I was pretty tied up cooking a bunch of food for friends (soooooo good to actually have people over, albeit in a limited, distanced fashion), so I didn't get to focus as much as I would have liked to on all the action. Watching the game back, afterwards, I noticed that on Josh's first TD scamper, Ryan Bates was a tackle eligible (see the first highlight clip, below; cred to ESPN): http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=29878854 I think it was pretty sly of Daboll to call this with Bates, instead of Dawkins. Same sort of play, but with a target that nobody has seen on tape. Just a cool little snippet, but it points to what I'm really beginning to respect about Daboll: creativity. It may not always work, and it may not be necessary (as in this case, Allen just ran it in), but that kind of creativity and the options it opens up will lead to harder-to-come-by points against better defenses, like Baltimore and Pittsburgh.

I witnessed a Peterman led picking attack. At first, I was dejected and pissed. Then, I realized the comedy playing out before my eyes, started drinking (more), and I basically started phony-rooting not for the Bills (the game was lost... completely and utterly lost), but for "The Peter-MAHHHHN!". At least we got a lot of laughs, didn't get kicked out, and made some fast friends.

I just substitute vegan cream cheese and swap cauliflower for the wings. most hot sauces are vegan, but check the bottles, to make sure. For spices (beyond Franks Red Hot), I use Indian curry, Rosemary, and a touch of cinnamon.

Bills flag went up this morning. I replaced the New Zealand "All Blacks" (a.k.a. NZ's national rugby team) flag with the free giveaway Bills flag from 2019 St. John Fisher training camp, #neverforget . Food will be homemade wing dip (both a vegan, cauliflower batch, and a standard version), slow-cooked overnight, and seasoned with home-grown, pesticide-free cayenne peppers, and hops, for a citrus hint. Roasted poblanos with wild rice, chips, and booze, booze, booze.
