignore the eye test. Until McDermott and his clan are shown the door, Lombardi will be postponed.

    Sad!

Ironically,  you hated the Josh Allen pick and were near inconsolable on TSW at the time.:flirt:

And I like how you drew a total nothing blow-off, leave-me-be-I-am-on-vacation statement from someone affiliated with a team that plays Buffalo every 4 years as proof that a specific unmentioned aspect of the Bills was seen as their most glaring deficiency.    Humor is content.

    Not in 2023.

In fairness, I didn't think Dawkins was going to be a good LT either but Harrison seems like less of an athlete and more of a project.

What color are your pom poms? Red or blue?

Does McClappy like cream in his coffee or sugar?

  12. Harrison or Wright round 1.

Absolute no brainer. Get #17 all the protection that we can.

Met a guy last night on vacation that is high up in the eagles organization. I asked him about the Bills. His quote? “Josh Allen is a magician. He’s the last Problem in Buffalo if you know what I mean.”

don’t give a dang who believes me but that was the Super Bowl runner up high level guys  opinion.

do whatever you gotta do to help our star QB

Give me a stud tackle to protect our franchise QB.

Insane how he’s made our horse crap like look decent over the years. Has bailed them out many times. See KC 2021 playoff game video in the playoffs where good ol Spencer brown whiffed when Allen said hut.
