If you are looking at Cook as an every down work horse than I get your dislike for the pick. If you consider what this offense was lacking and what he provides than it is easier to understand the pick. He lines up as a RB and can run the ball very well, he can also catch the ball better than ANY prospect listed as a RB coming out.

I don't agree that he runs the ball very well, that's why I don't think he should've been drafted in the 2nd.

He didn't need to be an every down work-horse, I just needed to see other qualities traditionally associated with really good RBs.

I literally don't see anything outside of speed and pass-catching, and it isn't even blazing speed.

    Did you want Hall?

I did not; I didn't see any RB in this draft as having a 1st rd grade.

I was hopeful that the RB position would be addressed in next year's draft, where at least 2 RBs that I've given a 1st Rd. grade may enter. This pick bothers me because I don't think the FO would draft 2nd and then go 1st Rd. the following year with Singletary and/or Moss still on the roster.

I don't like the Cook pick, but what can ya do?

Hughes was still one of the most effective players at getting pressure in the NFL, ranking 9th in the NFL last year amongst all edge defenders.

This classification does not hold water

If you say so.  I grew accustomed to him creating huge running lanes for QBs to run through after over-pursuit of them, and grew tired of that. I'm almost certain  that the over-pursuing of QBs added to those pressures in spite of the negative results.

I have spoken about this above, he does the last two years have a good record of turning a small number of pressures into a decent sack output. But he just isn't winning enough pass rush reps and isn't generating enough pressures. If you could give Jerry Mario's finishing skill when he gets there you'd have an elite rusher. It is the only thing that has kept Hughes out of that top bracket over his career here in Buffalo. He doesn't convert enough of his pass rush wins and pressures into sacks.

    Revisited.

Addison had more tackles, tackles for losses, as many QB hits, and more than three times as many sacks as Jerry Hughes. Led the team in sacks.

I'll say it again, the man's undervalued in Buffalo --- by a lot of fans at least.

4th down? Can't force the ball...might get picked...Better to just throw it away...

If certain Bills' fans on this board represent all Detroit fans, it's best that he threw it away. You know how the world is coming to an end when Allen throws one pick trying to make a play...well, that would've been Goff's second.

Agree, if Allen plays like crap again this week there are no more excuses. It will be time to accept that he's simply not good and behind closed doors in Orchard Park there will be serious buyers remorse knowing that he had a fluke year during the weird fanless covid year.

Washington has a good dline and but has struggled mightily overall and is lucky to be 1-1 right now. And even if they were a top defense Allen played extremely well against many top 10 defenses last year and has to show that again given his contract. Really hope he can turn it around and come out firing.

How's life treating you in 2018?

Steer clear of 2021, we're dealing with this thing called COVID-19.
