Hasn't had more than seven sacks in a season since 2013. If we are going the old/injured route I'd much prefer they make an offer to Julius Peppers. I think you can get as much production out of Lorenzo Alexander at Defensive End in 2018 as you could Hali, and Zo is already on the roster.

No. In my opinion you've got to stop looking at players for only their play on the field. We have used this model in the past. What we have now is a coach trying to build a team, and you don't do that just because a high talent player is available. You need to look at these guys from every aspect of the job, not just production on the field. Their production is only a fraction of what they are being paid for. You need to look at lockeroom, filmroom, off the field, contract, and on the field production. There a reason the trade market for these players isn't yielding high picks right now, and there is also a reason they are available in the first place. They may be good players but moves like this need to be weighed on a risk/reward scale using all of the above elements.

I have to be honest. I've never liked this argument, because its a prediction, you honestly cant know. What I mean by this is those players have only played in one offense in college. Rosen and Darnold may have taken more snaps under center, however NFL offenses have moved away from that strictly pro style offense anyways. We will see what happens, and I respect your opinion, but to me Mayfield is the best quarterback in the draft.
From a purely statistical and size stand point I can see the Keenum comparison, but Mayfield had a much higher win percentage. And not for nothing I would have taken Keenum this year.

As we get closer and closer to the draft I have no doubt there will be more talk about Baker in the top five. With both Parcells and Savage consulting the Browns on quarterbacks I think he will be the target for them at #4, and if the Bills want him they better move up to #2 or #3. The kid is the alpha of this years class. Rosen may be the most polished passer, but give my Mayfield everyday of the week.

I dont know how to feel about Foles. He has done ok taking care of the ball over the last two years, but I feel like if you give up a 1st or 2nd for a player they should probably be your guy for the next two or three years and I am not sure he can be that. I'd prefer to draft someone but I know a lot of the people I talk to about the Bills really like the Foles idea.

Yes, my mind would be blown. I have spent the entire last year of my life thinking they got that extra first to try and move up for someone in this years draft. Given the manner in which these guys work I have every expectation that they are always way ahead in their thought process.

They arent spending tons of time with guys like Rosen, Mayfield, and Darnold if their intent is to stay at 21. My mind would be blown if they dont trade up. Guys like Beane and McDermott, who are intentional about everything they do, have to know they will be out the door in three years if they don't fix the QB situation as soon as possible. Waiting until next year would be a horrible choice.

Will never understand what it is about Lamar Jackson that gets people here so hot and bothered. Not a winner, not accurate, and has turnover issues. His highlight reel looks great but his tape is terrible. Dont get it and feel like he shouldnt be touched before the 2nd round. Think he would be a massive mistake.

I think the Petty comparisons are off. Rudolph has a season more of starts under his belt and was more productive. Id love to have Rudolph, checks all the boxes just hasnt been as tauted by the media as the other five guys.
One of only two guys in the top 5 or 6 that meets the Parcells critera. Very impressive Manning like interview there.

But I think working someone out at a position they have never played, in favor of a position they have played their entire career says a lot about how a team views that player.
I dont imagine teams will be working out Minkah Fitzaptrick at quaterback just to get a feel, but again just my opinion.

He probably thinks that because its a pretty mighty trend for highly mobile quarterbacks to come into the league like they are the 2nd coming only to flame out after the 1st few years. RG3, Kaep, Vince Young to some extent Vick.

A few things. There is literally no comparison between Cam Newton and Lamar Jackson. Cam still has the same issues he had in college but he is so physically imposing he can make up for it. Jackson cant.
Secondly, there is no comparison between Jackson and Deshaun Watson. Watson was a high completion, high winning percentage quarterback who was already showing great touch on NFL throws. Jackson again is not that.
If you actually watch the games, throw by throw, Jackson misses high a ton, makes bad decisons and has happy feet. He is amazingly athletic with a huge arm, but he is closer to Vince Young than Cam Newton. He seems like an intelligent young man so maybe he has a better chance than rock for brains. If he is the choice fine, but stop putting him in the conversation with Rosen and Mayfield.
Also for anyone making this about race, stop its ignorant and proliferates a terrible message.

Heard Lorenzo Alexander talking about him on the John Murphy show a few weeks back. Said he has great physical ability, but lacks in studying area. I believe they were comparing him with Preston Brown, and Lorenzo basically said you prefer to have someone like Preston who may lack a bit in speed but makes up for it with his study habits and being two steps ahead of everyone else mentally. Went on to say you dont necessarily get that from Zach.

I am not arguing that. My point is if you're going to pay someone to run fast in an attempt to draw coverage you can do it for a lot cheaper than 10 million a year.

that said, since people are brainless beyond stats, it will be interesting what he signs for. Anything under $10 million is great value.

Chiefs probably understand cornerbacks dont win games for them. And this guy, even though he can cover, cant tackle worth a darn and is a complete and utter head case.
They traded away a guy who they may have only had for another year for one or more players they will have for four. They picked up a couple cornerbacks, he was expendable.
